Jac had knelt down near the snakes and watched them for a moment. Thom had then promptly squished them and she had gotten ash winder insides on her pants. She stumbled backwards, cursing under her breathe. She wiped the slimy substance off her pants and then rubbed her hands on a patch a grass to try get rid of the foul smell.
She was then blown over by the dragon. "Why's a dragon joining our class?" she thought aloud.

Thom's head snapped round when he heard Zack rubbish Hufflepuff yet again. He glared as he turned towards the boy, one finger raised as he opened his mouth to tell him off - a side effect of becoming prefect - but got no further as a gently crunching noise and a thick, slippery substance under his foot caused him to look down. 'Oh - disgusting!' Thom snapped indignantly. Standing on one foot, a slimey, strining, pale grey mess clinging to his foot. 'I'm really sorry, professor,' he said, still furious though.

Loiosh swung his long neck around to look at the Gryffindor girl, hissing a chuckle at her words.

"And yet another display of the Hufflepuffs' incredible coordination, brought to you by their very own prefect, Thom Moen." Zachary said, his voice a bored drawl, smirking at Moen. He, for one, was happy the ash winders had been the victim of Moen's clumsy self, and stared at the fire lazily, half expecting another to emerge. Disgusting, really.

Girty had been watching the snakes with fascination but when the dragon turned up her attention changed to that. She had always been in awe when she saw a dragon. But then when the Slytherin spoke up she spun around and looked at him. She shook her head and wanted to have a go at him for saying things against Hufflepuff and Thom. "Well the score in the Quidditch match proved that Hufflepuff are more skilled and have better coordination then Slytherin."

Zachary seemed unfazed by this, leaning back loftily. "Of course they did terrible," he said smoothly, his lips turning up in a malicious smile. "I wasn't on the team then."

Girty rolled her eyes and turned back to the teacher. "How often have i heard that excuses she thought." She giggled to herself and tried to shift her focus back onto the lesson.

Zachary caught the roll of her eyes, and smirked darkly, before hearing a small giggle. His eyebrows knitted together and he shifted himself into a more formal sitting position. "What're you giggling about, Hufflepuff?" He said demandingly.

Girty spun aorund and smiled at him. She had learned that honesty got you every where. "I was giggling about the amount of times i have heard a Slytherin say that. The main question that floats around in my head is that if you did not make the team and they are so bad how bad are you?" She smiled at him and waited for him to answer.

Zachary stared at the Hufflepuff, before rolling his eyes. "I didn't try out for the team, last term." He said matter-of-factly, leaning back once again. "Seeing how it turned out, i'm more than positive that I'd have made it if I did." He sneered, hating to admit the team had fallen apart last term.
Then, looking down his nose at her, he crossed his arms. "Just wait til Slytherin's first match. We'll slaughter our opponents."

Jerred had to scoff a laugh. The exchange between Zachary and the Hufflepuffs was true comedy, even more so than when Draco fought with everyone last year.
"Zachary Vs the Hufflepuff's! Round 1 commences this Friday Night in the Great Hall." Jerred said having to say it out loudly, before quietening down. "Just don't fight them Zachary, they're not worth it."

Zachary looked over to Jerred curiously, before smirking. "We all know who'd win, anyway." He said superiorly, stretching out his legs and looking back at his fellow Slytherin.
"Maybe we can provoke them to fight and lose some of their precious points," He muttered lowly, his eyes dark with amusement.

"They're hard to provoke, but Thom seems easy enough." Jerred said quietly. He smiled gleefully at Zachary. "Want to fight them anyway?"

Zachary looked over at Thom with a scowl. The boy was somewhat easy to provoke, but was also years older and could probably beat Jerred and himself in a duel no problem.
After a moment, Zachary sighed. "Hufflepuffs don't fight, we should save our duels for the Gryffindors." He said airily, twirling his wand about his fingers.

Jerred laughed. "All pushovers anyway." Jerred replied coolly. He looked over at the mess and just shook his head, smiling as he did so. "Gryffindor's are fun to provoke. I may do it to one of them later on."
