Post by Aidan and Derryl Parkhurst on Jul 9, 2007 15:59:36 GMT
It was time for dinner and the Twins were starving. They strode into the Great Hall and looked around. Aidan spotted a Ravenclaw third year he fancied and he winked at her. Derryl locked eyes with a Gryffindor seventh year that had busted them a while ago and he glared back at him. But they moved on and took their seats in the middle of the long table.
They waited for the Head Master to give his speech so that they could eat and do a little more. They had concocted this brilliant scheme at lunch so the planning was rushed but the fruits would be glorious and messy. They could hardly wait. Now all they needed was for the Head Master to give them the go word and it would begin.
((Ok, so how this is going to work is Dinner is going to go on and without any warning ... the obvious is going to happen. Please join, the more the merrier & don't steel our thunder!!! & teachers, don't be shy to join either))

Jac walked into the Great Hall behind two Slytherins. She watched them carefully as they made their way. She had wanted to trip one but she was distracted by her own friends who she joined at the Gryffindor Table. "Evening all," she said happily, smiling at everyone that was there and putting her other leg over the seat. "Have I missed anything?" Jac asked, looking around excitedly and hoping she hadn't. ((capital idea, Arthur! very good thinking! What a way to get everyone together then with food & the promise of flinging it around at each other! haha ))

Russell hung his head as he saw Aidan and Derryl walk into the Great Hall. They had their innocent faces on and Rus knew that that was never good. He looked around and noticed that no one else had. But, then again, no one else knew those two as well as Rus did. Turning away from them, Rus said to Acelin, "so what did you do next?" She was busy telling everyone and anyone who would listen a story and her animated story telling ability was comical and enjoyablie to watch. Everyone seemed so engrossed around them and only Rus was worried about what the twins had concocked for them all. ((pleased you enjoy it. Ok, get Acelin here, now! : )

Pixle was already seated at the Ravenclaw table when the unusual parade made it's way through. She didn't notice it, however, because at the moment she was furiously scribbling in her 'Holyhead Harpies' notebook. As usual, her mind was somewhere other than present and she was completly taken to writing down what it was like in wherever she happened to be at the moment.
Her mind always tended to wander near dinner time, mostly because when people noticed her mind was elsewhere they were less likely to bother her with idle small-talk. It's not like she didn't like talking, but her hosuemates often felt the uncontrollable compulsion to talk at the table even when there was nothing to say, and she wasn't often in the mood to discuss why Ravenclaw was sure to win the House Cup, so thus her mind wandered off to places more interesting than those she was currently confined to.

Acelin giggled before continuing her story. She was sitting on the table, her feet on the bench and she was facing the group excitedly. She glared at Rus for a moment when he asked such a silly question, then she laughed, "wha' you mean, what did I do? I flushed o' course!" She imitated pulling the chain on a toilet and she made a flushing noise with her mouth as she swirled her hand in a circle to show she flushed the boys head.
"So when the prefects finally came in I was sittin’ on the basin and the nasty li’l boy was cowering in the loo," she said finally. "He spilled everything: the fact that it was him who had been the one who’d cut that poor girls hair and who had shaven the cat. I still can’t believe they thought it was me. I'm not that nasty, am I?" She looked around at the group and laughed, "never mind, don't answer that."

Nikole looked up from her dinner everytime someone came through the doors. She couldn't help it she was curious by nature. Just then she noticed that she was sitting across from a second year, who seemed zoned out from everything that was going on around her. Nikole turned her attention back to her dinner without another thought.

Olivia had gotten caught up in a book. A muggle book at that. It was a swashbuckling pirate book. Liv couldn't put it down. She had just started second to last chapter. She had just finished the love scene where the pirate confessed his loves for the governor's daughter and then went off to fight the armada invading his crew. Liv sighed. How romantic. Sadly guys were not like that.
Walking down the row separating Hufflepuff table and Ravenclaw table, she glanced up to make sure she was walking straight. On that glance, she caught a Ravenclaw boy's eye, Russel. She smiled, realized he was already talking to a girl and forced her head back into her book. She reached her normal sitting space and dove back into the story.
The pirate had reached his crew and given a wonderful speech about love and bravery and the good of all things. Olivia was hooked on the pages of the book that she completely missed all of the days announcements. She would have thought that it was rude, but she wasn't concentrating on the Great Hall and the dinner to come.
As dinner started and the food poured onto the table, Olivia absentmindedly grabbed for an apple on a platter. She was able to snack on the fruit while continuing to read. Olivia was dawning on the fight scene. It was bound to be glorious. She wished the author would just hurry up and get there already. The fifth the bouncing with anticipation.

Grace grinned as she surveyed the scenes around her. There seemed to be some commotion at the Ravenclaw table surrounding a brown haired girl, at the Slytherin table three first years were poking each other, at the Gryffindor table it seemed much was going on as it often did there and a little towards the door from where Grace was sitting two third years were swapping Wizard Cards. Normal sights in the Great Hall before dinner.
Grace smiled widely as Olivia sat near her. "Hi Liv," Grace said happily, but then noticed she was absorbed in her book. Grace giggled and quickly said, "I'm sorry, I didn't mean to interrupt you." Grace frowned, "oh, I have, haven't I?" She decided to make it a worthwhile interruption and asked, "what are you reading?" She was hardly rude but she didn't want to tear Olivia's attention away from her book for a mere hello.

Kellcie had decided it was time to actually eat with people rather than wait until the hall had cleared up. She walked into the great hall and noticed people were already in there, it was just as busy as it usually was. She wandered over to the Ravenclaw table and sat down at the end, virtually away from a lot of people. She still hadnt grasped the whole people thing properly yet.
She listened to the Headmasters speach and everyone talking among themselves. Eventually food was piled onto the table as she made herself get a couple of chicken wings. She kept her head down.

"You actually flushed," Rus ran a hand through his hair and chuckled, "you sure showed him, didn't you." He couldn't believe that Acelin, the sweet, friendly, bubbly girl would flush someone's head in a toilet. It was so unlike her just something he could imagine she would do. He found it just as funny as Acelin reading romance but he wouldn't tell her that.
Just then something yellow moved in his peripheral vision. He turned and saw Olivia walk by, nose in a book. Rus smiled because he knew she hadn't seen her. He looked down the table and he saw Pixle sitting a way off. "Hey, Pixie," he called, "Pixle! Hi!" He waved when she looked his way and smiled. Then he noticed Kell sitting at the end of the table by herself.
Rus stood up, patted Ace on the shoulder and said, "I'll be back." He walked down the table and sat next to Kellcie. "I didn't know you were that much of a loner these days," he said, playfully nudging her shoulder with his. He smiled at her and leaned on the table.

Kellcie looked up when she heard a voice next to her. Smiling slightly when she saw Russell, "Yes well... I dont usually do well in huge crowds anymore" she told him simply as the great hall continued to hoard in a load of other students.

Maeve was minding her own business as the two boys walked in. She smirked when she saw their seemingly innocent faces. Nothing was ever innocent with those two Parkhurst twins. Nothing.
She studied them as the came over to the Slytherin table and didn't take her eyes off them. She wasn't stupid, she knew something was up. There was always something with those twins that got Maeve smirking and anxious. She wanted to know what they had planned. It must be good, since they were waiting for something.
Scanning up and down her table, she stood up and walked down to wear the boys sat. Standing behind them, she shook her head and smirked at them. "Boys, boys, boys. What are you doing now? Trying to get the Slytherins in more trouble than we are already?" she truly didn't care if they got their house in more trouble. Her friends and her already put the whole Slytherin house in a hole in which they were never returning; Why not let the boys keep digging the hole?
She decided to leave without answer and strode back to where her sister and friends were, sitting inbetween Tim and Vanessa, still keeping an eye on the two boys every now and then.

Sarie walked in to the The Great hall for dinner. She looked a round to see if there was some where she could sit and not be noticed. She found a spot at the end of the table. Now she was waiting for the Headmaster to end his speach. She looked around a the twins that she had met in the hall. (This is going to be so much fun. Im ready when u r)

Dax walked through the entrance hall having just come from the Hufflepuff common room. As he walked into the great hall however he was half hoping to see Loren sitting on the Ravenclaw table, but although it was full she was not there. A frown spread across his face as he slowly walked down the long Hufflepuff table trying to find a space where he could sit. A bit further along he saw Grace and Olivia, so with a reluctant smile Dax sat down opposite his fellow Quidditch team members and pulled a plate closer filling it with as much food as possible.
Dax did not bother greeting the girls, they both seemed quite happy in their own worlds and so he would keep glancing towards the main door to see if Loren walked in, or laugh at the other students as they made fools of themselves trying to impress others with magic that was far beyond their skill. It seemed like this lunch was going to be just as boring as any other.

'Hey Pixie...' she heard someone's voice off in the forefront of her mind. She lifted her head and looked around, then realizing it was Russel she smield and waved, "Hey Rus," she called back cheerily as he walked to sit by a girl at the end of the table. 'Nice guy, that Rus...' she thoguht before actually realizing how full the Great Hall was becoming. Not as if it was ever very empty, particularly, but something about the buzz in the room felt like something big was about to happen.
Quite shortly she closed her notebook and stuck it in her book bag, ready to make a quick escape should it come down to it. IT was then, however, that she noticed a charming ginger-haired girl sitting right infront of her. "Oh! Hello," she said jovially, as if seeing people was something trully fascinating indeed. "I don't believe we've met, I'm Pixle," she introduced herself with a grin.
