Russell almost flinched when Kellcie seemed to get angry at him but then he realised he was making her uncomfortable. He frowned. He didn't mean to do that but he just wanted her with him, that's all, he thought.
Rus sighed, she wasn't going to join them and Rus would have to spend the night wishing she was with him. She made everything quiet, when she was with him all the crazy and busy things seemed to slow down and mean nothing. All there was was Kell. He gave her a weak crooked smile and was about to turn away when he felt her hand on him.
His heart skipped a beat then jumped into his throat. He smiled and swallowed it back down. He gave her a quick hug and lead her towards the now dispersed group. Rus looked around and saw only Acelin and Alexis. "Guys," he said, pulling Kell in front of him and pushing her to sit, "this is Kellcie." Rus sat down next to Acelin and patted the bench next to him for Kell to sit.

Kellcie saw Russell frown, Whoops, I didnt quite mean to make him frown she thought to herself, realisation settling in, He knows he made me uncomfy so she tried her best to give him an affectionate smile, though failed.
This time, the silence between them both was not comfortable. It was awkward, almost, nerving. Kellcie looked away from him for a moment, she hated uncomfortable silences, though she forced herself to look back at him when she took his hand.
She walked down the Ravenclaw table with Russell, feeling the usual dread of meeting new people. Kell wasnt really known for her social skills, or her goodness with meeting new people. Though when she was introduced to the others, who she had of course seen in the common room but never really said more than a quick hi too, she smiled. Sitting down next to Russell she looked back over at the staff table.

Lexi laughed at Acelin's statement about Russell off to save someone as if he were a knight in shining armor. She turned her head and noticed him walking with a pretty older Claw. Turning back to Acelin who had asked her about the book she smiled. 'I have to say so far you were right it's such an amazing book I've had trouble putting it down at night. I'm surprised to get up in the mornings,' she finished giggling. 'So what's going on anything interesting been happening?' she wondered since most of the time she felt out of the loop.

Acelin laughed. "I'm glad you’re enjoying it," she giggled. "It took me a few days of non-stop laughing to finish it but that's coz I read really fast." It really was the most amazing book Ace had ever read. "We're shall have to force Russell to read it as well," she mused when she spotted him walking over to them. She giggled and looked up at the girl Rus had brought over.
"I'm Acelin," she said, holding out a hand, "nice to make your acquaintance, Kellcie." She smiled at the new girl. Then she turned back to Alexis and said in answer to her question, "nothing interesting's been happening except a nasty Slytherin accusing me of stealing. I flushed his head in a loo and he confessed. A job well done if I do say so myself." She grinned, very proud of herself.

'Oh I'm totally enjoying it I love to read things like that,' she said smiling wishing she had thought to bring it down with her oh well she would be in her room soon enough and she'd try to finish it that night. 'Yeah we should make Russell read it, he would probably love it,' she said giggling as she caught sight of him through the corner of her eye.
He made his way over with the girl, whom Acelin had referred to as Kellcie. Alexis watched as Acelin introduced her to the new comer and she herself smiled. Then Acelin refocused her attention on Alexis and told her about the Slytherin whos head she flushed in the loo. 'A Slytherin really?' Alexis said in awe, she didn't think she'd ever have the guts to do something like that. Then she turned to Kellcie, 'Hi there I'm Alexis it's great to meet you as well.'

Maeve walked in very hungry. She walked to the Ravenclaw table and realized she didn't know anyone. She looked at the long table to see what looked like everyone talking to somebody. She took a seat that was a few seats away from the group of four friends. She wasn't one that could just start talking to people, she always ended up just observing them. She watched the group of people, not necessarily caring what they were saying, just watching them.

"Well, if you'll excuse me," Bree said, standing up from the Slytherin table, "it looks like supper is just about to get under way and I'll be expected to behave and join the Staff." She jabbed a thumb at the staff table and the group of Slytherin second years laughed. "Enjoy," she said, as she walked off towards the staff table waving at them.
Their laughter melded into the general hum of the Hall and Brianna had to smile at everyone she passed. The children she passed recognised her too and smiled cheerily at her. It was a pleasant existence, her at Hogwarts, why she wanted to give it up for a little action occasionally she could no longer tell. She reached the staff table and soon noticed who else was there.
Walking around, Bree went to the Keeper of Keys and smiled. "Jolly good of you to join us, Victoria," Bree grinned and put a hand on her shoulder. It was always a pleasure to see the witch but at dinner was something exciting and new. Then, Brianna turned to Arista Otis and smiled warmly at her too. "And Arista, a joy as always," she said and walked to Dia. "You're looking a pit peaky, Di," she said, putting a fist on her hip and looking her over. "You clearly haven't had your tea yet." She quickly conjured up a pot and four cups filled with piping tea. They floated to each of the teachers, Bree taking her politely and sipping it.

Victoria had been watching all of the teachers and students milling around the Great Hall for several minutes when she noticed someone get up from the Slytherin table. At first glance she thought it was one of the older students but after taking a second look she noticed it was actually her colleague Brianna O'Donnell the flying teacher. It was a rare occasion to see a teacher sitting with students at the house tables most of the professors headed straight for the staff tables unless they were hailed, or foresaw a problem brewing. It was the mark of a very new kind of teacher and perhaps the others might take a lesson.
Making her way over Brianna walked around and began making the rounds, as she addressed Victoria it caused the brunette to smile widely. Victoria kept to herself a lot but she did like to mingle once in a while.
As she watched on Brianna conjured up some cups of tea one for each of the other teachers she had spoken to upon her arrival. 'Thanks a heap I needed this,' said Vitoria picking up the cup and taking a very modest sip allowing the hot liquid to wend its way down her throat the concoction instantly heated her up which was why she enjoyed drinking it so much.

Russell was glad when Kell sat down next to him. he had half expected her to run out of the Great Hall with no food at all. But she sat and Rus smiled at her, cocking his head inquisitively. She had gone quiet and it was to be expected, being pressured into meeting new people seemed to make Kellcie uneasy and unsettled. A sudden pang of guilt flashed in Russ' insides. He was the cause of the pressure. Why, oh, why have I been so stupid? he thought, looking away from Kellcie and frowning at the table.
Acelin, the angel, was as cheerful as ever and reached across Russell to shake Kellcie's hand. Rus glared at her for a second then smiled. He was happy his friends could be civil and nice to his other friends. But as soon as she had introduced herself, had she continued her conversation with Alexis. Rus frowned at the table again. He cleared his throat and looked up at Kell, taking her hand in his. "Thanks for coming here," he said, smiling his skew smile at her.

"I am." Arista smiled toward Dia. She sighed and sat back. There was loud noise all around her. She was sure she would need to take a headache potion when she got back to calm her. Lord knows with the house elf strike in the staff room a good cup of tea was out of the question.
Noticing, just as Victoria had, the flying professor heading up to the staff table, Arista smiled warmly. She nodded her head at the greeting and responded happily, "Likewise, Brianna." She smiled greatfully as a cup of hot tea was summoned over to her. She smelled the sweet warmness and felt the steam on her cheeks. Smiling greatfully, she thanked Brianna, and held of her cup in toast. She took a soft sip, savoring the flavor or relaxation in her mouth. She felt her headache subside immediately. Amazing what a simple cup of tea would do.

As walked into the Great Hall looking on the house tables to see what food was on offer today. Dan waved at the members sitting at the Hufflepuff table and swiped an apple off a first years plate. With a small laugh Dan took a huge bite out it while he walked up towards the staff table. It seemed to be occupied only by the female members of the staff, which may not be a good thing. With a nod of the head in acknowledgement of the other staff members Dan sat down a few seats away and carried on eating his apple while looking out over the noisy hall.
Once all that was left of the apple was its core Dan threw it down on his empty plate and reached forward for his goblet. With a large gulp he let the red wine trickle down his throat as he continued to keep his eye on what was happing in the hall. He had a feeling something may happen, but as he was only the Charms professor he could not predict the future, only keep his wand close.
Leaning back on his chair Dan looked towards the other staff members on the table and he could not help but smile as he listened into their conversation.

"You are most welcome, Victoria," Bree said. She smiled at the lady before looking over the students. It was wonderful seeing the children gather each night in such an enthusiastic manner. Arista caught her attention now and Bree, looking at the woman and away from her cup, smiled to show she had heard her.
As she was looking down the table at Arista, a movement behind her head caught her eye. She looked past her head, her smile faltering for a second before catching up again as she saw Daniel sit a few seats away from them. She conjured another tea cup and levitated it to Dan so that it floated in front of his face. "So any interesting injuries recently, Arista?" Bree asked conversationally.

Alexis was enjoying her seat at the Ravenclaw table and for the first time she was actually not sitting there all alone with her nose pressed in a book, smiling she realized that she was sitting there with a whole group of people and was actually talking, laughing and having a good time. As some fruit appeared on the table Alexis found herself an orange and peeled it taking a bite of the sweet fruit.
Looking around though she realized that she wasn't the only one having a good old time, even the teachers seemed to be enjoying themselves and Alexis sat and watched as Professor O'Donnell conjured them cups of tea. A cool bit of magic she thought to herself and wished she could do that, she'd conjure up the whole Ravenclaw table cups of pumpkin juice. That would be awesome and probably make her a hit. Grinning she turned her attention once again to her new friends.

Dia smiled at Arista and Victoria, who seemed to be just as talkative as she fetl today. She didn't feel pressured into making conversation and that was just the way she liked it. It was nice to just sit at the table and watch the students. It was then that she noticed Prof O'Donnell making her way towards them. She smiled at Bree but her smile quickly turned to a frown as Bree called her peaky.
She patted her cheeks, feeling their coldness under her warm hands. She didn't quiet know what Bree was talking about so she didn't say anything on the matter. She ran her index fingers along the edges of her face, wiping the hair out of her face. "It's good to see you too, Brianna," she said and took the tea floating in front of her.
Dia sipped the tea thoughtfully. Why did Bree say she looked peaky, she wondered, and it bothered her. She didn't feel any different to how she usually felt, perhaps a little quieter but that happened upon occasion. Dia looked at Bree, trying to see if the answer to her question was on her face but instead she saw where her gaze went. Dia turned and saw Daniel sitting by himself.
She stood up from her seat and joined Dan. "Evening," she said, putting her cup on the table so she could pull her chair in. Her maroon robes were low cut and a little revealing. She smiled at him but couldn't think of anything else to say. So she quickly turned her head and stared out over the Great Hall.
