Alexis had been in the library for hours. She had managed to let her homework pile up and it soon became alarming. It wasn't until her stomach gave an almighty growl did she realize she hadn't eaten yet. Sighing because she still had so much to do, she got up and left the library because starving herself wasn't an option. So dropping off her books in her room she made her way to the Great Hall.
She walked in behind Aidan and Derryl two Slytherins in her year. Staring at the back of their blond heads she wondered if something was about to happen. Why she thought that she wasn't sure it was just something about those two that meant trouble.
Getting to the Ravenclaw table she found an empty seat near Acelin, and another girl she thought was named Kellcie. 'Hey there guys,' she called to them.

She slumped in through the entrance off the side of the teachers table. Sitting in her usual chair she looked across the expanse of the Great Hall seeing all the children's faces as they sat down with their classmates to eat. Some of them were laughing as if whatever their companion had said was the funniest thing they had ever heard. Some studying their faces so serious. Then two twin boys made their way in, and Victoria just stared at them. She could smell trouble a mile away and those two they were trouble the worst part was that there were two of them to contend with. Giggling to herself she found it funny how students were the same now as they were when she was younger. Waiting for dinner to begin she sat back in her chair and folded her arms across her chest.

Sarie woundered to her what would happen after it all began. Would the headmster stop or just allow it make who was involed clean up. If that happened she proudly say she was part of it but she guessed she'd find out soon.

Lidia had walked into the Great Hall and sat down at her normal seat, away from everyone. When she looked up she saw everyone getting ready for something. "Hey, what's going on?" She asked some kid, sitting at the other end of the table. Knowing these kids they were going to do something foolish and she would join in. It was amazing how people here were so alike, yet, so different. It always put a smile on her face.

Aidan and Derryl were whispering to each other in very hush voices. 'You hit the Head girl first,' Aidan said as he noticed her sitting near to were they were. 'And you hit ...' Derryl began but stopped when he heard someone behind them. The twins whirled around and grinned at Maeve.
'Hey Maeve,' the twins chanted in unison. She seemed suspicious and Aidan nudged Derryl with his elbow.
Derryl grinned at Maeve and was about to make up some story about how they were just doing their normal nothing when she left.
Aidan shouted after her, 'you won't be disappointed.' The twins looked at each other and laughed. She sure wouldn't be. Then an older Slyther joined them. Aidan and Derryl grinned at her. 'Nothing,' they answered in unison. 'Nothing's going on.

Russell laughed and nudged Kellcie again. "And you avoid at all costs too, I guess," he teased. He stood up and offered her his hand. "Come on," he said. Just then, Alexis walked passed him and he smiled at the third year. Turning his attention back to Kell, he added, "we can fix that. Come join us." He nodded towards the group he had left and noticed Alexis joined them.
He cocked his head and hoped Kell would join them. He knew she would much prefer to sit by herself but he would much prefer her company with everyone else. "They're an alright bunch," he added, hand still extended to help her up, "not rowdy or boisterous at all. Well, Acelin is both but you know her, always going on about something or other. It's always good for a laugh though. Come on, Kell, come join us."

Grace leaned on her noted fingers, her elbows propped on the table, and looked around. Dax joined them but he seemed preoccupied with looking for someone. Probably Loren, Grace thought as she noticed how he checked the Ravenclaw table. Grace reached over the table and poked Dax in the arm.
"Hi," she said when he looked at her, with a friendly smile on her face. "Alright?" she asked. She hadn't seen Dax since the game and she had thought about him randomly that afternoon. She wasn't sure why but whenever she thought of people, like she had with Dax, it usually meant that she needed to see them. "I thought about you this afternoon," she said, inspecting the wood of the table.

Dia walked into the Great Hall through the doors from the Entrance Hall. She walked down the aisle towards the Staff table and smiled at students she recognised. "Evening, Miss Heart," she said to the Ravenclaw as Dia passed her as she sat down. Dia made her way through the children, smiling at everyone and greeting a few more.
When she reached the Staff Table, she saw the Keeper of Keys sitting. She recognised the woman from seeing her around the school and decided to join her. Dia sat down next to the lady and smiled at her. "Evening," she said cheerfully as she could. She wasn't very good at the making of conversation but she was trying. Dia didn't notice anything was afoot.

Maria walked into the Great Hall, even though she wasn't very hungry. Walking over to the Hufflepuff table she sat down near a few of the other people on the quidditch team. They all seemed wrapped up in their own conversations, so she just sat quietly looking over the table and then around the whole hall.

Acelin glared at Rus. "Just like it's unbelievable that I could beat you up," she teased, brandishing her fist dangerously. Then she burst into laughs. "So Rus dared me that I couldn't beat him up," she explained to her audience, "and, let's just say I'm five sickles richer." She laughed along with the group and looked at Rus who had missed the teasing that was aimed at him.
He stood up and said he'd be back. "Ya," Ace said, "ok." She watched him go but then turned back to the group. "And he was limping for about a week." She jeered at his back. The group and Ace laughed.
Soon they went quiet and as more people came into the Hall, Ace sat on the bench next to the table. Alexis joined them soon and Ace beamed at her. "Hey Lexi," she said, "nice of you to join us." She smiled and looked down the table leaning backwards but holding on to the table. "You just missed Rus," she informed her, "he's gone to rescue someone else." She sat up straight again and laughed. "So how's the book coming along?" she asked.

"Yes, I tend to avoid it" she said with a laugh. What did he want her to do. She was quite happy here away from the main bustle of the ravenclaw table. "Uh, im alright here" she told him. "You go, seriously im fine, im just having this and leaving anyway"
It felt like Russell was peer pressuring her into doing something and for the first time in his company, she felt uncomfortable. They were his friends, not hers. She tried to ignore the voice in her head telling her to stand up and leave the great hall as she looked at him. "I.." She began, shaking her head as she looked down at the table. Without thinking she took his hand and let him guide her to the others.

The ship swayed with the waves. The silence was deafening. The first canon was fired. The captain gasped. It was about to hit....Liv never figured out what it hit. Grace had come and sit by her. She lost her place in her book, and looked up with a smile. Grace really hadn't meant to bother her. Besides it was rude to ignore her. Dinner time was social time, so Liv closed the book and answered Grace.
She laughed. "Don't worry. I was getting to hungry to concentrate anyway." She said with a smile. "It's a muggle book." Liv said, flipping it over so she could look at the picture on the cover. It was a delicate painting of a pirate sea battle. The canons were filled with fire and smalled portraits of pirates were hanging from ropes up in the top sails. It was an amazing picture. "It really is an amazing book!" Liv really wished she could find out what would happen, but she would finish it later.
Finally able to view the table properly, and the food, Liv stomach gave a rumble. She pulled a good amount of food on her plate and started to eat. She noticed that Dax had joined them, but neglected to greet neither of the girls. Liv looked at Grace, her mouth full of mashed potatoes and shrugged. She noticed Dax eyeing the door and the Ravenclaw table. She swallowed and rolled her eyes with a smile.
She noticed another Hufflepuff had sat near them. "How are you Maria?" Liv said with a smile inviting her into the conversation, taking another bite of her dinner.

Olivia closed her book and showed Grace the cover. It looked terribly exciting and Grace could see that she was very focused. She gawked at the cover. "It's very beautiful," she said, looking up at Olivia. "Is it about pirates?" she asked, making a special note about the ships on the cover. "How fascinating!" Grace said absently.
When Olivia's attention went elsewhere, Grace looked up and noticed Maria. She smiled at her and waved her hand for her to join them. She didn't like it when people sat by themselves and she was happy for her not to be by herself. "Hey Maria," she said, then smiled at her and Olivia and Dax. What an odd little group, she thought.

Arista was very thankful for dinner time. It was the first night in four nights that she would be able to eat along with the rest of the school in the great hall. She walked in the great hall, her rust colored robes billowing behind her. She smiled as she walked in between the Hufflepuff and Ravenclaw tables. She nodded to the students she knew and smiled. She love Hogwarts.
Walked up to the teachers table she took her regular seat next to the keeper of the keys. "Evening Victoria." she said with a smile. "How's it going." Both of the woman were young, though Arista had a few years of Victoria. They weren't exactly good friends, but conversations through dinner were pleasant. She notice Dia sitting on the other side of Victoria. "Oh, Good evening to you too, Dia!" Arista smiled. "you're well I trust?" The healer asked.
Waiting for the food to appear, Victoria looked over the house tables. something seemed to be brewing over at the Slytherin table, and she concentrated on a certain set of twins that seemed to be the center. She smiled and gave them a wink. She hoped it was a good plan. She needed a little excitement in her life.

Dia smiled at Arista as she joined the two. It was always much easier to be polite when someone approached you. Dia nodded to the healer's question, "indeed I am, thank you Arista." Dia closed her eyes tightly and shook her head. She opened them and smiled at the two ladies. "And I trust you are too?" Being sociable was hard work, Dia noted.
