Lesson III

[Ethelion Eriksson]

Ethelion sat down at his desk, happy to be back from his long trip. After his falling-out with Professor l'Keitha he had taken a leave of absence, going to another country. He felt like a whole new person now, and he was ready to restart his life. He went over the lesson in his head while he waited for students to arrive.

[Helia Ollivander]

"Good morning Professor Eriksson," said Helia happily as she entered the class. She takes a seat in the second row, and while waiting for the other students to arrive asks, "So what's our lesson on today?"

[Kim Rivers]

Kim walked into the room and went to the back desk. She saw Helia and gave her a quick smile. "Morning professor"

[Brian Chase]

"Morning Professor" he said quietly walking into the classroom."Can't wait for today's lesson." he said smiling.

[Helia Ollivander]

She smiled at Kim, "How's it going?" she asked cheerily, then waved at Brian, "Well, hello stranger." she smirked and began pulling out her quills, an ink bottle, and her notebook so that she wouldn't miss anything from the lesson.

[Kim Rivers]

Kim looked at helia from where she was sat. "Smoothly" she answered "what bout you?"

[Brian Chase]

"Hey girls." he said sitting next to Helia.

[Ethelion Eriksson]

Ethelion smiled at his students, standing up to stride along the isle between them. "Today-" he announced, walking over to a closet and fiddling with the lock. "We have a special guest-teacher."

[Kim Rivers]

Kim smiled at Brian. "Hiya" She watched the professor. Wondering what he was on about.

[Ashlee Van Dort]

AJ slipped into class, picking a seat near the back of the classroom. She leaned back in her chair and stared up at the front of the classroom.

[Helia Ollivander]

She smiled as Brian sat beside her, then looked back to the front of hte class, "Guest teacher? Who?" she asked intriuged. She began trying to think who it could be; an inventor, or a theologian, a world renowned historian, or perhaps a soldier from the dark wars. No matter, she was still facsinated.

Ethelion noticed Ashlee's enterance through the side of his eyes, but he carefully ignored her, still smiling broadly. He wasn't about to get dragged into that again, not after his month of meditation and self-discovery. He threw open the cubboards, pulling out a battered, dirty, incredibly old looking hat. "The Hogwarts Sorting Hat! You all remember it, I'm sure. I've been given permission to borrow it for just this lesson."

[Helia Ollivander]

She leaned forward and set an arm on her desk, letting her chin rest on her hand. A mischievous look played across her face, 'The things that hat must know...' she thought, wondering what specifically their lesson would be on.

[Kim Rivers]

Kim looked at Helia then at the professor. I dont get it she thought. "I dont get it" Kim sat back on her chair and thought about it a bit. Ah! The hat must know lots of uhm.. history stuff She smiled "Got it.. So are we going to learn things based on what the hat knows?"

[Ethelion Eriksson]

Ethelion chuckled, setting the hat down on his desk with its rip of a mouth facing toward the class. "The Sorting Hat is going to tell us all a story. One you're sure to have heard of before, but it is one of the very few 'living' things left which can give you a first hand account. As to what the story is about? Why don't you ask him."
