As it was an exceptionaly sunny on this fine day, and as classes had been canceled as everyone seemed to have misplaced their wands, Novella decided to go sunbathing. Loiosh, her baby Peruvian Vipertooth, rode on her left shoulder, Darin, her white ferret, rode on her right. Both of their minds touched her own, and as they spoke to each other their conversation whispered in the back of her mind. She smiled. Somehow, Novella was not worried that her wand had been pulled from her fingers, flying off toward the forest. She felt... powerful enough without it, and Loiosh chuckled into her mind. She lay her towel, in Gryffindor colors, down on the small stretch of sand at the edge of the lake, lying down, her small beasts curled up on her right side together. Novella closed her eyes.

Helia had been wandering around, feeling quite awkward and angry. She had been up in the common room practicing transfigurations and then her wand had flown out of her hand and she hadn't seen it since. She lilted over to the lake and and shook her head slightly. "Hey." she said sitting down by the gryffindor girl. "I don't think we ever got properly introduced the other day, I'm Halo." she held out a hand.

Novella sat up half-way, shading her eyes with one hand as she reached up to shake Helia's with the other. "Hi, Halo. I'm Novella, and these are my buddies Loiosh and Darin," she gestured toward the sleeping dragon and ferret beside her. "Nice day," she commented.

"Yup." she smiled, "Just a word of warning, careful who finds out about Loiosh. I know some Slytherins that would wreek havoc if they knew." She rolled her eyes, then smiled, "Such a pretty dragon though." she said in awe.

Novella looked closer at the girl. "Ooh.. right, you were there the night I got him," she realized. "Sorry, I didn't recognize you. The glare and all," she said apologeticly, "But no one's going to do anything to Loiosh." The dragon poked his head up at the sound of his name, speaking into Novella's head.
<Mamma?>
<Don't worry, Loiosh. Everything's okay. Go back to sleep, and don't worry about it.> She paused for a moment. <And don't call me Mamma.>
She could feel Loiosh's laughter, his happiness. <Okay, Mamma.> He said, dropping his head back down to rest on Darin, who did not stir. Novella smiled at the briefly before looking back up at Halo.
"Like I was saying, no one's going to do anything to him. He can't fly yet, and his poison won't kill, but it will knock you out for a few hours if you aren't careful. And Darin's got a mean bite on him." She laughed, adding, "And I'm not entirely harmless, either."

She laughed, "Well that's good to know." she sighed slightly, "Any idea what happened to everyones wands?" she asked hopefully. She had been missing hers sorely. It felt like a part of her had flown away. She was an Ollivander, what could you expect when it came to wands?

Lisa was sure she saw her wand fly out in this direction. She frowned, crawling around the grass while searching. "No not here," she whispered to herself, about to give up and sitting down on the grass sulkily. Then, noticing two girls at the lake she quickly walked over, remembering Helia from their Divination class the other night but not recognising the other.
Just about to ask if either of them saw an uncooperative, buzzing wand flying over their heads (and if yes, to point her in the direction it went off to) she noticed two creatures beside the unfamiliar girl.
"That- that's a dragon!" She said, as if the other two hadn't noticed.

"Mine's gone too... I figure they'll come back when they want to, though," she shrugged, unconserned. She looked up at the new girl's words, to see another Gryffindor, one whom she didn't know. "Is it?" She asked brightly, "I hadn't noticed. I thought he was a hinky-punk."

She giggled, "My, quite a scaly beast for being a hinkypunk." she giggled. "Hello Lisa. This is Novella. Novella, Lisa. Yay! Now weknow each others names," she giggled. The sugar high from last night had yet to completly wear off. She turned back to Novella, "Well, if you ever run into any trouble with the lovely thing let me know. My brother is a Dragon keeper and I got to be a dragon keep's intern last month." she said proudly.

Novella looked at Halo with interest, seeming excited for the first time. "You know how to train them?" She asked. "I mean, he'll do what I ask, but I want him to be... really strong, you know? I don't know why he picked me, I certainly have no experience with dragons."

"I don't think that matters. I think they kind of picked their owners on who needed them more, who had a similar personality or something." she shrugged.

Lisa stared at the dragon for a few more minutes, before feeling her face flush. Grinning sheepishly, she shrugged, still not used to all of Hogwart's suprises. "I've never seen one is all," she said in awe, looking back at Novella with a smile before frowning.
"Wait a minute- It picked you, not the other way around?"

"I don't know... Professor Addis didn't exactly explain." She shrugged, picking Loiosh up as he opened his eyes again, to interested in the conversation to sleep. Darin kept sleeping as ferrets always do. She lifted Loiosh onto her shoulder, were he perched, opening and closing his paper-thin, copper wings as if exercising. "Yeah, he chose me... Professor Addis got him as an egg, I don't know how... and he hatched for me." As if to emphasise the point, Loiosh licked her ear with his long pink tongue, and she laughed.

Boggleworth was completing his usual rounds of the lake when he saw a group of students conversing. He quickly strolled up to them "Hello what have we here?" then he recognised them one by one. "Good day, Halo me old pal, Lisa mischief maker and I'm sorry I don't think I know you, the lucky lady who got the dragon." he eyed the dragon dubiously, but he couldn't help but warm up to the little fella even if he was dangerous. "So what brings you all out here?"
