Novella's body, along with Loiosh's, fell to the ground. But it did not matter because they were not there any longer, looking out of Darin's eyes as three minds. He was not completly human, merely humanoid, looking simply like a large, upright ferret, with exaggerated limbs and a somewhat more human-looking face. But he was still covered with thick, white fur and he-- or they-- leapt as one onto another of the lethifolds, tearing the tangible darkness apart with their teeth, unaware of the people surrounding them, seeing only the enemy.

Thom cleared his throat loudly, pointing up at the sky. Hundreds of wands darted and dived about, still infuriated with their magical kidnap. "It's somewhere up there." he said guiltily to Cashew.
Turning towards the castle, he frowned at Moncrieff. "A loaf of bread? And what the hell are you WEARING?" he questioned the teacher with wide eyes, unable to take his eyes of the rediculously tight attire. Carefully picking up the goldfish bowl, Thom hobbled towards the castle.
Thom could hear the sound of the patronus being torn apart behind him, and the sound of Novella's distraught cries at the sight, but he was unable to bring himself to look.

"Concentrate people!" yelled Boggleworth running short of breath now as most of the lethifolds seemed to be coming after him. He ducked and dived then fell to the ground in a heap as a lethifold came ever closer...

The water in the bowl sloshed onto Thom's clothes, freezing his stomach. He cursed loudly, and looking about he realised what a terrible scene this was turning into.
Wands flew like a flock of starlings above them, sycronized in their onslaught. The lethifolds were like rats clambering over each other, blind and infuriated and hungry, twisting grotesquely as they were burnt and slashed. Half the students lay slummed on the grass, some invisible so that people tripped over them - and worst of all were those fighting.
Here Thom stood with a goldfish bowl, Boggleworth at his side wit a fishingrod. Cashew was without a wand, only carring a set of bluish glass in her arms, and Moncrieff was brandishing a baguette! Lisa and Novella were the only ones who weren't looking lost! He shook his head in disbelief. "Incendio!" he shouted, firing at another lethifold.

Lisa nearly cried with relief as the teachers made their way down to the lake. Looking around frantically, she gasped as she saw two Lethifolds advancing on her threateningly. Her eyebrows creased in concentration and she quickly yelled, “Oppugno!” at one of them, holding it back with a flock of birds that began to attack. Pointing her wand at the other, she fired another relashio spell, watching it coil away weakly.
In the few spare seconds given, she turned her attention toward the teachers her stomach queasy with the overwhelming feeling of relief. Until of course, she saw a crazy woman transfiguring things into fish – in proper habitat, her mind decided to note- and their Divination professor looking as though he had just come down from the Great Hall after lunch. Although she hardly knew every attack method, Lisa didn’t think baguettes made the most useful of weapons.
However, she grimaced before turning away and letting the teachers do their job. At least no one had been injured yet. She sent a sympathetic glance to the fainted students, admiring them for their beautiful patronus - Not irreparable injuries anyway.

The lethifolds, having consumed the magic from each attack, begin to rise, wavering at first, but growing steadier in their advances. Erich steps carefully between the shuddering bodies, his ankles warming slightly as he passes through invisible students whose thoughts are humming low and wounded. One of the cloaks lurches toward him as if only now noticing his ethereal form, weaving closer, still bodiless and hungry. "No," he replies coldly, closing a shell around it to keep it contained, at least momentarily. It couldn't hurt him either way, of course, but as with anything of this order it was best to remind them of that.
If this doesn't get your attention I don't know what will. And the shell began to shrink.

Algernon pauses to cast a quick 'finite incantum' on Henry's wand, then runs further into the frey. Finally, losing Cashew, he realizes what is going on.
Students lie on the ground moaning, but none seem to be seriously injured. The lethifolds are everywhere and a strange beast which looks something like a giant otter is eating them. Ah, well. Just another day at Hogwarts.
Algernon's pants are uncomfortably tight and he is not in the mood to put up with nonsense.
And then he notices Erich, and he can see nothing else again.
He runs up to him, slashing the baggette through the man's head, more to get his attention than to actually hurt him.

Hello Algernon, Erich replies without turning or reacting at aside from shifting his minute weight from one foot to the other. It's not as if I could not have stopped you. I can hear you thinking from a mile away. You accent is atrocious and there's a lethifold behind you. He looks over his shoulder, lips curling in to a smile.
"I think you have more pressing things to worry about than coming to me for another show, no?"

Algernon whirled around, casting the first spell which came into his head. "Deffindo!" The lethifold was cleved in half by a line of bright orange light. Turning back to Erich. "You can't distract me that easily, Aubry," He says threateningly, teeth gritted together.

"Professor!" Thom yelled angrily at Moncrieff. "I haven't a clue what you're doing - but the curent situation is a bit more important than hitting him with a load of bread!" he yelled indignantly, still unable to believe how badly things were going.
"We need to end this now!" he roared.

Their teeth and claws tore through a Lethifold and there was nothing else. Their teeth and claws tore through another. Again. Again.

Feeling worn, not being used to using this much random magic, Lisa let her wand arm fall, breathing deeply. Her gaze shifted to Novella's furry weapon and she slumped to the floor, watching as it tore apart monster after monster.

Thom stopped his path towards the castle. He could see Novella kneeling on the ground, devoid of strength, and her dragon curled up next to her as if dead. He prayed it wasn't. "Novella?!" he called desperately, although she didn't seem to hear him. Setting the goldfish bowl down on a rock, he began to dart his way back down to her, wand raised. "I'll come back for you!" he said to the goldfish. It gave him a disgruntled look.
"Lisa, help me get Novella." he command on the way past her.

Erich leans in close to Algernon. They're bright kids, aren't they? You should know to listen to them, Professor. He raises his hand to stroke Algernon's face, heating his skin to the beginnings of burns and then pushes him to the ground with the slightest effort of his magic. In the time it takes for Algernon to hit the ground, Erich has reminded him of every fantasy Algernon has been visited by since that night in Rainer's office, replaying them over and over again in compression possible only in the mind and body. Algernon, sprawled out on top of the divided remains of the lethifold he dispatched, stares up at him. Erich runs his eyes over Moncrieff and grimaces dramatically.
You pants are getting tighter, Algernon. You should be ashamed of yourself. Erich walks away without further comment.

Keifer slowly began to regain conciousness, he couldnt remember what had happened, he thought he'd just had a really bad dream. He stood up and looked down, realising he was on the shore. He looked around and saw the familiar sight that gave him the tiny hint it wasnt a dream.
Keifer walked forward into the centre of it all, feeling a lot stronger now he had some rest. He stood next to Thom, not knowing what to do at the minute he tood there and waited.
