Post by Henry Boggleworth on Jul 15, 2006 13:43:51 GMT
Boggleworth had been rather un-successfully blasting a few lethifolds with fire, his magic just wasn't up to scratch. But he could do one thing, get help if his luck was with him. He sent more sparks up into the air calling for help as he dragged a dazed Keifer and Halo further from the lethifolds. He then summoned up his little strength and did a spell taught to him by his uncle, a very useful spell to hide, he muttered the incantation making Keifer and Halo invisible to the lethifolds. "ruddy hell that took a bit, who's next, Thom methinks you!" he ordered bringing his wand about. (tell me if that's too unrealistic, but then patronus charms are more difficult, this is more sneaky and mischieveous like Boggleworth's character, so now Halo and Keifer can't be seen by the lethifolds!)

Boggleworth quickly did the spell again saying "sorry guys!" But he only had enough magic to turn his fellow students invisible. So now Thom, Novella, Halo and Keifer had all disappeared. "Bloody hell!" cursed Boggleworth as he realised he was the only one left visible, he quickly began to limp back towards the castle, drawing the lethifolds after him. why me! he wondered I don't want to be bloody courageous!. Lethifolds were gaining on him fast, he quickly ducked behind a rock and prepared to blast any that came near him... he hoped the others would help him out, he didn't want to be a courageous fool doing heroics, ah well you're forced into some situations, c'est la vie!

"Oh what a splendid strategem young Henry! Your head of house will be ever so proud of you," Erich says, his body condensing nearby. "I'm sorry I can't be of more help but you know...intangible. Telepathy isn't very useful against the mindless...or stupid for that matter. Do keep running though as they appear to be gaining on you." Producing Thom's discarded unicorn horn as if from nowhere, Erich lances a passing lethifold half heartedly. The black folds of its body wither and collapse t his translucent feet, the horn as good as chalk beside it.
"Oh. And that works too. Once." Erich smiles pleasantly to himself as another lethifold passes through him unimpeded.

"Cheers!" shouted Boggleworth as he began to run off again, though it was more of a hobble due to his still impeding limp. damn and blast this leg he thought as the lethifolds drew ever closer unfortunately his magic was weaker so his spells were decresing dramatically in power, not that they had been effective beforehand. His"Incendio" spell at the nearest barely buffeted it away. He dived behind another boulder though, dating in between them, drawing the lethifolds still further away from the others. when are the blasted professors going to come! he wondered. as he hid after a very close call with a lethifold which he'd only just missed...

"Students have you seen my wand--Oh! Ghostly attackers! The school is under siege," Cashew Dumbledorable exclaimed in alarm, stepping back toward the doors of the school as the magic sapping pull of the lethifolds washed over her, causing her hair to droop and often perfect smile to falter. Steadying herself, Cashew leapt forward with potion in hand, tossing a small bulb of blue liquid in to nearest lethifold...missing it and striking Henry's wand, turning it in to a fishing pole.
"Stand back incompetent, defenseless first years, Cashew will save you!" the immaculate healer cried as she dashed in to the fray of battle, her hair billowing as a great and luxurious sail behind her.

Boggleworth stared at this crazy woman, he was about to use his wand then he remembered it had just been transformed. So he decided to use it to get the fool woman out of trouble if he could so he flung it at the nearest lethifold, then dashed towards her as one lethifold came straight at her he pushed her to the floor shouting, "defenceless! I don't bloody well think so!" he then rolled away taunting the lethifolds to follow him.

Something warm and gently was brushing against Thom's face, and even though it felt small, he could still feel it passing through the strands of his hair, tickling him awake. Opening his eyes, the scene was still bright with that of spells and patronuses, and with difficultly he began to move his knees and hands, working life back into them. His wand lay underneath him, and sitting up he pulled it to his face, his vision becoming clearer.
He ran a hand through his hair and withdrew it, seeing that what had been touching him was fine white powder, dry and glowing. He stared at it for a moment, wondering how this substance could have awoken him back to the battle. Then he realised.
"Powder of unicorn horn...? My horn!" he bellowed indignantly. "Who did this to my horn?!"
But there was no time for answers, for Thom could see that it had been used to perish one of the lethifolds. Standing up he ran to join Boggleworth and Lisa as they were told to back away from the lethifolds. "Lisa, are you okay?" he asked her, holding her arm. He gave a puzzled look at Boggleworth's wand, noticing that he had chosen to replace it with a fishing rod. "I know we're by a lake, Bog, but this is no time for fishing!"
Looking about he saw Chashew, and he let out a sob of relief. At last, teachers! he thought to himself.
Then he saw Eirch. "You again! Where did you go last time?!"

Algernon came running out of the castle, close behind Cashew. He was, inexplicably, carrying a large loaf of french bread and wearing considerably smaller pants than would generally be advisable for a man his size.
"My BOOK!" He screamed, even more inexplicably. Suddenly, he fell to the floor, seeming to trip over something invisible. He growled, poking it violently. "What..? Helia!"Summoning his wand, he pressed the tip to her forehead, casting a quick ennervate spell, and then was off again after Cashew. He did not seem to notice the monsters, so intent on catching the nurse.

Cashew puts up with no guff. A lethifold, she assumed, had knocked her to the floor but thanks to her incredibly strong spirit she had managed to survive the ordeal and righted herself quickly. It was within another moment that she had positioned herself to save another student, this time, by turning the encroaching lethifold in to a goldfish. Cashew was particularly proud of this potion as it yielded a bowl in which to house the transfigured creature. "I am magnificent in all possible ways," she declaimed loudly and turned towards the cowering students, "You must retreat to the castle at once lest you get it the way of my stunning defeat of these hordes! Your Professor French will assist me in my most usnurpassed display of power and war craft! Also," she continues as a quiet afterthought, "has anyone seen my wand?"
