Carolanne looked at the peice of parchment she was still grasping in her hands. She folded it into four and stuck in one of the front pockets in her jeans. She smiled, "It's served it's purpose though, I at least found something," she said referring to the small group that had gathered.
Laney nodded, "That'd be nice. We can get lost together," she commented with a giggle. Laney shook her head as she stiffled another laugh. What it was to be young. She only hoped her brother wouldn't tag along. She needed to make friends on her own; not that she wouldn't mind if Ash was there, she just didn't want to worry about saying something and have Ashton take a second meaning of it.

Cristian smiled at Laney as she tried to seize her laughter. It made him smile. "Right then lads, see you later, me and Laney are going to have to learn the ins and outs of Hogwarts the hard way" he said as he waved to the guys, and opened the door for Laney to go through.

Ash just laughed at the conversation, "Laney dear, the only reason your maps are no good, is because you suck at making them!" he teased. "Honestly Laney, what would you do without me?" He gave another small laugh, then turned to leave, "Well, I'll see you guys later." Before leaving, he said to Laney, "Rencontrez-moi par le lac à trois heures. Il y a quelque chose que je veux vous parler de."
((Translation: Meet me by the lake at three o'clock. There's something I want to talk to you about.))

Laney laughed, "Ash, you made the map for me," she said sticking her tounge out at him, "I did make a few moderations, but they were wrong," she said with a shrug. Laney shook her head, "Without you, Dear Brother, I'd be in hell," she simply said.
She kissed her brother on the cheek then waved good bye, "au revoir, Frère," she said, "I'm going with Cristian," she said with a grin. She gave a curt nod in Jeremy's direction, "It was nice meeting you, Jeremy, but I must be off." She looked at her brother as she heard her native tounge. She simply nodded in response.
(OOC: if you want to know... Laney simply said, "Good-Bye, Brother" in French)

Cristian waved at Ash as he left. He nodded to Jeremy too. "Come on then missus, we've got some exploring to do!" He said, still holding the door open for her.

Laney gave one last wave in Jeremy and Ashton's direction before walking through the door. Once on the other side, she waited for Cristian patiently. She placed her hands behind her back and stared down the corridor. This one seemed rather spooky. She wasn't a fan of the dark nor of spiders but she had to suck it up in a place like this. A castle this big wasn't exactly going to have every corner lit up brightly. Carolanne looked back over her shoulder at Cris and gave a faint smile.

Cristian closed the door and followed Laney down the dim corridor. He could tell that she was uncomfortable down here. "Are you alright?" he asked concerned. He'd just explored down here before he ran into Laney and knew there were a few options of doors on where they could go through, however the left side was darker than this corridor.

Laney stared down the corridor then looked back at Cristian and nodded, "I think I'll be alright. Just haven't grown out of my childish fear of the dark quite yet," she said with a small smile. "Just as long as some lights stay on, I think I should be alright," she said with a laugh. Even though she had said she was alright, Laney stood close to Cris and even thought about looping her arm around his but didn't.

"Come on, it'll be fine. I'm here" he said reassuringly. He pulled out his wand. "Lumos!" He cast. A bright white light now exited the end of his wand, and he smiled at her. "See, I told you it would be okay" he said, sticking his arm out so she could hold onto him.

Laney grinned at him and held onto his arm. It was nice when someone actually understood her fear instead of picking on her. It wasn't her fault Daniel McLane never told her that monters didn't hide in the dark corners, for her, he told the opposite. She could still remember being that little six year old running her her her mom and step-dad; begging Daniel to check her room and instead all he said was 'pull the sheets over your head, Carolanne and the monsters won't get you.' How she hated the man. Ashton was always the one that saved her from the woogyman. Carolanne looked at his wand then looked back up at Cris, "Thank you," she said.

Cristian nodded at her and pulled his arm in a little closer so she felt safer. "No problemo. Do the same with yours if it will make you feel any better" he claimed. "So, do you want to find anywhere in particular?" he asked.

Laney laughed, "I might just do that if this hallway gets any darker," She said as they walked along. Laney bit her lip in thought, "Uh, not really. I was trying to find the potions classroom before I ended up in the astronomy tower but now I think that if I try to hard to find a particular place, I'll never find it. Lets just wander aimlessly and see where this corridor takes up," she said smiling at him.

Cristian gave a smirk. "Alright. Tell you what, lets make a map on the back of the one you have" he suggested, handing her his quill which he always kept in his back pocket.
