In her hands, Carolanne held a peice of parchment containing the map Ashton had made for her. She must've turned it the wrong way or something because she found herself staring at the Astronomy tower instead of the Potions Classroom. It wasn't like she had class or anything, she just needed to get familiar with the surroundings in hopes she wouldn't look like the lost little puppy she was when classes really did start.
With a sigh, she turned around and headed down the grand staircase praying she was going the right way this time. Suddenly, Laney felt the ground below her move. "Great," she muttered to herself as she clung to the banister of the staircase as it moved. Once it came to a hault, she hesitated on whether or not to continue her way down or to go back up and find another way.
She turned around and looked at the path behind her then turned back around and looked down at the path that lay before her. Biting her lip, she took a step forward, afterall you'll never know if you're going the right way unless you finish the journey. Laney twirled a peice of fallen hair around her finger as she continued down the corridor. Suddenly, the daydreamer found her body colliding with that of another students. Before she could fall down on her backside and bruise more than just her pride, she grabbed on to the shadowed face's arm only hoping they were stronger than she.

Cristian being a newbie, decided to spend the day getting familiary with the castle. He'd been told about the moving staircases, yet he wasn't quite aware that they would be this confusing. He managed to finally get off the stairs after what seemed like an eternity being stuck on them when they went nowhere. He;d escaped down a corridor somewhere and he thought this would be a gooder place to start if any, so he wandered the corridor to find nothing really of interest. He sighed and made his way back down the corridor where the stairs lay ahead, only to bang into a girl on the way. He jumped and saw her about to fall. She grabbed his forearm, and he leant forward and held onto her waist aswell as her arm that was clinging to his. He pulled her up a step to safety. "Are you alright? I didn't mean to give you a fright!" He said smirking, a little laugh left his lips.

He had done it! eight inches of pure genius. Jeremy wasn't about to toot his own horn, Ok, yes, he was. He was bound to get top marks. To top it all off, the Ravenclaw had finished it three days ahead of schedule. Granted, the position of Mars in relation to Neptune wasn't a very exciting paper, and maybe Jeremy should have saved his genius for a more important one, but it was pure gold, and let's face it, Jeremy had enough genius to go around.
Up to the astronomy tower he bound, but said sighed as the Professor wasn't there. It must be her break time. Jeremy neatly rolled his parchment up and placed it in the robe pocket. He would give it to her in person, he wanted to see her surprise and gain her praise. Such a stuck up jerk, Jeremy is.
He galloped down the astronomy tower stairs, defeated. He opened the door to the corridor and walked through. Ugh. He thought, what a waste of time. He walked hurriedly down the hall. He was going to spend what was left of his free time in the common room in front of the fire. Rounding the corner swiftly, he felt someone ram into him. Jeremy saw two people. It seemed as the a large collision had happen all at the same time. A boy and a girl. The boy seemed to have caught the girl steady on her arm. "Nice save." Jeremy said. A boy and a girl. Both Ravenclaw, like himself. However, Jeremy didn't know either of the two people. It seemed as though they were new, they didn't look like first years.
Seeing as Jeremy had bumped into the boy he asked. "You ok man?" He clapped his hand on his back. "Seems as though your a hero!" he said indicating the girl, whom he smiled at. "You ok?" he asked her. Jeremy was tall, dark, and handsome, and he knew it. He enjoyed charming people, and loved making friends. Perhaps he could kill two birds with one stone!
[your post snuck in on me! haha]

[Haha, sorry about that!]
Cristian turned around to hear a voice from behind him, and a pat on the back. "Yeah man, we're cool. We could of had a right fall if you'd joined in too!" He gave a quick snigger. He noticed the boy's clothes and saw he was a Ravenclaw too. "I'm Cristian" he said extending his arm towards him. He hoped to make friends, especially of his own house. [/font]

Carolanne blushed slightly as a hand grabbed her waist. It wasn't something that happened often to her, at least without warning. As she steadied herself, she noticed another student had joined the collision. With a slight nod, she answered, "I'm fine, thank you," she said the the one whom saved her. Again, she nodded but directed this answer to the newcomer, "Yes, I'm alright," she exclaimed, adding a small smile.
Laney cleared her throat and leaned backwards on her heels. She watched as the 'hero' introduced himself as Cristian. Laney smiled at both, "Laney McLane," she said extending both of her hands. She of course, had to be different, but then again, she was Ashton's sister after all.

Ash wandered through the corridors, bored out of his mind. Turning a corner, he came upon Jeremy Wheller, Cristian, and Laney. "Hey sis." He said with a smile walking towards Laney. He waved at the other's, "Hey Cris, hey Jeremy." He saw the look Jeremy was giving his sister, and glared slightly, giving the boy a warning look that said, 'Mess with my baby sister, and I'll hex you into next week!'

Jeremy smiled. "Jeremy Wheller." He took the boys hand and shook it firmly. He then saw Laney's hand and took it. He smiled. "McLane?" he said with a smirk. "Like Ashton McLane?" That explained why she was new. Ashton had also been new about a year ago. If this was his sister she must have followed him from where ever he came from, Jeremy had never asked.
"Speak of the devil." Jeremy said, seeing Ashton come down the corridor. He smiled as Laney, then turned back to Ashton, but seeing the look on his face, his smile faded. "Hey, Ash, I didn't mean nothing." Jeremy said, quite bewildered. They trying to kept light hearted he added. "Not if I hex you first." But then thought that maybe he shouldn't have said that. After all, Ashton never seemed to like Jeremy. Hopefully his sister would take after him, or Cristian for that matter.

Ash smiled without humor. "Can't be too careful." he replied through slightly clenched teeth. He wasn't sure why, but Jeremy was getting on his nerves. Then again, he was pretty protective of Laney.
((Actually, Ash was new during his fifth year. He's actually a seventh year))

Laney smiled at Jeremy and nodded, "That'd be by brother," she said before she turned her attention to her brother who had snuck up on them. She raised an eyebrow at Ash as he greeted the boys. She caught the glare that Ash was sending towards Jeremy. She tapped Ashton on the arm, "Ashton, be nice. No harm intended, alright? Just a small run in, nothing to get protective about," she said to him, giving him an innocent look.
Laney leaned forward as if telling a secret, "Don't mind him, Jeremy. It's in his nature to be the older brother," she said sending a faint wink to both Jeremy and Cristian. She was a natural flirt but hid it very well. If she liked someone, they'd never know unless she wanted them to.

Ash smirked at Laney, "And it's in your nature to be the bratty, annoying little sister." he retorted. He frowned slightly, "And how many times do I have to tell you I hate being called Ashton? It's Ash!"

Cristian watched as Ash gave Jeremy a look, he wasn't sure what was happening or what had happened between them, but he could tell just from Ash's face that they didn't get on. "Hey Ash" he said eventually, smiling at him. "So your Ash's little sister huh? That's cool. Your lucky, he's a nice guy!" he said nudging Ash a little, playfully, as he extended his hand and shook Laney's.

Laney laughed at Cristian's Comment, "Ha, lucky? More like cursed," she said playfully. She looked over at her brother and gave an innocent smile, "Ash is a nice guy," she said before turning back to Cristian, "But you don't have to live with him," she said with a huge grin. "Our house is mad! Mostly because of the two of us, but mainly, well, let's just say that the Rent's are the reason's both Ash and I are cursed," she said once more winking.

Cristian laughed at Laney. "Ah, say no more about it then" he gave a big grin to her. "So are you a new face 'round here too?" he asked, uncertain. He straightened out his shirt, and moved back a step so Laney wasn't on the edge of the stairs again.

Laney nodded in response to his question, "Yeah. Transfered in yesterday morning. I was attempting to get myself familiar with the castle, but now I'm lost," she said laughing. "Maps are horrible things. I should've just found someone and made them take me on a tour," she said twirling her hair around her finger again.

Cristian looked over at the map she had been given. "Hmm, I have no clue either. This map is rubbish!" He laughed again, then looked at Laney and gave her a smile. "Want to have a wander around together? It may be easier being with another newbie" he said, pointing to himself.
