Joshua slipped into the class, slightly late, and sat at a desk close to the back. He looked around frantically, then checked the board. Prior Incantato... Joshua thought for a moment until his mind recognised the incantation. He had used it himself a few weeks ago to discover who had enchanted his broom to smack him in the face every morning at 4am sharp.
1. An incantation used to discover the last spell cast from a particular wand in the form of a ghostly image.
2. To find out who is enchanting the objects in my room.
3. Aurors and law enforcement agencies within the Ministry. Particularly useful in the identification of dark wizards or murder suspects.
Joshua smiled, it was an easy one. He stood and handed it to the front, before returning to his seat. He shook his head, annoyed at the Huffelpuffs. He was eager to learn, to practise and to master. Not to watch idiots play with magic.

Staring at the Hufflepuff, who had clearly gone bonkers, Erys arched an eyebrow, fixing her with a look that just screamed 'you are officially lame. What the hell was she laughing about? Then again, something funny might have happened before she had arrived. Though the Slytherin just assumed the cackles were due to mental retardation. Ignoring them, the animagus tapped her long fingernails against the desk, watching Joshua enter the room and flashing a small smile at him. At least there was somebody here worth talking to. Disappointed he sat a row or two infront of her instead of joining her lone self at the back - but not showing it in the slightest, of course - Erys scribbled absentmindedly on a nearby paper, hoping her answer would give the professor the laughs he oh so desired.
At least she had stopped now, but the echo of her laughter seemed to ricochet down the halls. ugh. She couldn't argue with the thought of making the class a little less boring, but this really wasn't the time for petty jokes. Slytherin would never get what they deserved, because they deserved the best, and nobody ever seemed to offer that. A pity, too. Completely alone at the back of the room, the sixth year rolled her eyes, curling her fingers into a fist and resting her cheek on them. This spell was easy enough to perform without her having to concentrate it for the whole time. Right about now her mind pretty much wandered.

Alexis saw the girl smile and couldn't help but smile back. She remembered what it was like to be a first year, plus she was in a room full of students that were older than her. It was probably daunting so Alexis figured she'd take extra care with her. She had asked what year Alexis was in and she answered sweetly, 'Oh I am a third year actually. You're first right?' she was pretty sure of that but well didn't want to flat out assume. Getting her wand out she looked at it hoping that she could do the spell without a problem. 'Well hopefully I'm not awful at this.'

"You're going to do fine. Who cares if you can't work the spell some people just can't get down? It shows that we're human and we make mistakes." She smiled at the 3rd year. She rolled her wand in between her hands. "Good luck."

Dan walked to the front of the classroom and picked up the pieces of parchment the Slytherin’s had placed on his desk. The first made him laugh quite a lot as Erys seemed to be explaining a situation where she had been caught out with the spell. With a soft chuckle Dan looked up only to see her glaring at Charlie. Now there is one thing people must understand that in Dan’s presence you must never do anything to a Hufflepuff, even if it be an evil glare or a physical attack. His smile turned to a slight frown and he gave a quick glance at the other Slytherin’s work before ruffle picking up the parchments and stormed over towards the two of them.
“Well done Mr Rivas 5 points to you and Miss Grace 7 points for yours as it made me laugh.”
Slamming her work down on the table in front of her he gave her one last glare before turning his back and walking down in-between the tables and back to his desk. There was somthing about that look she gave to the other Hufflepuff he did not like. Watching the Slytherin for a while waiting for a reaction, but soon decided that maybe it would be best to make sure that the rest of the class where doing there work.

This professor seriously loved Hufflepuffs, it seemed. Which was really unfair, but she wasn't one to complain unless it was a serious issue. Right about now, Erys wasn't bothered but satisfied at gaining more points for Slytherin. SCORE! "Thank you, professor." She smiled pleasantly, noticing the glare on his face but taking no offense. Not startled in the least bit by the loud smack, the sixth year gathered the paper in her fingers, jamming it into her bag. With that over, she tapped her dried quill against the table, waiting for the teacher to go bother somebody else. She wasn't the only one who had completed work, there were others to check up on.
Offering Joshua a small smile and a nod of hello, Erys stretched, crossing her arms on the table to rest her chin on them. Having upped Slytherin's house points on more than a few occations today, she was satisfied, and felt deserving of a little rest. Not sleep, mind you, but the relaxing of her tired fingers.
