Helia twitched slightly at the mention of He-who-must-not-be-named and his uses for the charm, but smiled none the less and nodded her head, "That would be absoloutly brilliant!" What she would ever use the charm for, she wasn't quite sure, but it certainly sounded like a useful one to have in her repetoire. Especially with all the Ministry Officials lurking about... Never can be too careful. Besides, if you could use the protean charm as a way to communicate perhaps it could be altered for other uses as well...

Grinning as Emily jumped to the rescue of Loren making up an obvious lie to fail miserably at helping her friend. Will chuckled as the Ravenclaws ganged up on him, 3 on 1 eh? he thought tisn't fair on them. Surpressing a grin as points were taken from him, Will raised his eyebrows at Helia's comment knowing it would quite probably make Loren blush a deep crimson. Smirking at Helia he said mockingly "Hello Miss Goody Goody, so sorry to disturb the thing you live for, so what if there is tension between moi and Loren? At least we've got tension," he finished with a satisfied look upon is face, thinking he had probably hit on a jink in Helia's armour. Going back to the lesson at hand he contributed "Didn't Hermoine Granger only a fifth year at the time, use such a spell for the secret meetings fo Dumbledor's Army?" asked Will knowing almost certainly that he was right.

The Ravenclaw idly turned her head to look at Will as he called Helia a goody-goody. *Just because he's not impressing the teacher...must he always be the center of attention?* Emily thought wistfully. But he was right, about Hermione Granger. Maybe this meant she could have a go at the Protean charm as well.

Helia chuckled and shook her head, deciding, for the moment, that it was not worth the trouble to correct the poor boys misconceptions about her. There would be plenty of spare time for that after class.
For the meantime she continued to take notes on what the Professor said, and different ideas of her own about how the spell might be useful around the school and Hogsmeade. She'd stop by the library later to do some more research... Perhaps studying was a large portion of her life, but better to study and become wise than speak unknowingly and sound stupid.

Loren groaned angrily as points were deducted from Ravenclaw, something that was rarely her fault. She slouched down in her seat and sat glaring ahead with a childish pout on her face. Upon Helia's decision not to retaliate to yet another cheeky attack from Will she looked at her friend and whispered, 'You always manage to keep your cool, Helia. You're so lucky...' She gave a regretful little laugh.
Taking a deep breath, Loren sat up straight again and composed herself once more. She gave Will a mean little frown before proceeding to listen to Professor Hubbles.

She snickered yet more, then passed a neatly scrawled note to Loren which read:
The only reason I'm keeping my cool right now is by imagining William locked up with an angry Chimaera. Try it, it's much easier to ignore him when you do. She winked and another line added itself to the bottom
We'll get him later. She smiled in a sacron sweet manner, then folded her hands on her desk and stared at the front of the classroom, wondering if anything else was going to happen in the class or if they would be dismissed soon.

Loren leaned forward discreetly, reading the note through. A moment later she gave Helia a knowing smirk and put her tongue in her cheek, supressing a giggle that was caused by the thought Helia had indeed suggested. The last part of the message was certainly mood lifting, she had to admit.
Making sure Professor Hubbles was not looking, Loren silently magicked the note away before anyone else could spot it and hand them in. 'This is a fantastic wand by the way,' She gave Helia a happy wink.

Striker had sat back and listened in on the class, keeping to himself. He was relaxed and comfortable before a loud mouth Gryffindor entered the room. With a groan coming soon after Striker realised what sort of person the Gryffindor was, he sighed and banged his head on the table.
He listened in on the coversations, the class and his own misery that swelled to just below the surface. Without even a single thought, Striker stood and walked over to the Gryffindor, slapping the 6th Year across the back of the head. He looked sternly down at the boy.
'Shut up and listen. We're here to learn and discuss what the class is about, not your social life, so shut your mouth, mate and let us have some peace.' Striker said, before walking back to his desk and sitting down. He crossed his arms over his chest and sighed, knowing what he had done would dock his house some points, and also he knew it was uncharacterisitic of himself.

Professor Hubbles looked around at all his students and gave a groan. They were starting to get out of hand. He was just about to get his mind on track again to award the students on their knowledge of Hermione Granger and her use of the Protean when once again Dan new he was going to have to take action.
“Mr Harris and Mr Striker. This truly is not the behaviour I would be expecting of people your age. You can BOTH join Miss Hubbles in detention tonight!”
As he looked around he saw that Loren had a note in her hand with a groan he walked over and pulled it out of her hand. not even looking at it Dan screwed it up. "Sorry Miss Hayes but detention tonight with the others."
Shaking his head Dan looked around the room feeling rather disappoint with the way the lesson had ended. “I expect to see almost all of you here again next term and maybe then you will act better. No physical contact and please no note passing. You may leave. Go and enjoy the sun, see you next term. Miss Hubbles, Mr Harris and Mr Striker I will see you detention.”
With that Dan moved toward the board and wiped it clean, and with a small bow he walked out of the classroom.

"Wait! Professor!" yelled Derek running after Professor Hubbles. He wanted to learn how to use the Protean Charm. "Professor!" yelled Derek again. He caught up with the Professor and asked him,"I was wandering if you could privately teach me the Protean Charm." Derek smiled nervously. What was Professor Hubbles going to say?

Dan turned around to see a Ravenclaw standing behind him. With a slight frown Dan listened to what he had to say and tried to think of his own answer. He was being paid to teach the students and he had to commend the boy for coming forward and asking for private tuition. All his mind thought about the stacks of work that was piled up on his desk and the small aspects of a social life he did have Dan knew there was only one answer.
“The Protean charm? Well as I said before it is something that I would love to have a practise at. So if you would like to come back to the classroom at around half past seven tomorrow night.”
With that he inclined his head at the Ravenclaw and walked towards his office door opening it and slipping inside and the sound of the door locking rang out around the empty classroom.
