After Girty had got over her fit of laughter and managed to catch her breath back, wipe the tears from her eyes and then clear her throat. As soon as she started to pay attentions to the lesson Girty started to take offence that Dan had picked on her. Searching through her mind Girty wanted to find a spell that she could get her own back.
When her brother started to speck again Girty raised her wand and under her breath she cast the spell. “Silencio” Suddenly the voice of the Professor went although he continued to talk. With a smug smile she placed the wand back on the desk in front of her.

As Dan spun around to continue to talk to the class he noticed a few surprised faces and a very cheeky grin on Girty’s face. Opening his mouth he tired to get a single sound out only to find his voice was gone. Looking around he saw Girty was reframing from laughing. With a flick of his wand Dan did the counter spell and gained back his voice. He walked in-between the tables towards Girty, his eyes fixed on her wand.
“Miss Hubbles, although this is indeed a Charms lesson it is not right for you to cast spells on your teacher. It was indeed a very good cast and with out me noticing was very talented of you. So I will give you 5 points for that but….” Dan picked up Girty’s wand and placed it in his back pocket. “I will keep your wand till the end of the day and please report to my office tonight for a detention.”
“I want everyone to know that I do like having fun in my lessons. But I will not tolerate people casting charms that I have not granted permission for. The next person to do so will lose points.”
((Once again sorry for the rapid posting. It was to set the ground rules haha))

Loren gasped in surprise at Girty's daring to hex a professor, but soon began to giggle as her antics earned her a confiscated wand. It was indeed entertaining to see the two siblings mucking about, but she could not help but feel it was a slightly odd classroom situation - how could Professor Hubbles possibly be fair? Loren would have thought he would be irritatingly easy on his sister, but it seemed he was being especially harsh. Loren did not quite know what to make of it all.
'Professor,' she said, drawing his attention from the commotion. 'Will we only be learning charms, or will you give us a taste of jinxes and hexes as well?' The eagerness had filled her again. She desperately wanted to ask about stronger curses too, but supposed the professor would be too strict to allow such a thing.

As Loren asked her question Dan gave a loud laugh. Her enthusiasm for the subject was tremendous and gave him a sense of pride even though she was not in his house. He spun to face Loren and smiled. “Well Miss Hayes I think we could sometime dive into the realm of Jinxes and hexes for I always love the simple spells, maybe if I talk to the head teacher the older students might be able to look into some…Dark magic. Although I find that very unlikely. But thank you for the idea, 5 points to Ravenclaw.”
As Dan walked to the front once more he scratched the end of his nose and looked around. “Does anyone else have any idea, suggestions or indeed any Charms they would like to practise today? The real lessons will start next term.”

Chuckling at the antics all around him he grinned at Girty for the guts she had then smirked at Loren who as he had guessed was busy answering questions here, there and everywhere. If Will had had many classroom manners his hadn would have shot up into the air in eagerness, but with his big mouth he just answered "well if we can't do drak magic, which we probably know already," he said grinning "could we learn some defence spells? Like Protego, I've always found that one real useful in a duel, though it's not my fav, a confundus hex is always more useful I find seeing as though the best part of defence is attack" he said with a wry grin and polite smile to the teacher.

Loren looked over her shoulder, her expression turning dark as she saw that it was Will. He was certainly a charming person to be around, but Loren knew she had to force herself to realise he was also very cheeky, over confident and manipulative. 'Protego? You'd think a guy like you would already have those kind of basics already figured out,' she said with a sly grin. Tossing her hair over her shoulder she looked back toward the front, smugness filling her chest.

Helia had been rather quiet, simply taking notes since her ramble earlier, but the mention of next term shot a chill down her spine... She'd be graduated by then! Was there anything she still wanted to learn before she was so cruelly cast from the homey halls of Hogwarts?
She brushed the end of her quill beneath her chin thoughtfully, 'Come on Helia, surely there's something you're still curious about...' she thought to herself anxiously when the Gryffindor boy mentioned the shielding charm, "Wouldn't Protego fall under Defense Against the Dark Arts though? Being that it is a defensive spell." She thought for a moment, in most of her spell books Protego was listed as a defensive charm, but wouldn't the fact that it shielded you from advancing attacks automatically move it into the Defensive category of magic?
She shrugged and decided she'd ask the professor more about it later. A spell had come to mind that she was curious about, "What about the Protean Charm?"

Loren seemed to be quite scathing towards Will, perhaps he'd made a poor first impression he thought grimly. Chuckling at Loren's dry comment Will countered saying "It's an incredibly useful spell actually, though it may be basic I'd like to see you break through a strong one. Though I don't suppose you've ever had a real duel have you?" he said mockingly, with a wry grin. Then seeing his views were countered by another pupil whom he didn't know but respected instantly for her comment, he agreed "yeah I suppose so, but there are many spells which can easily fall into either category,"

Emily sat, tapping the feather-end of the quill on her desk. Any dark magic would most likely not include her, but there was always 5th or 6th year. William was coming off strongly confident of himself. She wondered if he was always like that.
When Helia mentioned the Protean charm, she looked at the the professor to see his reaction. She had heard it was a more difficult charm, but interesting.

Loren smiled at Helia's comment, causing Will's to be a completely useless contribution to the lesson. She gritted her teeth however when Will openly mocked her. 'I... I have actually,' Loren suddenly spat back through her teeth. It was a complete lie of course - but what else could she do to redeem herself? 'I've been in plenty for your information, and I'm also a dab hand as the protego charm - and... and many others!' She added hastily. She was full of anger now. Why did Will always manage to get the better of her?

The 4th year felt some kind of tension between Loren and Will.
"Yeah, Loren beat me in a duel before," Emily faltered, trying to help her friend out. Why there was tension between her and the Gryffindor she didn't know.

Loren looked at Emily with surprise, but quickly caught on and smiled appreciatively, a thankful look in her eye. 'Yes! Why, not last year Emily and I had a duel in the Ravenclaw common room!' Thankfully, Loren knew, a place Will could not have been. 'We're good friends now but like she said, I won!' Her voice was so high pitched and defensive now she wondered if the people in the next classroom could hear.
Looking once again at Emily, she could not expressed the gratitude she felt. I'll pay you back for this! she willed to her fellow Ravenclaw.

Helia looked between her three class mates and rolled her eyes. Petty arguments, always ruining class for her... "Could you two please stop flirting for five minutes so I can hear what the Professor has to say about the Protean Charm?" she asked, looking between Loren and Will, "I mean, it's obvious you two are having a hard time expressing your feelings, but trying to hide them behind arguments about duels during the middle of class does no one any good."
She clenched her teeth to keep from laughing, then looked over at Emily and winked, as if to say "Nicely done" without having to struggle with the bout of laughter that was threatening to escape.

Emily suppressed a laugh at Loren's high-pitched agreement and what Helia was saying, wondering if any of it might be true. She grinned, hoping Loren wouldn't feel she owed her or anything. Maybe it would put Will back in his place, even a little.

Dan was most intrigued by the mention of the spell by Helia. Sitting back on his chair he took a deep breath and tried to think of how to start.
“Well the Protean Charm is a very difficult one to master, and I suppose was most famously used by You-Know-Who and the Dark Mark he put on his servants. It basically means that you can contact loads of people in one easy way. This is done by the object you have cast the spell on changing colour, a number on it or even moving. So you may find that the Ministry may have something like this, possible even the ones here at school.”
Dan gave a small smile. “I imagine you already know this Miss Ollivander. For me however I have never had to use the spell. But I have always wanted to have a go. Thank you for the question Miss Ollivander.”
His gaze then fell on the other people in the class. “Miss Hayes and Mr Harris please will you stop shouting across my classroom when one of your classmates have asked a question. I’m sorry but I will have take 5 points off both your houses.”
Dan took a deep breath and looked at Helia. “If you want I could have a play around and possible during the holidays you and I could work on it? You seem to have a gift for charms”
