Faye paced her classroom steadily, the evening sunlight creeping through the small gaps around the mirror. Dust and particles passed the beams gently, tumbling in the air, the only things stirring.
Faye had been waiting for Girty for almost fifteen minutes. She had felt Girty was not in tune with her full potential, and so Faye had chosen to have a private sesson with her this evening to develope some possible skills. Tonight she planned on getting Girty to submerge herself in the Void...

Girty slowly walked outside the door of the class room. She breathed in deeply and patted the side of her bag which she had with her. As she pushed open the door it took a while for her eyes to adjust to the light before being able to make out Professor Vedette.
"Sorry I'm late i was trying to prepare myself." She smiled shyly as she walked farther into the room.

Faye smiled, relieved that Girty was finally here. "That's quite alright, Girty. At least you are prepared. We are going to be doing a lot of relaxing this session." she moved to the center of the room and kneeled down on the floor. She gestured for Girty to move closer. "Sit down, dear. For starts, are you familiar with the act of one wizard entering another wizards mind? Muggles would call it mind reading." she asked, hoping Girty would know the answer.

Girty walked closer and slipped off her bag. As she slowly knelt down opposite the professor she thought to herself about the question she asked. Mind reading erm...I saw this in a book." She took a deep breath and closed her eyes. "Leg..Legilimency" She opened her left eye looking at the professor to see her reaction.

Faye nodded. "Precisely. Five points. Yes, the act of entering someone's mind is Legilimency. Today I will be performing a safer, weaker form of Legilimency on you, so that we may connect our minds. Not many Animagi have learned this way, but my own tutor when I was your age showed me that it is an extremely effect way of preparing the spirit for animal invasions." she tossed her hair over her shoulder and breathed deeply. "Once I am in your mind, I will not push enough to see your thoughts, but we shall communicate, and thus be in the Void. Can you tell me the act that of preventing external penetration, Girty?" she asked.

Girty's whole body became tense at the thought of what the professor may do. She then took a deep breath and decided to respond to the question. However she could not think of the answer. She racked her mind and flopped on the floor. She shook her head and looked at the celling.

"It's alright, Girty." Reassured the professor. "Just relax. Part of entering the Void is managing breathing exercises. And there is no one else here - you do not need to worry about getting it wrong." She placed a hand on Girty's shoulder. "Just breath and think."
Faye began to take in long slow breathes. "Do as I do at my pace."

Girty sat up and followed the breathing patterns of Vedette. She soon felt at ease and went through her mind again for the answer. "Occlumency. I'm convinced of it." She looked back at her tutor trying to keep with her breathing rhythm.

"That's right, five points." Faye said calmly, now closing her eyes and delving into her breathing even more. "A Legilimens and an Occlumens are the proper titles for the beings who have these skills. I myself posess both talents. To some degree everyone is capable of Occlumency, but they have to work at it. Right now - and I know it sounds odd - but I plan to break down whatever wall you have already built up, Girty. Your breathing is helping you open your mind for me..."
Faye joined her hands in her lap. "Are you ready, Girty? Or would you like a little longer to breathe?"

Girty breathed in deeply and slowly nodded her headed. "No better time like the present." Her normal self was fighting through the nerves and a smile appeared on her face as she continued to breathe. "Do i need to do anything to make this work better?" She asked wondering if anything from closing her eyes to standing on her head would help.

Faye opened one eye, smiling. Girty was waiting for an asnwer, but while her concentration was drawn for a moment, Faye took hold if her hands. The best moment was when the reciever was most relaxed, and Girty was ready.
Everything went black now as their minds rushed towards each other. As they met there was an impossibly bright light, and then they were both floating, seemless and empty and bodiless. The air around them felt as thick as water, like melted cold silver, icy against their eyes.
"Welcome to the Void, Girty." smiled Faye without moving her lips. She looked different now, younger. Her hair was shorter and her clothes were different. "How do you feel?"

Girty felt out of breath as if she had fallen at a fast speed but yet she felt full of energy and as if not an once of tiredness filled her body. "Where I'm" she crocked. She looked around at the blackness and the lack of anything around them.

"Your breathing created a door, Girty. This is your mind as it is at this very moment. I expect you are wondering why it is so blank?" she smiled. "Your breathing distracted you so that you were focused entirely in the physical world. You temporarily abandoned your mind. Soon, as you become more steady, images shall start returning. We may see memories, fantasies, fears, hopes - so don't be afraid. Hold my hand so I don't loose you. This is foreign to me!" she laughed.
Faye willed them forward now, and the coldness blasted against them as they flew. "Concentrate - do you see anything yet? A memory perhaps?"

Girty lightly took the hand of the professor as images of Girtys past started to appearer. The land below them went green as an image of a small town park slowly appeared. Girty gripped the hand of Vedette harder. She knew what memory this was. "Why has my own mind brought me here?" She asked

Faye watched the interest the scene before the unfolding. A lush park flourish. She felt Girty squeeze her hand harder. "You tell me, Girty. This memory, being the first memory we've come across, clearly indicates some sort of significance. Shall we go closer?" she asked, but before Girty could answer they were already diving towards a materialising lake...
