Right, anyone else agree that the Big Ridd Plot has got far too complex.. so that no one really knows what is going on, so it's dragging on forever and therefore is becoming/has become boring?
There were so many awesome ideas for it, but I feel that its got a bit too much and has definately gone on long enough.
I just wanted to know if others felt this too.. and if you can think of any solutions..
And whether anyone reckons a new SIMPLE plot is in order?

i agree. it's getting a bit confusing. it's hard to follow. plus the fact that most of the people that were in it, don't really come here anymore. so it's kind of pointless. but i do have an idea, you know that 7th year is the last year as a student, well i was thinking that starting this term we could have like a graduation ceremony for all the graduating seventh years at the end of each term. i mean, we've never done that before, so why don't we try it? it could be fun.

Are you up for a new, simpler plot then?
As for last years.. hmm.. interesting.
Well lets put that question out there too: Who would like to see Seventh Year Graduation Ceremonies?

I quite agree. We need a simpler plot, and I do like the seventh year graduation ceremony idea.

Awesome =)
If anyone has any ideas for a simple plot by the way, post it here. We need all the ideas we can get... whilst remembering to keep it nice and simple. Heh.

heres one it might not good but its some thing I see in the post a lot. We could have a conflict between the rouges and the Ministry then have the school caught in the middle. Does thats to complicated.

Either that or keep the Ministry and Rogue hating each other, then have some other big bad thingie come forward without each side knowing and the only way to stop it is for the Rogues and the Ministry to join together?

I think that Sarie has hit on what is happeing at the moment really. The Rouge and Minstry are just useing Hogwarts as their playground and the students get sucked into it.
I think it is a shame as the whole 'hidden power' was a great idea but we came up with it a year ago and nothing has happened since...so yes I think maybe it is time to move on.
I do like the idea of keeping the Rouge and Minstry in it as a few people have established chracters in those roles and it will be a shame to see them go! But then i do like the idea of them haveing to work together but then that then means we have to think of something that would unite them...

Hmm I like the idea of a twist with the Ministry & Rogue Wizards..
So perhaps if we scrap the "powerful item" aspect? the corrupt ministry aspect? RRL?
Then just have simply Rogue VS Ministry? Rogue want to take over?
Why has the Rogues/Ministry come to Hogwarts though...
What could this big evil that unites them together be...
Both answers need to be simple.. hmmm.. Am I making this complicated again? ha.

The Seventh Year Graduations thing is a fun idea, no idea how it would work but we've got clever people here that we can work something out. But I don't think the Rogues & the Ministry would join, their aims are different and something I don't think it's something they can get over. The RRL and the Rogues maybe but not the Ministry. I tell you why I think that it's because the RRL and the Rogues want to take power while the Ministry want to keep the power it has. The 'hidden power item' thing was such a fantastic idea, mystrious and all (coz I've got no clue what's going on there. O <<that's the loop & I'm not in it ) If we could find a way to make that the reason that these three groups are at Hogwarts. People in the loop must just run with this on. I-dea!!! *light bulb* either the RRL or the Rouges could take over Hogwarts to get to said 'hidden power' and then exciting things can happen where everyone gets involved, including the students.

The RRL didn't really want to take power for themselves. They just wanted to get rid of the corrupt parts of the minstry i.e. Deitrich.
I'm happy with keeping the current plot (as I said, seems a shame to leave it completely)... but theres just the risk of it dragging out again... hmm.. how can we make it simpler?? Perhaps we should try to finish the Rogue/Minstry/RRL plot asap.. as in do the final "Big Battle" I'd always imagined =P, then create a new plot following it? Meh, I dont know. Keep the ideas coming and ignore me, ha.

If we go with a hidden power theme, I really think it should be within the Hogwarts students.
Like their tired of the ministry power controlling them, and the rogues trying to sneak in to smite the ministry workers? They could be trying to fight back for their.. freedom (not the right word) or something.
7th year graduation might be hard to do, with all the coming and going characters. You don't want to be excluded, but you also don't want extra people.

Yeah that would be good, having the Rogues decide something like, The ministry isnt good enough to run the wizarding world anymore and think that they would be better doing it. Though the Ministry try and stop them kinda thing. Well the Ministry could have done something to affect each of the Rogues, and since the HQ for the Ministry is Near Hogwarts so to speak, they have all gathered there for the confrontation? My idea for this, though it may be sucky. Instead of using another Organisation, since we already have three being the Ministry, Rogues and the RRL. Why not... Say... Have the Ministry and Rogues keep fighting trying to overthrow each other, then have the RRL worm their way up trying to overthrow them both. Make it so everyone thought the RRL was good, better people than both the Rogues and the Ministry, but say the RRL always had a darker purpose kind of thing?

Post by Nicholas McNiven on Dec 5, 2007 19:39:35 GMT
Although it is an interesting idea there is the small problem of the Red Rose League not actually having a leader. McNiven is just a guy in charge of this small branch…he is nothing more then a murder who is looking for revenge against the ministry and wants to kill Illyana. And other people who are in it are members of the ministry who want the corrupt parts washed away. They want the old ministry of before.
Yes complex and annoying background story which for most I suppose could be ignored but you need to think about how it builds up a certain character. For example McNiven does not want power or responsibly he looks for revenge, which means he is not really the type to try and become the new ministry of magic.
But then you hit the problem that the majority of the people who have/had RRL members are not as active as they once were. I think there were only 5 people to 7 characters and 2 have not been on the site in a very long time. So maybe this is the sort of plotline to boost their ranks and get them involved again.
(Have I actully made any sense? Well I suppose that is for you to puzzle over and me to be told hahaha! I guess it was just how my train of thought went when I wrote this haha.)
