Boggleworth stumbled into the common room, yawning loudly having just finished his rounds he dived for the sofa, and fell instantly into a deep un-troubled sleep for a pleasant change. Little did he know there was at least one other awake at this unearthly hour...

Girty groaned as she heard the sound of movement. As she lifted her head her parchment stuck to her face and flopped around the table. Squinting in the darkness she saw the figure of someone stumble around.
"You can at least put the fire on." She moaned and pulled out her wand. A line of flames came out the end and light the fire up filling the room with a warm glow. "See much better.....oh sorry Bog....i though you were someone else!"

Waking with a start at the sound of girty's voice he muttered "No problem," he yawned loudly, "I hadn't noticed you there Girt...how are you? What you doing up at this hour?"

Girty looked over and laughed at Bog before picking up the piece of parchment that had been stuck to her face. "Well i must have been doing some potions." She giggled and let the paper float back onto the table.
Stiffly she stood up from the desk and walked over toward the sofas. "No point asking where you have been."

Thom pressed his pillow tighter over his ear as he rolled over in bed, the muffled voices below in the common room having woken him from a pleasant dream about Novella only a moment before. Although the pillow was thick with feathers, it did nothing to stop the droning voices. Huffing loudly he sat up and grabbed his wrist watch, holding it up to his lit wand.
'One in the morning!' he hissed loudly, quickly silencing himself so as not to wake Dax.
Muttering under his breath, Thom kicked on his slippers and slouched down to the stone stair case to find Girty and Boggleworth talking leisurely by the fire. 'Do you mind?' he whispered hoarsely.

'I don't think they do, Thom.' Leigh said his voice still at the normal pitch as he walking into Common Room to see who was still up. He did this every morning, to see who was stuck studying, or whom had fallen asleep on the couches. Leigh had caught several students even trying to sneak out, catching them before they could go anywhere. With a smile, he had caught 3 students out of bed.
'Now, why is it that on a night where I'm happy, I find 3 of you still up and wide awake?' Leigh's question was more rhetorical than anything else, as he looked from student to student.

Thom ground his teeth manacingly. 'Well I was alseep until these two decided they were the only people in Hufflepuff Tower.' he muttered impatiently, pulling someone's disguarded Quidditch cloak from the back of a chair and wrapping it around his torso. Although the fire roared, Thom still felt rather chilled.
It was then that he remembered Professor Addis's outburst at the Ministry in the Great Hall. 'What exactly are they trying to do, sir?' he asked the man, guessing that his head of house would already know what he was talking about.

Girty looked over at Thom when he came down the stairs and started to complain and when the professor turned up she rolled her eyes.
"I was studying, See!"
She point to the parchment and books all over the table and the marks on her face where the wet ink had dried onto when Girty fell asleep on it.

'You don't have to talk when you're doing homework, you know.' he said matter-a-factly, shuffling over to the chair closest to the fire and sitting down. 'I'm wide awake now,' he looked at the other three accussingly. 'Maybe it won't be so bad to finally get out of here next term and find my own house.'
Thom considered what he had said for a moment, wondering if he really did feel alright about having to leave Hogwarts at the end of this year. His younger brother would of course be starting in September, and even though Thom had stayed in Hogwarts as long as he could, he would not be here for his younger sibling...

Boggleworth smirked at Thom's He laughed good heartedly but said in a serious tone "So you're set on leaving us then Thom? I'd be sorry to see the back of you, you're a good friend, though obviously a little...how can I put this, grumpy at times, especially when woken" he chuckled. "But what makes you want to flee Hogwarts so?" He asked curiously.

'Why can't my students keep on topic for more than a minute?' Leigh sighed, quietly speaking to himself. 'Before Thom answers that question, Henry, I will answer his question. The Ministry are simply nitwits and can't keep their greedy noses outside of events that don't involve them, that's why.'
Leigh looked at the three students, eyeing each one of them. 'You will all have to be aware that because of my actions you'll be under direct scrutiny with that old witch. She may have eyes and ears everywhere, but so do I and they will speak if listened to.' Leigh continued, glancing up to the portrait hanging above the fire.

Thom laughed humourlessly. 'I'm ninteteen,' he said heavily. 'I think it's time I buggered off and got a real job rather than loiter round here, prenteding I'm doing this stupid appretenticeship.' he said, leaning back in the chair and looking somewhat regretful.
He then looked sideways at Professor Addis. 'Surly they're not that bad? All they're doing is nosing around...' he muttered carefully, wondering if he was saying the wrong thing to the wrong person.

Dax shot up in his bed and looked around the room. The dorm room was open and light was flooding in. He looked to find Thom and he was not there.
"Bloody idiot" He jumped out his bed and looked for his slippers and ran down the stairs. As he entered the main room he saw a load of people awake. He rubbed his eyes and looked at them all.
"What the hell is happening here! And Thom close the bloody door next time!"
Dax stood with his hands on his hips and looked at everyone in the room with an evil glare.

'And that nosing is in a place where you are for most of the year, a place where I'd believe would be your home away from home by now.' Leigh replied, but not too harshly. '19? Then get out of here, I hear they need a person at Hogsmeade for trash removal. Pays 50 galleons an hour, for 10 hours a week. Is that enough for you Thom?' Leigh smirked cheekily, looking at the Potions Apprentice.

Thom wrinkled his nose at Professor Addis. 'You saying I'm good for nothing?' he questioned, thoroughly insulted. 'I have got an Outstanding or two, you know. I'm not going to be picking up Hogwarts' rubbish!' he stood up, his brow furrowed in annoyance.
For a moment he considered Professor Addis. A small smirk appeared on his face, and without looking at the man he said, 'You never know. I might even get a job at the Ministry...'
