"Oh, Fern," Grace said, frowning, "I'm sorry, I didn't mean to hit you so hard!" She frowned at him and bit her lip, worried she had bruised his ego. But once again she stood back to watch the boys hack at each other.

"He's fine. Lets go Fernand!" He bowed and pointed his wand at Fernand. He focused all his power at his spell. "Stupefy!" Mort screamed, and he bursted out laughing as Fernand went unconscious.

Grace was amazed at the strength of the spell. She ran to Fernand's side and patted him lightly on the cheek. "Fern," she whispered sweetly into his ear, "Fern, good morning!"

"Mhmm?" Fernand said opening hs eyes slightly,and woke to Grace's beautiful face. He smiled and groand as his chest hurt badly. "Hello." he wispered and choked out to her smiling broadly.

Grace smiled widely, "Mort hit you pretty hard with that one!" Grace looked at Fernand's chest, where the spell had hit. She softly ran her hand over the spot; it was very warm. She sighed, "boys!" She pushed herself up and looked at Fernand on the floor. "Come on!" she smiled.

Fernand groaned as Grace touched his chest but liked it all the same. He slightly stood up and looked at Mort. He felt sudden respect for him, but hated him all the more. He pointed his wand at him and shouted "Stupefy!". Fernand laughed as Mort screamed and fell to the floor unconcsious.

Grace looked at Fernand, amazed at he had recovered so soon. She moved out of the way and sat on a cushion near the outer wall. She watched the two with much curiosity; boys really are funny creatures, she though. She watched them and began to day dream about Bog and Mand- no, no, no, not any more!

"OK 15 points to Slytherin for that one Fernand, but enough is enough! Any more attacking the other person when they are not looking you will lose 50 points and detention for a week! Really!" Mandrake said and he turned and sat by Grace. "Can you believe them?" he asked her looking back at Mort.

Grace had told Jac about this dueling club she was thinking of joining. Jac thought it sounded like a smashing idea. So, standing outside of the room, she took a deep breath, checked her hair, then knocked. She shrugged and walked in.
There were a few people there already, including Grace. "Hi all," she said, and concentrated on keeping her hair to it's normal colour. "Glad I'm not the first person," she thought aloud and closed the door. "So," she said, turning to face everyone, "how are we all this fine day?"

Grace looked at the door as she heard a familiar voice. It was Jac. Grace jumped up and ran to her. "Oh, Jac," she said excitedly, "I'm so glad you made it. After I finished my rounds on the train, I tried to find you but I couldn't! For a moment I thought you'd forgotten."

Mandrake noticed the two new students enter the club. "Why hello you two! Lets get you two started right away. The first thing we are going to go over is the Expelliarmus charm. You simply say the incantation of 'Expelliarmus' while your wand is directed at your opponent. Its easy enough. Derek why don't you try it on Jac." mandrake said welcoming the two newcomers.
