Mandrake hustled around the empty classroom organizing his preparations as he went. This was the first dueling lesson of the year and he wanted to start out with a bang. When he heard the door creak open he stopped running around immediately and watched the door as the person entered.

Grace smiled at the professor as she saw she was the first to arrive. "Hello," she said as cheerfully as she could muster, "I took you're advice and desided to come." She walked towards the professor and looked around. "So what we ganna do today then?"

Mandrake smiled at Grace. "Ah eager are we? Well I planned on teaching the proper ways of dueling, and refresh you people up on your spells, and teach some you may not have covered. See if Addis taught you guys well. Excited?" Mandrake asked looking at Grace and then around the room.

Grace was more nervious then excited, but she didn't say so. "Hmm," she mumbled, "very."

Mort walked into the classroom he knew as the Dueling club. He wanted to be prepared for anything. He planned on being the first one there but the Professor and Grace were already there. He sighed and entered nervously. "Hello all." he said to them with a wave.

Grace turned and smiled as Mort spoke. "Hi, Mort," Grace said, relieved she was no longer alone with the intence professor. "How are you?" she asked, walking towards him, "how were your holidays?"

"I'm good, you? My holidays were just peachy, yours?" Mort asked leaving out the part where he fought a rabble of Trolls over the holidays.

Grace's face fell at the question of her holiday. "I don't want to talk about it," she whispered, grumpily. "But I guess I'm good. Prof Black told me to come here to take my mind off things so I'm here. How about you?"

"I just felt like I needed some Dueling training. Can we begin?" Mort asked Prof. Mandrake excitedly.

"Ok Well I'm sure you guys know Expelliarmus, but lets see you try it. Grace you start and try it on Mort." said Mandrake smiling.

Grace nodded and, without facing Mort, pulled out her wand and pointed it at him, "expelliarmus," she said firmly. Mort's wand flew to the opposite side of the room and landed with a clatter on the floor.

Mort ran to retreive his wand. he picked it up and smiled at Grace. "Great job!" he winked.

Grace smiled mischievously, "I caught him unawares! But you're right, I should have faced him." She smiled at Mort, then added, "sorry!"
