Joker Thread!
It had been a very strange conversation that had lead to this turn of events, admittedly alcohol had been flowing, there was a card game on the go and unfortunately for Miss Girty Hubbles she had lost the bet and somehow ended up becoming the ring leader of her brother’s crazy idea! The theory was that there was not enough camaraderie in the school (or so it felt like it after a couple of bottles of Stump the Goblins finest ale) and it was decided that a free for all Quiddich game would take place where students, teachers, staff, shop keepers, ex students, ministry members…well as you can get the picture…anyone could take place and posters were placed all around the castle, Hogsmeade and even in the Daily Prophet!
And so it was this reason that Girty Hubbles now stood on the Quidditch pitch in her old Hufflepuff Quidditch robes with a broomstick in one hand and the box at her feet that held all of the Quidditch balls. The point of this game was to have fun, there were no rules, there could be however many players and Girty had to try and control them all…oh boy; this could be a busy afternoon.
O.C: Okay as you can tell this is a game of Quidditch for everyone. There are NO rules! It is just a reason for us to have a laugh and for our characters to have a muck about. The Golden Snitch will appear for people to attempt to catch it buy goals can be scored at any time by anyone and yeah…basically we shall make it up as we go along hehe. So please…enjoy!

Rosa didn't know that first thing about Quidditch except what she saw when she went to the games. Sports was more her sister's speed Rosa was more the bookworm type, but Paige kept badgering her about going saying that the idea of a school wide Quidditch game would be fun. Rosa tried to protest but when her sister wanted something it was really hard to resist for too long. So Rosa found herself walking to the pitch which she was still a bit surprised to find she knew just where it was. She didn't own a broom so she supposed she would have to use a school one which she knew was stored in a shed near the changing rooms. So she went in and grabbed whatever broom she saw first. Again she knew nothing of what brooms were good she was just hoping she could stay on it. So she walked out to see if anyone else was there yet her black robes billowing around her as the wind picked up a bit. Her eyes scanning the pitch when she spotted someone walking over to that someone she noticed it was Girty Hubbles sister of the Headmaster and all in all popular girl at school. Walking over to her Rosa smiled "So was this your idea" she asked curiously since that is what she had heard from her sister and from some others though Paige wouldn't reveal the details about how this little venture came about. Ellie walked down to the quidditch pitch all decked out for a game. She worse her Hufflepuff quidditch robes, sensible sneakers, and chasers gloves. Her hair was down in cascading curls, but the front was pinned back, out of her eyes. Her broom had been polished and trimmed the night before and was gleaming in the sun. She thought that she would be decently intimidating in the game they were playing; after all, who would want to mess with the head girl and Hufflepuff quidditch captain?
Ellie reached the pitch and saw the coordinator extraordinaire of this whole big deal. Ellie had herd about the free for all game from Professor Hubbles himself. He seemed to be a little hungover, but in a rather good mood. Ellie found out that he had won a bet and this was the egg that had hatched. Anyone could play, and everyone could play. Of course it was to build a little friendship between houses, but like every other student that stepped out on to the pitch, Ellie was there for Hufflepuff, no matter how much she stood for inter-house relationship with her Head Girl badge pinned safely on her chest.
"Ellie to the rescue" She said as she walked up to Girty. "At your service Madame Hubbles." Ellie smiled. The Hubbles we certainly Ellie's favorite family. She hadn't met one yet that she didn't like. "I'm here to help you control the masses when they start rolling in." Ellie said to Girty. "Thought I'd actually do something with being Head Girl for once." JP:25

Girty felt like she had spent an age standing around waiting for people to show up, but as the first black dot started to approach her she glanced down at her watch and noticed that only a couple of minutes had passed. Her stomach was turning, she felt nervous for some reason and she did not know why…she just hoped this would be a success and a bit of fun for everyone. The first person who was approaching was a Ravenclaw, Rosalaind wasn’t it? Well whatever her name was Girty was just glad that someone had showed up. “Hey there! Nope, this has my brother written all over it.” Girty chuckled as she gave the Ravenclaw a hug. “I just lost the bet meaning I had to sort it all out.”
With a small laugh Girty noticed that over her shoulder she could see a bright yellow blur coming closer and straight away she knew it would have to be Ellie. “Excuse me.” Girty muttered to the Ravenclaw as she ran over towards the Hufflepuff, throwing her arms around her in a tight embrace (okay…so Girty still might have had a little bit of alcohol running through her veins) and laughed as her friend mentioned she would help control the masses.
“Pish-posh.” Girty grinned as she walked with Ellie back over towards Rosalaind. “You are one of the best players we have ever had on the Hufflepuff house team, you my friend will be playing.” Still finding it hard to conceal her smile Girty looked over at the two people around her and grinned. “Did you guys see anyone else coming? Hope more people do turn up.”

Post by Harrison Greg on Sept 18, 2010 10:40:32 GMT
As Head Boy Harrison felt like it was his duty to be there representing the student body at all major events and activities in the hope of creating some sort of union among everyone in the school body! Really? If you believe that of Harrison Greg then you would believe anything. The reason Harrison was heading down to the Quidditch pitch was to show off, in particular it was to show off in front of a certain Hufflepuff who just happened to be the head girl. This was the reason he spend even longer looking in the mirror in the morning (if you could believe it) making sure he looked perfect and also why he had given us broom a good old polish to make sure it would stand out a mile.
This was why as he walked out onto the Quidditch pitch a smug little smile filled his face as he caught glimpse of the brown hair of Ellie dancing around in the wind. So naturally, he headed straight towards her; stopping so that their shoulders gently grazed passed one another. He heard the end of her conversation with the Headmasters sister and gave a small chuckle. “And you can not do anything as Head Girl without your Head Boy by your side.” He joked flashing them all an innocent smile.
It seemed to Harrison that Girty was a little worried that not many people where going to turn up for the game and something in him made him want to reassure the tired looking girl that it would be okay. “Oh yeah, I saw a couple more heading down with brooms.” He lied quickly, his face not letting him down as his smile remained fixed. “Can not wait for the game to start though, been a while since we had a game of good old Quidditch!” JP:5

Ash had heard that there was a Quidditch game going on down at the pitch. A free-for-all, no rules, anyone can play game. The best kind of game out there.
So, deciding to abandon his duties as an apprentice for awhile, the former Ravenclaw made his way down to the pitch. There, he discovered Girty, Rosalind, Ellie, and Harrison. "Hey guys"
He smiled as he waved at all of his friends. There were times he couldn't believe it had been five years since he'd first come here. Yet it had been. Had he really just had his 20th birthday? Scary...JP:60

Holly had been on a date with a seventh year Ravenclaw when he had told her about this free-for-all quidditch game he was headed too. Sport, competition, it was all just too much for her and she almost ran out without paying for her portion of the lunch they had shared. With a sweet smile and a small giggle, she didn't need to because he offered to pay for her in the end so with that sorted she sprinted to get her gear on and headed towards the quidditch pitch, the Ravenclaw, whatever his name was, long forgotten.
When she got the the pitch, Holly was surprised that there were only a small handful of people there. Quidditch, being one of the most exciting things in the wizarding world, usually drew crowds in flocks and swarms. Hmm, she shrugged. Perhaps she was simply early. Seeing the few standing on the pitch, Holly ran to join them. She recognised on of the girls as a Ravenclaw she had classes with but couldn't remember her name. The head girl and boy were there as well and obviously Hols recognised them, the head boy Holly had always thought was tremendously good looking. And there too was Miss Hubbles and Mr Laurent.
Holly beamed around at all of them as she strod towards the group. In her sweetest sing-song voice, laced with her thick Scottish accent, she mused and waved her hand around in gesticulation, " 'tis a luverly deh fir some Quidditch, 'tis it not? Wicked scheme, Mizz 'Ubbles." She added a wink and stole a glance at Harrisson to see if he was looking at her, smiling broadly at the possibility. JP:70

Post by Tyler Monroe on Sept 18, 2010 18:24:17 GMT
Tyler has been quite looking forward to a day off today, maybe going down to Hogsmeade and having a small drink at Madam Puddifoots while reading the paper. But as soon as the rumours started to spread around school Ashton had come barging into the hospital wing and badgered him into coming down to join in and ‘play’. He had begrudging agreed at the time and an hour after his boyfriend had bounded out of the hospital wing like a hyper puppy the realisation set in…he had not been on a broom in years. With a small sigh however Tyler started to put a bag together of bandages and the odd potion before he headed down to the pitch, if it was a free for all there was going to be some damage and injuries…it was just all too predictable. Even when walking out onto the Quidditch pitch he felt out of place, too old compared to all these youthful students who were bursting with energy. Clinging onto his shoulder bag he swallowed hard and walked over next to Ashton, wrapping an arm around his waist using him more as a protective shield from the strangers then anything else. “Morning all.” He grinned sheepishly at the rest. “I thought you might need a bit of medical help.” He would be willing to get on a broomstick but Ashton would have to persuade and beg him a hell of a lot to get him up in the air…but then he was known to cave into his demands so maybe he would end up in the air. Post by Roslynn Venice on Sept 19, 2010 0:39:37 GMT
Flying broomsticks were a brilliant invention on the part of wizards and witches. Even Venice knew that as she stalked unhappily toward the great oval lined with looming, colourful towers: the Quidditch Pitch. Her lips twisted in disdain as she drew close, making her way toward the Slytherin tower closest to the school. She had always been a good flyer, staying in sturdy, steady control of her broom all through her lessons. But the sixth-year Slytherin had never been, and would most likely never be, a Quidditch fan. The sport was barbaric to say the least, nearing in brutality to the Canadian game of hockey, or even the American's dearest: football. To Roslynn, sports that required more brute force than skill were more than anything, a sickening display of humanities de-evolution.
As she started up the steps to the viewing area of the tower, Venice again questioned why she was bothering to attend. But the answer came to her in the stinging rebuke of her mother's wisened, if irritating, voice: "How can one expect to rule the world if they don't pay attention to what's going on within it?" Of course, the quote was a terrible exaggeration: Roslynn had no intention of taking over the world. But taking over Slytherin, and possibly Hogwarts? Well, how was that so far out of the realm of possibility?
A smile came to her blood red lips as she passed into the open air high above the quidditch pitch. With her nose far too high for it to be comfortable, Venice looked down at the small group of people assembling below her. From this high up, they looked like tiny bugs: but this point of view was hardly a change of pace for Slytherin's newest Queen.[/size] JP:69

Post by Castiel Warwick on Sept 19, 2010 1:25:20 GMT
There had been some incredible congestion in the stairs leading down from the Gryffindor tower; it seemed a flock of first years with shiny new broomsticks had attempted to race to the Quidditch pitch first. A decision that had involved not flying or even making it down there but a mosh pit of human bodies and limbs twisted around each other like pretzels.. Never mind what the sports equipment was doing. Maneuvering through the confused crowd as expertly as possible Castiel managed to squeeze her way to freedom, emerging from the mass of bodies a little red in the face but otherwise unharmed. Dusting off her robes and jerking her broomstick away from a crafty fourth year she abandoned the stairs predicament with the sole purpose of emerging on the pitch, hopefully before the game started. She sympathized for her housemates, but if they were foolish enough to stampede down all at once then it wasn't her job to clean up their mess.
Castiel entered the pitch without a word, noticing her housemates Holly and Harrison along with a few other assembled students. A shadow passed from up high and as she squinted up the Gryffindor caught sight of green, flapping robes and sighed, wondering which Slytherin was parading on their high horse up there. Her fingers itched with the urge to conjure some sort of water balloon to come plummeting from above them but she resisted, knowing that there would be many other opportunities to put them in their place. Which coincidentally wasn't in any way above them, contrary to what the snake believed. Catching her housemate flash a quick glance in Harrison's direction she felt a small smile, almost smug, grow in her face before it burrowed back down. Instinct forced her to be wary of the girl but it was difficult, that Scottish accent was adorable. Instead of acknowledging it she offered Holly a friendly prod, pointing up at the Slytherin high above them. "Apparently someone has their broomstick so far up their arse they are too afraid to come join us."
Castiel grinned, focusing now on the people slowly meandering their way to the group and wondering, if too many people showed up, how Girty planned on keeping everyone under control. Her palms tingled with excitement--she had never played Quidditch with this many before, and her practise with her guy friends was sure to pay off.JP:74

"Fine!! But you should also play, Girty! I remember the days you were up there with me, and Grace!!" Ellie said remember the good old days, when she was actually the Hufflepuff seeker. Chaser had seemed to fit her better and once the spot opened up, she took the leap to a new position, while being handed the captainship as well.
Ellie felt someone brush her shoulder and she turned slightly to see Harrison. Her cheeks automatically turned bright pink and she saw that cocky smile below his icy blue eyes. "Indeed, what would I do without my Head Boy? Oh, right, have an easier life..." Ellie said, grinning rather large.
"Don't worry Girty, I'm sure everyone is just trying to be fashionably late!" Ellie said, assuring the Charms Apprentice. "See Harrison saw some kids! Apparently, he was just so excited he ran down to play some quidditch and didn't wait for them!" Ellie wasn't the best at trying to make people feel better. Especially when she could tell both Harrison and herself were skeptical about who would actually show up.
"See look there's..." Ellie could see someone had just walked in the pitch. "Oh... its Ashton." Ellie glanced at Harrison and kind of rolled her eyes. She hoped more people were on their way. Luckily just a few minutes later, more people did show up.
"Hallieluh!!" Ellie said, throwing up her hands as Holly and Tyler came over. "Absolutely beautiful!" Ellie said interjecting herself. She was hyping herself up. She was getting ready to play some quidditch. "Ugh Professor PDA, and I thought it was gross when Hubbles and Dia kissed. Blegh." Ellie said teasing Tyler. She glanced at Harrison and gave a little smile.
"Oh, we got a Slytherin." Ellie whispered, looking up at thegirl who seemingly was too good to come and join them. "She better hope for some more snakes or I hope she realizes she is in for a rude awakening when we get into the air." Ellie smirked, her competitive side coming out. Ellie smiled at the girl who came over, and she smirked at her comment.
"So Girty, when can we get in the air so I can beat Harrison's butt?" Ellie said, nudging the Gryffindor. JP:20

Sarie came out to the field to just fly around for a little while. When she saw a few people already there. There where some people who she knew but some she didn't. "Hey!" She called. "Whats everyone doing?" She hopped on her broom and pushed off from the ground. "Is this a game or a free for all?" She blinked, there where students and teachers alike. (OOC:Sry that is crap! 3 weeks of college, I'm really tired.) JP:62

Ash smiled happily when he felt his boyfriend's arm around his waist. "Hey babe. Glad to see you could finally tear yourself away from all your patients." he teased, smirking at the young Healer. Of course both of them knew that there had been no one in the Hospital Wing when Ash had gone scampering in like the hyper child he seemed to be at times.
Ellie's little eyeroll did not go un-noticed but he decided to ignore it. He didn't know what her issue was today, and frankly he didn't really care. Whatever was wrong with her wasn't his problem.
Then he heard a welcomingly familair voice. He turned to see his close friend Sarie Thimble. She was practically like a little sister to him. "Hey Sar, what's up?" he asked the young Gryffindor. He had started calling her Sar practically the day he met her and it had just stuck.((OOC: just in case anyone gets confused 'Sar' is pronounced like 'Sara' but without the 'a')) JP:12

Sarie flew up to make eye contact with Ashton. "I'm a prefect now." She said this rather often. She wondered how her old friend would take it. "Other than that not very much, just felt like flying around. How are things going for you?" Her and Ashton didn't get to talk much, she was always busy with something or another. She felt the wind sweep across her face. A smile spread brightly with the wind. She got the feeling she got when she was flying. JP:12

Ash smiled at Sarie. "That's great! I'm just a lowly Apprentice." he said with an easy laugh, a teasing smirk tossed towards Girty who was the Charms Apprentice. Of course with her, 'Apprentice' probably didn't equal 'Slave' okay, maybe he was exaggerating. A little.
He turned towards Sarie again when she addressed him once more. "I've been good. If you haven't noticed Mr. Scaredy Cat here," he gestured teasingly to Tyler, whose arm was still wrapped around his waist, and smiled fondly. "This is Tyler. And why he's clinging on to me like his life depends on it, I have no clue." he teased his boyfriend giving him a little smirk as if to say 'What are you gonna do about it?' JP:14
