He had sent an owl to Ari on Thursday, asking her to meet him outside the Three Broomsticks at four o'clock Saturday afternoon. He had not recieved an owl back, nor had he seen her so he didnt know if she would come or not. Though Mark went anyway, just in case. After all if she didnt turn up he wouldnt blame her, he had taken to ignoring her at the Christmas party, and for a good long while after that.
Things Maxi had said to him, and talking to her sister made him think of Ari. He had a lot to answer for and if she was mad at him, he would completley understand. He didnt behave in a way anyone should when he met Ari, he spoke to her for a little while, made her feel welcome and then when she started to show some form of feeling for him, he basically ran away like a scared little puppy dog with its tail between its legs. He knew Maxi and Bry were right about what they said to him, it was just that, even now, he was nervous about whatever may come out of today. Best case senario, she would forgive him and they could sort things out, worst case, basically she would tell him to go to hell and never to go near her again.
Four o'clock came and went, and yet Mark stayed stood outside the three broomsticks. Maybe she wasnt going to come. Mark sighed, it was getting on for quarter past now, and yet he wouldnt move. Like a stubborn little boy he refused to move.

It was quarter past two, the last time Ari had glanced at her clock. She was writting a term paper for Runes and had hoped to finish it before she went to Hogsmeade to meet Mark. She had to admit, she felt a little upset that he had been ignoring her, then again, she only made it possible from hiding in her room.
Ari looked over her paper to see if she had made any mistakes, "perfect, as always" she said as she put the parchment away with a sigh. Arabella looked at the clock, "Oh, no!" she said quite loudly as she jumped up off her bed trying to grab her coat and slip on some shoes. She had completly forgotten to watch the clock. It was now way past four and she had hoped to be early.
Ari ran all the way to Hogsmeade but slowed as she reached the Three Broomsticks. She hid behind a building while she caught her breath for a moment. With a deep breath, she stepped out from behind the building and walked up to Mark. "Hey," she said calmly.

Mark was about to give up. After speaking to Bry and Maxi he was sure that he had done the right thing asking her to meet him and to try and sort it ouot, but maybe she wasnt quite ready to see him just yet. "Might as well go and let her decide" he mumbled to himself. This was something he was not going to tell Alexis, she would only mock him. "Haha no way were you stood up! It's usually you doing the standing up not them!". Yes, he would definatly not tell Lexi.
Looking up and down the streets to see if he could see Ari. But he couldnt. Sighing he leant up off the wall and began to turn to walk away as he heard a voice from behind him. Turning around he was face with Ari, "Uh.. Hi" he mumbled. Smooth, Mark... Very suave. "How have you.. uh.. been?" Not the best conversation starter, and he was sure it was Ari who had the questions, and on top of that. When it came to Mark, he was sure she was not good with him ignoring her all the time. Though now she was here, he felt really nervous and had an impulse to run in the other direction, screaming for the hills. Though he told himself he wouldnt, he was here, and he was going to deal. Whether he liked it or not.

Ari could sense the nervousness in him. His body language was telling her he wanted to run, yet there he stood in front of her. Ari was releived he wasn't ignoring her now. She gave a warm smile, "I've been, well, good... I suppose. Been busy with my studies, you know," she said, answering his question.
She looked at the ground, "I'm sorry I'm late. I would've actually been on time," she said started, looking back up at him, "But... once I started my Runes paper, I couldn't just leave it unfinished," Ari stated with a slight laugh. She put her hands in her pockets and looked around. She stared at the sign that swung above the Three Broomsticks then looked back at Mark, "Well?" she said with a smile. "You wanted to meet me. What for?" she asked, keeping the friendly smile glued to her face.

Mark knew she knew he was nevous. He stopped fidgiting and looked at her, giving her a smile and trying to keep all the nervousness out of his voice. "Im glad you've been good, whereas me, i dont study so. I tend to leave everything to the last minute. I should really organise myself" he gave a laugh and looked down at the floor. Passers by were looking at them, knowing something had gone wrong between the two, a first year said something to them which annoyed Mark as he snapped, "Get lost kid".
"Oh, no its alright" He said smiling, "Though i was beginning to think you wouldnt come and in all honesty, i wouldnt blame you if you didnt" She seemed to be as nervous as him, though hiding it, or was she hiding anger. He supposed he would figure it out eventually. "Well..." He began, "I wanted to talk to you, sort things out" He told her, "Things havnt been good between the two of us for a long while now and i have a lot of answering to do, probably some grovelling and maybe even take a hex or two" he stated bluntly, "Though i did want to meet you because i want to sort things out, i know that this is my fault because well, ive been ignoring you... And... well... I guess thats it" Mark sighed, "So yeah, i have answering to do and i know i possibly cant make up for the way i treated you... or well, lack of it... And yeah, im willing to take whatever you throw at me... Just please, dont make it heavy, like a table or something"

Arabella looked at Mark as he rambled on. The longer he rambled, the bigger she smiled. It was cute, him apologizing and all. She knew it was something he didn't do very often, just by how he continuiously rambled and repeated himself. Ari couldn't possibly stay mad at him.
She took a step closer to him and leaned in as if she was going to tell him a secret, "You're rambling, Mark," she said with a slight giggle. Ari stepped back again and smiled at him, "First of all, there's no table in sight, so you don't have to worry about that. Second, grovelling sounds pretty nice," she said with a laugh, "But I'm a pretty forgiving person, so no need for that either."
Ari laughed, "And I'm not very good with hexes, just ask Bry," she finished. Ari sighed and held up her hand, "Look, Mark. You don't have to apologize nor do you have to explain yourself. I came on a little strong at the Christmas party, I know that, and I feel partly responsible for us not talking. So how bout we just put that behind us?" she asked, placing her hand back in her pocket.

Mark looked down at the floor and bit his bottom lip. He wasnt used to this, he wasnt used to having to explain himself. Usually when something like this happened he would just say "Look i did it. Get over it move on". Though he was continuesly rambling and probably making a complete prat of himself for a reason which he didnt need to. Did he?
Mark caught his breath when she leant into him, and felt his face flush when she told him he was rambling. "Yeah, i guess i did" he laughed as he too looked around to see if he could spot a table, "Well theres plenty in the pub but... I dont think a pub table brawl will... Ima shu'rrup before i ramble again" he said with a slight grin. "Though im all good for grovelling... I'd say its my middle name but well.. Its not and its not a name that will be mentioned ever"
"Im sure your fabulous at them" he said, "You never know what a bit of anger can cause you to do!" He grinned widely, hoping he was off the hook now and that maybe the two of them could start again, "Well... You didnt actually. I didnt even realise you liked me until i was told so... Though your not responsible, im the one that blanks you in lessons, im the one that walks the opposite way down the corridor, and im not making this better am i?" he said nervously, "So yeah, im all up for forgetfullness"

Ari placed a hand on her hip and looked at him with a raised eyebrow, "Am I really that awful of a person that you pretty much run away from me?" she asked jokingly. Ari gave a laugh and nudged him a little, "How bout we discuss this over something to drink, or eat, or just someplace a little warmer and dryer," she said nodding in the direction of the pub. "And yes... you're making this worse," she said sarcastically, adding a wink.
((it's a little short but I lost my train of thought.....))

"No no no!" Mark said, putting his foot in things was certainly what Mark was good at, "Its just! I dunno! I uh, well i guess i... I dont know" He sighed. He smiled at her and nodded, "I guess i could do with a drink. Come on then Missy!" he smiled, opening the door for her as a waitress hurried in their direction, "Two butterbeers please, we'll be over there" Pointing to a table as he went and sat down, hands clasped together on the table. "So..." he started as he looked at Ari.

Arabella followed him to the table. Mark seemed somewhat different to her. He wasn't the arogant gryffindor she first met in the room of requirement, he seemed almost sensitive now. She pulled off her jacket and hung it over the back of her chair and sat down.
She looked at him and smiled, "So...." she said repeating him, "what?" she asked with a laugh. She never knew Mark to be without words. What had gotten into him today? Ari giggled to herself and shook her head.
((HAHA I like totally insulted Mark in my post... im sorry!))

((Ahhh i forgive ya!)) Mark smiled as he looked out of the window, "Soo just that" he laughed as the butterbeers were brought to the table, "Aw cheers!" he smiled at the waitress who smiled back and walked off. "Well this isnt an awkward silence" he commented, after about several minutes of silence. ((Wow, short sorry ))

Ari placed her hands on her lap as she stared at the butterbeer that sat in front of her. The silence between them was utterly akward, and Ari just wanted Mark to say more than 'so' to her. She sighed and looked at him. She was determined to get a conversation flowing. "So, Mark. I'd ask you how you're classes were going, but I have this feeling you haven't been making them," she said with a laugh.

"Whatever gave you that feeling?" He asked with a smile, "The ones ive bothered with are going fine, though you are right. I dont bother with many" he smiled, taking a sip of his butterbeer. "What about yours?" he found it hard to think that he had brought her here to talk about classes. "Ari..." he said, looking from his drink to her, "I didnt ask you to come here so we could talk about classes, did i?"

Arabella gave him a look of confusion, "Mark, I don't know why you brought me here. I know it wasn't to talk about classes, but you were silent and it's the only thing I could think of to get you talking. So if you have something to say to me, please do it. I'm a little confused at the moment," she said with a nervous laugh.
Ari picked up her glass and took a drink only to use it as a sheild so Mark wouldn't see her rosy cheeks. Ari really had no idea why mark brought her here. She thought he only wanted to apologize, and that had happened. Was there really more?

"Your confused?" He asked, Makes two of us. "What about?" Mark drained the rest of his glass, he really wished they would allow underage drinking, he was in serious need of some dutch courage. When it came to dangerous things, Mark was pretty brave, but when it came to things like this, he was a coward. "Ari..." He shook his head and looked at his empty glass. This was weird, it was confusing. Mark both hated it and liked it at the same time. "Some people have told me some things, give me some decent advice. Sure, one of them i dont speak to anymore but, i know he was right. Or maybe he was, i dunno." He sighed and began to roll the glass. "I dont know... Forget it"
