I guess there is always a pattern to life not exactly a circle but a spiral going on and on with no deffinate end or beginning. Dorian was tired and thoughts rushed around in his head thoughts of shame and of hate and of a life he someday wanted. Although the last was sketchy because he didn't really know what he wanted. He, drowning in thought had come up to the owlery to clear his head, yes it stunk of owls and yes also they were not quiet creatures, but their was a sense of peace there.
It wasn't a perfect day actually it was raining slightly a dull, dreary, drizzle. He sighed slightly he didn't really like to be alone usually so this was one of his more rare days. He wasn't really like alot of people in his house who hated other non-slytherin people. He liked other people he liked having friends that would do things for him he liked to have someone to maniplulate at almost all times. Or, to make sad or uncormafortable or angry because he was. He liked making people feel how he was. It was comforting to watch someone suffer in his place..... yes, he needed to make more friends this year..... He breathed in the cool afternoon air hoping in the back of his mind some one would come this way....

She was still there, she didn't even realize why. She was so sure that she'd be gone that she would be free finally from the confines of a school she was no longer sure she liked. But upon advice from her mother she stayed back another year. Mrs. Juliette wanted her daughter to become a teaching assistant. Angel didn't have a clue why didn't even really want to but again the threat of her inheritance going straight down the drain changed her mind rather quickly. The girl knew it was shallow to let the threat of lost money force her to do what she didn't want to do.
The owls poured in from the first day she arrived at school wanting to know how things were going. Angel chose not to send anything back because well it was easier not to bother. What changed was the howler she received that morning in the Great Hall, the one where her mother threatened to come to the school, throw her over her knee and spank her right there in front of everyone. Angel had never turned so red in her life just the mere thought of it now had her shuddering. So her mother, the evil witch would get her way now.
Angel was hoping she would be alone in the owlery but that was not to be. There was another boy there but by some great chance it was a fellow Slytherin. Dorian something or another at least she wouldn't have to be her usual evil self. "Hey there" she said walking over to a one of the owls the fastest looking one because she didn't need another howler arriving during her morning cup of orange juice.

Dorian heard footsteps out side the door and looked up to see a fellow slytherin come into the room. He smiled at her as she turned to him.
"Hey there" she said
"hey yourself" He tried to think of something else to say. he couldn't really say it was a nice day because that would be lying, and he didn't really want to ask her why she was there because she was looking a little flustered. So, as a result there were a few moments of awkward silence. "ummm... should I ask why your here or not?"
He tried to seem completly unerved that he had just ask her this by casually resting his arm beside him. It was his last effort and resort to look cool, unfortunatly his nerves made his arm fall like a dead weight on the closest owl to him. As a result it flapped it's wings wildly. With a wild look in it's gold eyes turned around and seized Dorians arm in it's beak biting into his flesh. He let out a small yelp and grabbed his now bleeding arm away from the bird.
Then what came from his mouth were a series of cus words and small hisses at the now satisfied looking bird. He couldn't believe at how dumb he looked. He thought to himself he would kill that bird someday if not right now. He looked over at the slytherin girl wondering what she thought of him now after his display of stupidty.

So far this boy wasn't one she had really spoken to much or really at all. Most of the time she was too wrapped up in her own drama to notice anyone else yet alone find the time to sit there and speak to them for hours on end. Perhaps this made her a bit of a B...It wasn't like most of the school didn't already think of her that way. Most of the time she laughed it off it was rather funny since she too thought herself that way.
"Hey there yourself" Dorian replied. Angel gave a head nod as she tied her note to owls leg. Things went quiet in the owelry while Dorian looked for words to say. She didn't quite mind t he silence it was fine with her but then again she started to wonder why he was being so silent. Silence would have been better after he asked what brought her up there. The last thing she wanted to discuss was that blasted howler and her annoying mother. The owl had been standing still so long waiting for her to finish tying the note to its leg. It squawked at her bringing her out of her mind finishing tying the note the bird flew away.
Figuring he'd hear the story at some point anyway she might as well tell him herself. "I have the most insufferable mother known to man so insufferable I received a howler at the breakfast table. So to make her happy I am responding to her finally." Letting out a sigh she moved to the window.
Then Angel heard sounds of a struggle and she turned her head just in time to see the owl Dorian had been near taking a bit of his arm. The bird looked deranged as it chomped down. Poor Dorian didn't seem to expect it and soon began cussing up a storm. Had it been some Gryffindor she would be on the floor laughing her head off, but it was one of her own, so first she stunned the naughty bird with her wand watching it fall to the floor. After that she walked over to her fellow Slytherin "Are you alright I'm rubbish with healing charms but I could try."

It had been quite some time, but Polaris had finally found it in her schedule to send a letter to her parents back in Norway. Last she had, they were over joyed with the news and almost immediately begged her to send another as soon as she could. Luckily, today she had the time! Sure, she had to skip a class in order to get the time, but that really didn't matter. The girl had the grades and she was sure the teachers would understand.
On her way up to the Owlery, she began to hear a commotion accompanied by a pair of voices. With ears perked and a faint smile on her lips, Polaris approached the domed room, but not before stopping at the arching doorway. The first thing she was met with was a boy being bitten by a crazed owl and the second was a girl stunning the poor thing, causing it to seize up and fall to the floor in a heap.
Whimpering slightly in concern for the owl, Polaris walked swiftly past the couple and picked up the bird, cradling it in her arms. After a moment she took her wand out and lightly tapped the owl. "Ennervate." Soon enough, the poor, confused bird awoke from its previous state in a ruffle. It's feathers were plumed out enough to make it look like a puffball as it waddled up Polaris' arm and to her shoulder, perching itself up there to keep an eye on that girl who stunned it.
Polaris turned around and now faced the two Slytherins with a bi-coloured gaze that was neither overly-friendly or hateful; simply neutral. "At least you didn't kill the poor thing," She said softly while directing the gaze toward the female. "But I'd disinfect that wound before it gets any worse.. a simple healing spell should work." Her gaze then shifted with the ending of her sentence, now looking towards the boy, who she guessed was new.

His normally bi-weekly letter back home was running a little late this time. He knew his mother would be sitting at the kitchen table fretting unless a letter arrived on her table in the next hour or so. It was this thought that had him rushing the once neat letter that gradually the font turned to scribble as the words progressed. As he ran to the owlery, jumping over rocks and dodging people, he felt a sense of achievement for getting there quick and without falling over or having to push someone over by accident. Feeling the burn in his lungs, he doubled over as he entered the owlery and tucked himself away under the stairs as he attempted to re-read the letter and seal it up in the creamish coloured envelope.
As he begun to read, a girl entered and promptly fled up the stairs. Ethan had only just managed to lift his head to see a blonde head walk past and ravenclaw colours to be revealed. Looking back down, he realised re-reading wasn't going to help with the time factor and he soon pushed himself off the wall and jogged up the stairs, almost running into the blonde haired girl as he neared the archway. His chest bumped into her back and he looked at the girl apologetically. "Oh, sorry. I should really look where i'm going" he said, offering a smile at the Ravenclaw. Ethan skimmed past her and into the corner of the room where two slytherins were. Ethan being himself offered them a smile too, although he knew he wouldnt get one back. Picking a rather hefty bird out from the lineup, he looked back in time to actually notice the Ravenclaw have an owl on her shoulder already. "Erm, excuse me, is that your bird? If not, could I use it for my letter?" he asked, pointing at the feathered friend. Giving a quick look to the Slytherins he looked back at the Ravenclaw.

Dorian looked up at her, his arm bleeding.
"I think I'm okay, thanks for stunning the bloody bird"
He was hoping against hope that she wasn't hiding under a look of concern that she thought he was stupid. He was going to say something about not her worring about having an insufferible mother, when a raven claw girl came running up the stairs. She was pretty with blonde hair and blue eyes, but as she walked past him she healed the stupid bird. He was mad now could she not see his arm or something.
"What the bloody hell do you think your doing!!!"
he yelled at her as she craddled the deranged bird in her arms. He felt that she must not understand anything about justice or that in the muggle world if an animal bit you it was killed. He had never really asked anyone what they did with dangerous animals in the wizard world.
"That bird ate a chunk of my arm for breakfast and your treating it like a poor mistreated baby?!"
As he spoke another person came bustling into the room. Although he seemed rather cluless to what was going on in the rest of the room. The other boy, a hufflepuff, looked up once and asked the ravenclaw girl if he could use the owl. Dorian smiled thinking of how unsuited the owl was to carry letters.
"I'd advise you against it mate, the ruddy owl might eat your letter."

At least Dorian wasn't being ungrateful. Many of the boys in her house were just that way acting as if she should have come to the recuse for them. He was grateful at least for her stunning that psycho bird. The school should really do a better job of selecting them students use them all the time. "Blood psycho bird should be put out of its misery."
Too bad some bleeding heart Ravenclaw didn't feel the same when she stepped into the owelry and actually revived the beast then cradled the thing in her arms. Angel had seen some things in her day but this was ridiculous. Before she could say anything someone else walked into the owelry a boy this time Hufflepuff by the looks of him. Now the place was getting crowded and certainly not in a good way.
Dorian seemed pissed off that the girl took the birds in this situation a fact Angel completely agreed with. It was ridiculous the bird was just a damn bird and a deranged bird at that. The new boy completely unawares of what was going on actually asked if he could borrow the psycho bird. "Yes that bird is out of its mind it would probably eat your face off before taking the letter I'd use another bird if I were you." Hmm that was way too nice of her maybe seeing him or that pesky Claw getting a bite taken out of them wouldn't be too bad. Serve them both right for siding with that blasted nasty bird.

As soon as Polaris knew it, harsh words were being flung her way from her actions of reviving the owl. Peering at both of the Slytherins with a blue-green gaze, she tilted her head before speaking. "If you had forgotten, the boy's arm accidentally hit the owl. If you were hit, would you not fight back or would you stand there and take it? The owl was caught off guard and frightened by the boy, he is after all, much bigger than the thing."
Hopefully the two would understand where she was coming from, it wasn't the owls fault, honestly! The Slytherin boy was probably not paying attention to where his arm fell, it wasn't anybodies fault. "And no, I don't think you should use this owl after what happened. But, if you'd like, you could use my own. His name is Njordr." She offered, motioning to a large, hawk looking owl that was perched up near the top of the room to the Hufflepuff kindly.
With a slight furrowing of her brows, Polaris then motioned her wand towards the injured boy and casted a spell towards him since the other girl wasn't doing much to aid him. "Episkey" She mumbled softly, watching as the boy's wound was healed completely.
"That better?" The girl asked with a tilted head and a raised brow. Surely after that the two could understand the reason for the birds attack, especially since the boy was healed.

Dorian was flabergasted 'how'd a girl this thick get into ravenclaw?' he wondered. She was blaming him! Okay, maybe it was his fault but still, blaming the intelligent wizard over the stupid owl seemed to be a huge injustice.
"Oh, ya it's a right angel that bird, poor blokes just misunderstood. Completely docile wouldn't hurt a fly."
He reached his hand out toward the bird who snapped at it. He drew it back with a meaningful look at the ravenclaw girl. He suddenly smiled warmly at her and put his arm around shoulders.
"You know, you shouldn't worry about it." He smiled patronizingly
"I hear there are really nice places in St. Mungos for confused witches like you."
He glanced over at the slytherin girl a smirk on the corners of his mouth. Although he fought to keep a straight face he hoped she'd catch on.

Polaris frowned slightly at the boy's ignorance and comment. "I hope you know I'm not siding with either one of you.. I simply understand both sides of this situation."
She gave a small sigh at his next comment, but then smiled. "Believe it or not, I'm more of a fighter than a healer. That was about my second time with that spell.." The girl replied to his 'St. Mungo's comment', then shooing away the small owl so it could perch itself somewhere other than her shoulder.
Wanting to keep the awkward feelings at bay, she decided to spark up a conversation, hoping it wouldn't surface any more rude comments or attacks. Though, if it did, she could handle herself. "Anyways.. I don't think I've seen you around before. Are you new? My name is Polaris, by the way." The girl said, the faint smile returning.

He really couldn't believe this girl. She wasn't yelling at him or anything. He couldn't believe that she could keep her calm this long. Oh well he thought their are other times to fight. This obviously wasn't one of them. He kept his arm around her shoulder.
"Hey, I'm sorry you know you are right I just don't like to admit that I'm clumsy..."
He whispered softly in her ear. Hoping to make her at least a little uncomfortable. he really couldn't think of anything else to do. She'd gotten under his skin she hadn't taken the bait but she would. He had to make sure of that..
"It's a pride thing you know... but it's okay really.. your beautiful you know that."
He really wanted to sending her running anything to make her squirm.

Polaris smiled and nodded at his words. "Everyone is clumsy at times, no need to worry about it." After a moment he said something that was a bit weird and awkward, but didn't really make her feel any different than before.
"Haha.. thanks, you have some pretty eyes yourself. And pride? I think we all have a lot of that, even myself." The ravenclaw admitted, not breaking her smile.
The girl had figured out what he was doing atleast somewhat, if not all. But she wasn't going to let that diminish her attitude, everyone deserved a second chance.

He was really annoyed now. This girl was aweful, she just wouldn't fall, nothing he was doing seemed to work on her, nothing. He wasn't scaring her, affecting her, or making her squirm, in fact she looked perfectly comfortable just standing there in his grip. He tightened it uncomfortably. If she would at least admit defeat or back down he wouldn't be so angry but so far she showed no signs what so ever of doing that.
"Thank you for healing me I forgot to say that."
He sunk his fingernails into her shoulder one more time before letting go of it and dropping his arm back to his side. the owl attemtped to bite it as it swung past it's beak. He smiled at it. That owl was a bit like Polaris, stubborn and didn't want to give up.
"Polaris right, No, I'm not new I'm Dorian Merlinson Pleasure to meet you."
It really wasn't but for now he could pretend. Pretend that he had lost.
"You were right you really are a fighter."

Polaris continued to smile sweetly, despite the boy digging his nails in her shoulder in attempts to harm her. Unfortunately for the boy, he knew very little of her, and that would be his downfall.
"It's no problem, Dorian. And yeah, haha.. it runs in my blood, you could say." She replied, moving away from him slightly to call her owl to her.
Tying a her original letter to the owls leg, she sent him off out of the room and off to Norway. A moment of silence filled the room and Polaris stood there, looking between the two slytherins and hufflepuff. "Everyone else have letters to send or just me?"
