'As long as I get to fly I'm all for it I've been looking forward to this for weeks now.
Mounting her new broom it lifted her into the air with little to no effort. It was almost as if it were reading her mind. She was in the air now where she belonged. Turning she looked down waiting for the quaffle she needed to practice with. Her mind reeling with thoughts about how she was going to get it in past Candy. The summer was still fresh in her memory as she thought of playing with her dad but now it was crunch time. She needed to be better than normal. Feeling amped and ready she called out.
'I'm good to go'

Ashton nodded. "Alright, go. You'll have six goals to try and make." He smiled, "Good luck."

Bradyn hurried across the grounds as fast as he could with his broom in his arms, leave it to him to be late to something so important to him. He walked cautiously out onto the pitch, hoping not to interrupt and walked over to Ashton and the rest of the people trying out. "Um, hope I'm not to late?" He said as he walked up, but smirked a bit. "Sounds like I am, since I was going to try out for keeper." Ah well, maybe he still had a chance.
[ still open to new people, I hope? ]

Ashton smiled down at the new arrival, "Oh no, you're just in time. Candy is our beater, she was just filling in until a potential keeper showed up. You wanna fly on up there?"

Bradyn nodded a bit, looks like luck was on his side today. Either that or not many people have shown up yet and he still had a good chance. "Right-o, Ash~ton." He said, drawing out the middle part of his name untill he remembered how it ended. He quickly mounted his broom, a decently new comet in good shape, and kicked up into the air. He flew over to the rings with Candy and Alexis. He took his spot in front of the center ring and braced himself.
"Ready." He called as he took a quick moment to study the potential chaser's stance to see if he could predict which way she was going to toss the Quaffle. He could tell she was as confident as him, and probably just as good. Bradyn had been practicing with his siblings all summer, and he was pretty confident about his skills. "How many times are we trying this, again, Captain?"

Ash smiled. "You can call me Ash, and you have six goals to try and block. If you don't block all six, don't panic, you'll stilll have a chance to make it."

Alexis smiled as the newcomer appeared. Bradyn was trying out for keeper this time around so the tryout would affect both of them, her skills at getting goal in and his at keeping them out. Alexis had been practicing, she was always practicing, but you never knew the work someone else put in. Taking a deep breath Alexis looked around conditions were still good, and despite the knot in her stomach she was feeling good.
Already she could see him trying to figure her out, trying to discern, which way she was going to go. Alexis was trying to discern which way she would go so that she could get it past him. Quaffle in hand she began to fly around back and forth, then she'd pick up the ball as if she was going to throw it, watching to see if he'd take the bait.
After a few minutes of this she flew left, holding onto her broom handle with her thighs she twisted her body so that her hands went right, and she threw that quaffle as hard as possible toward the right goal posts. It was a feint she'd learned from her brother and it served her well most of the time.

Bradyn took a breath and reached quickly into his back pocket to pull out his gloves, since he would rather not injure his wrist in just a tryout. After he carefully broke down his opponent, or at least as much as he could, Bray wasn’t sure about her. Lexi looked strong but she was also experienced. It was Chaser vs. Keeper, a tryout that was going to be intense if both were determined to win. Of course, there is always the option of both of them making it, since it's a tryout not an actual game. Bray put a serious face on none-the-less; a man couldn’t loose to a woman, now could he? His eyes followed her carefully as she paced on her broom, it seemed she was trying to trick him or throw him off. Clenching and unclenching his fists, Bradyn ground his teeth in frustration. She was faking him out, and he was worried enough already. Bray tried to keep his muscles from jumping out of instinct at her fake throws, and he managed this to an extent, though he probably looked anxious for her to throw it. Was she trying to mess with his head since she knew Keepers relied on quick reactions? Bray saw her swerve sharply left and knew that the time for games was over. But which was the quaffle coming; straight, left, or right? He out a bit from the goals to have better maneuverability and turned more to the right to keep a better on Lexi. If she was going to the left he could easily dive forward for it; if it was going right it would have to go through him first to get to the ring. Right it is, Bray braced himself and dived more to the right to try and block the incoming quaffle. (Long o.O and queerditch is so hard to not god-mode. I think I managed it.)

He was good she saw that now. He had taken a gamble on which way she'd toss the quaffle and it paid off. He went right just as she tossed it. She was glad but also annoyed. She was very competitive when it came to the game of quidditch being on the team meant everything to her. This was only a try out, yes, but it was still a form of competition and she couldn't let a boy beat her no that just wouldn't do.
Another quaffle headed her way and grabbing hold she figured the straight forward approach this time. Grabbing the ball and holding on to it for dear life she flew straight for the goal posts. When she felt she was close enough she thew it, to the left right over his head but at such an angle that it could still make it in. Seeing that it would be near impossible for him to stop it now Alexis felt somewhat justified. Her confidence level increasing one hundred and ten percent.

Bradyn flew back a bit after he caught the quaffle and raised an eyebrow, unsure of what to do with it. He tossed it back down to Ash and Candy and looked back up at his opponent who apparently had already thrown it. Shoot! He thought, knowing it would be impossible for him to twist his arm that way to catch it.
This time the quaffle went in and he looped around the post to catch it and once again toss it back down. Bray clenched his jaw and frowned. He had caught the first one, but managed to let the second one go in. It was 1 to 1 now and he was determined not to lose to the fairer sex. Bray sighed before taking his position back in front of the center goal post and got ready for the next throw. Would it be strategic like the first one, or just a whip while he was distracted like the second? Bradyn had to be prepared for anything now.

Alexis couldn't help but smirk. She had managed to get one in and it made her feel good A) because it went in and B) because her opposition was extremely talented yet she managed to get one past. It was petty and a bit childish but well she couldn't help it. Now though time for games was over. He was hovering in front of the middle rings and Alexis had to think of a way to get the ball past him again.
She was stationary for quite some time, glad that this wasn't a real game because it allowed her time to think of some kind of strategy. He was good damn good and wasn't easily fooled by feints like most opponents were. Biting her bottom lip, her face scrunched up she was racking her brain. She wanted to make a good impression, and a good showing on the pitch was the best way of doing that, she just had to figure out how to get it done.
Time was wasting she couldn't hold off forever. Taking a deep breath, ball under her arm, she flew around her eyes never leaving the goal keeper. She was trying to find a weak spot but so far was coming up empty. There was nothing for it she would just have to throw and hope he wasn't quick enough. Remembering something from the muggle game of baseball she threw what was called a fast ball. As it whizzed through the air it was going at such a high rate of speed it looked like a blur as it hurtled toward its goal. He would need to think real quick to catch that one she thought.

Bray sighed, looks like his opponent enjoyed getting that one past him. Well, he would make sure that wouldn’t happen again but then again he couldn’t blame her; nothing got his heart going like Quidditch did.. Letting go of his broom handle he sat ready to catch it, knowing that he’d be able to navigate well unless he had to dramatically dive for the quaffle. It seemed that she was going to take her time on this throw and plan it out, but of course things like that were aspects of a Ravenclaw so he shouldn’t be surprised. He watched her as she began to fly around again, apparently revaluating him.
Bray clenched and unclenched his fists to make sure his gloves were on for best maneuverability and he watched her. There, that was it, the throw! He was shocked since he didn’t realize such a powerful throw could come from her, it was more of a bludger than a quaffle. That would be fantastic if he weren’t the keeper who had to stop it. He saw it was going left and skidded to the side, careful not to put his side or back to the quaffle since it looked like it would hurt if he didn’t catch it with his hands. Steadying himself, his arms made a final dive in the direction that the streak of red seemed to be going.
