Richard kept hold of Erika’s hand as he pulled her along the gravel path that lead towards the Quidditch pitch trying to ignore her mumblings that he would be the one who would be shown up. And she would most likely be right, seeing as it had been an extremely long time since Rich had even sat on a broom. As they entered the stadium he did not walk straight onto the pitch instead he headed to the dressing rooms guessing that they would have some broomsticks lying around in here somewhere.
After he saw nothing in lying on the benches he noticed a cupboard door that was slightly open. Heading towards it he carefully opened the door and as soon as he did a collection of brooms fell onto the floor in front of him and with a small chuckle Richard turned to Erika.
“Take your pick.”

Erika frowned at the selection of brooms. "Please, you expect me to ride on one of these low-class, mediocre, pathetic brooms?" she asked, with a sneer towards said brooms. "I have a better idea." Turning, she pointed her wand in the direction of the Gryffindor tower, and said, "Accio Lightningbolt!" There was silence for a few moments, then she heard a wizzing sound, soon her beloved Lightningbolt appeared into view. Well, Richard's view at least. Being a vampire, Erika saw it when it was still well away from the pitch. Turning to Richard she grinned proudly. "This is my new Lightningbolt 300!" she bragged. Seating herself on the broom, she smiled at Richard. "Ready to fly?"

Richard knew nothing about brooms. In his opinion there was very little difference between them, although he imagined that those who loved the sport would be able to note all the differences from the type of wood to the different styles of grip on the broom handle. However all Richard cared about was if the bloody thing flew and if he would be able to stay on it. When Erika’s broom showed up and she bragged about how amazing ti was Richard looked on and nodded his head polity as he picked up one of the brooms that were laying on the floor. In his eyes he same no difference, expect that the school broom had a lot more war scares on it.
“I am as ready as I ever will be…what are we actually going to be doing? Will we just be chasing each other around the pitch or have some sort of scoring system in place. Seeing that you seem to have the equipment.” Richard glanced at the Gryffindor’s broom, before giving her a small grin. “I believe you should choose what we do!”

((what happened to my post? i know i replied already! oh well. no use crying over a lost post. but merlin this pisses me off!))
Erika tapped a long-nailed finger against her blood-red lips as she pondered Richard's question. Her honey-gold eyes sparkled thoughtfully, and her brow was furrowed in concentration. The wind was insistent on whiping her raven hair around her face, until finally with a small, yet surprisingly scary, snarl of frustration she pulled it back into a bun.
Erika sighed. "How bout we just fly around the grounds?" she suggested, looking up at Richard. "Merlin I am tiny! Especially compared to you!" she said. And it was true, at just 5'5 the top of her head just barely reached his chin.
In fact if she stood at her full height, her eyes were just level with his chest. Erika pouted slightly. "I hate being short!" she complained, but quickly brightened. "Oh well! At least I'll be young forever! Now let's fly!"

Richard watch as Erika’s finger went across her lips, he knew he should not look at her but he could not help it. He watched and just wanted to kiss her lips, he had never had this sort of feelings for someone before, but then Erika was not just anyone, she scared him but in a good way. It was only then when he noticed that Erika was suggesting about going to fly around the grounds before she started to complain about being small.Taken slightly off guard Richard stepped backwards, stepping on the brooms that were still covering the floor. Slipping slightly he stumbled sideways and had to reach out and take hold of the Gryffindor’s shoulder to keep his balance. “Erm…no, no I think you are the perfect height really. But I think you have the perfect build to ride a broom.”
Richard stuttered and carefully removed his hand from her shoulder and gripped his broom tightly to try and prevent his nerves from showing too much. However his hands began to sweat and his speech started to stutter more.
“Le…lets get f..flying then.”

A smirk played delicately on Erika's full lips, her eyes sparkled. "What's wrong? Cat got your tongue?" she asked smiling mischievously, leaning in closer to him. "There's really nothing to be afraid of you know. In fact, it's quite thrilling. The sweet rush of intoxication, the knowledge that nothing can hold you back, the freedom of going wherever you please." Her voice was soft and delicate, like snow falling softly upon the ground. She turned away, and rose up into the air, "Are you coming?" she asked, looking back over her shoulder.

Richard looked at Erika wondering how he had missed someone such as her, she was a larger then life character and normally he would never look twice at people like this, his parents never would so why should he. But now, now he was talking to her, spending time with her he did not care that she was a vampire, he did not care that she would have more mood swings every other minute than the average human would have in a day, or if angered she would be more furious than a dragon. All that mattered was that he was having a good time and laughing, something he very rarely did. As she described the sensation of flying she made it seem so wonderful, like there was nothing to fear and for that he was very thankful. The idea of falling to the ground at fast speeds was always bone chilling.
“Of course I am coming. Nothing would keep me away from showing you how pathetic you truly are on a broom and that a complete novice will wipe the floor with you.”
Following her example Richard jumped out the broom he had in his hand and let it hover above the ground. His knuckles were slowly turning white as he was holding on too tightly to the broom handle, but he did not plan to let go, well not when they were at a high speed. He slowly willed the broom on and hovered so he was next to Erika. Holding out his hand Richard waited for them to shake on the deal of what they were going to do, but as Erika placed her soft hand in his he could not help but pull it close to his lips and plant a light kiss upon it before dropping it quickly and zooming out of the changing rooms.

Erika snorted. "Oh please! a dragon couldn't catch me!" To prove her point she zoomed off faster than lightining. By the time Richard could even think about blinking, Erika was on the other side of the pitch. Her slightly high- pitched, airy laughter rang out, light and clear. "Pathetic on a broom am I? Well, I believe I just proved you wrong Mr. Leons!" she called teasingly.

Now if Richard had ever truly bothered to listen to the tales at the dinner table or in the common room about how the school broomsticks are the slowest thing in the planet then maybe he would have been sensible enough not to try and make himself sound so amazing on a broomstick. But now he had to eat his words as Erika came zooming past him, causing him to lose his balance slightly and before he knew it her laughter was floating over from the other side of the Quidditch pitch. Not really rushing Richard flew towards her, grinning as he spoke.
“Now I believe this is my cue to inform you that I let you win, being the gentleman that I am.”
Richard followed this statement with a small laugh and hovered by Erika, studying her features and finding it hard to take his gazer away from her eyes. A gust of wind blew around them, her dark hair danced around in the wind while his looked a little bit more ruffled. Looking away feeling rather conscious of himself staring at her Rich gave his broom a tug, spinning around and shooting off to the other side of the Quidditch pitch, giving Erika a small wave as he went.

Erika scoffed. "Oh please Richard! I would've beat you anyway! And you know it!" She smirked as Richard zoomed towards the other side of the pitch. "Nice Rich, way to show off!" she teased rolling her eyes. Erika reached up, and took down her bun allowing the wind to whip her raven-hair around her face. Eyes sparkling, she dove straight towards Richard. Just as she was about to crash into him, she pulled the broom to a stop. "Hiya." she said cheerfully. She wasn't even out of breath.

Richard head Erika call after him, her voice managing to break trough the sound of the wind whistling past his ears. With a small grin he stopped the broom and turned to face the Gryffindor who was flying towards him. With a mock voice he put his hand to his ear as if trying to make an ear trumpet. “Sorry. What was that Erika? I think I am too far ahead to hear.”
Rich laughed quietly to himself but by the time he had finished talking she was coming closer and closer and closer. He quickly gripped his broom handle in fear that she was going to crash straight into the side of him, holding his breath he closed his left eye ready for there to be contact, but it never came. Opening up his eyes he saw Erika right in front of him carefully saying hello as if that was something she did everyday. Rich’s mouth was hanging open a frown slowly filling his face although it did not last long.
“What do you think you are doing? That was bloody….well actually bloody fantastic, but that does not over come the fact that it was really stupid…will you stop laughing.”
The smirk was still on Erika’s face and Richard could not help but laugh along, it was a very infectious quality of Erika.

At Richard's grumbling, Erika simply threw back her head and laughed. Raven hair dancing in the wind, honey-gold eyes sparkling with humor, and full, blood-red lips showing white, razor-sharp fangs. "Well, if you hadn't told me that a novice could wipe the floor with me, I wouldn't have done that! You brought that upon yourself!" she teased, then pretended to think it over. "Oh...no... wait, I still would've done it!" she cried gleefully. The sight of Richard's returning smile was enough to make her feel like she was walking on air, Wow, I really am falling for him... she realized. This realization was enough to send her thoughts out of the clouds and plunging back down to earth. The expression of joy and playfulness on her face was replaced by one of thoughtfulness.
((Liz! Stop spelling her name wrong damit! It's Erika not Ericka! What is wrong with you woman!?))

( A thousand apologies me lady. It seems I like putting a ‘c’ in your characters name on the odd occasion! I will have to train myself to reframe from doing so in the near future! (Why I have write this trying to sound like a pirate I will never know! ‘Shiver me timbers!’))[/color]
He never knew if she was laughing with him or at him but which ever it was he did not care, he was having the most fun in years and it was all because of a chance meting with this Gryffindor in the library. To think he had started to day only knowing her as reference to ‘the vampire’ now he was actually on a broomstick laughing with her. However when the fangs came into view his smile wavered for a millisecond, the fear that had griped him earlier was fading away and being replaced with a firm belief that vampires were very misunderstood.
“You abuse me so much Erika I do not know why I bother.”
Richard turned into a fake pout, he stuck out his lower lip and turned away from Erika for a moment trying to emphasises his hurt, but Richard never was a very good actor and soon the fake pout faded and was once again placed with a toothy grin, but this time Erika did not seem to be laughing. Her gaze was distant almost as if her mind was elsewhere, somewhere Richard wanted to be. Hovering slightly closer he looked her straight her gorgeous amber eyes and spoke in a soft voice.
“What is going through that beautiful mind of yours? But more importantly do you care to share them with me?”

Erika stared at Richard for a few moments, then a devilish smirk slowly came upon her lips. "You." she answered. Leaning forward she gave him a kiss that listed for just a slpit second, then suddenly she was way over on the other side of the pitch. Looking back at Richard she laughed, and shouted back, "Catch me if you can!"

Richard watched Erika as she looked straight back at him, he did not know how long they stayed like this but a part of him did not want it to end. At first he did not think she was going to tell him what was happening but then he saw a small smile fill her features and he did not expect what was going to happen next.
“Me?”
Before he knew it she had kissed and was flying off in the other direction, his heart was pounding in his chest and his mind was spinning with confusion. He liked Erika, a lot more then other girls in his acquaintance but he never thought of her like that but maybe, maybe he could. In the distance he heard her challenge of trying to catch him and the smile that been on his face almost all the day returned, urging his broom on Richard flew straight over towards Erika not planning to slowly down knowing even hoping that Erika would move before he reached her.
