I would like to say that this idea so by no means final nor will it be done unless we get the consent of everyone on the site! It needs to be a unanimous vote as it will be a HUGE change!
This idea mainly comes from the fact that I have been on the site for what…two and half years and so my original characters that I have connected with the most have grown up and left Hogwarts and so sadly they have become useless. I know I am not the only person who this problem has hit so it gives us an opportunity to possibly explore our characters more and yeah…your all just wishing I would shut up and give my idea….so here it is….
We skip fifteen years into the future!
I know…I can hear all your gasps of WHAT from here…I told you it was big and I mean even myself I am still all dithering over it. But I thought maybe if I put it up here everyone can give their two cents and it can be chopped and changed and even thrown completely out of the window haha!
I have no idea when (if that is) this would come in…I know a few of your newer peeps still have your original characters still as students so this would be more of a negative thing for you. Which is why I was thinking we could bring in the ‘Biggerstall Card’ (LOL like the name Robyn!) But you could just have your peep so they do not change…and we just all casually overlook the change and they can remain seven years forever hahaha!
But yeah….please feel free to give me your thoughts!

I have mixed feelings about this although there is good points and bad points to it. I do like the idea of skipping forward 15 years for some parts, like some students having grown up and sorted their lives out, but there's bad points where with some characters I want to live ever aspect of their lives out. I suppose if we come to some sort of arrangement where not everyone HAS to be shoved forward 15 years then it would work out nicely.
Well, this was pointless adding my two cents because I didn't come to any conclusion on this! I think i'll sit on the fence

I don't know if I like this idea. It would be hard for me at least to decide where I see some of my younger characters in 15 years...then it would be silly to have some of my characters ignore the year jump and others move forward with it. It at least for me would kind of complicate things a little.

Like I said it was not the best idea in the world, and me and SJ were talking to each other and there are so many negative sides to this idea that it is crazy. So seeing as we have discussed this and I have thought about it a fair bit while burning my tongue on pasta sauce. It really is not going to work is it hahaha!
Oh well hahaha, no real lose is it! I mean we are doing fine as it haha, the thought of making Dan 45 is rather scary hahahahaha!

I actually love the idea. It opens up an endless supply of possibilities!
For instance! For the people who do want to have their characters age, you can do so much more! You can arrange with people and have characters get married, die horribly, have children.. I myself would love to see Erys' and Ricky's kids running around Hogwarts! Wouldn't it be interesting to have everything different? You'd have a whole new set of students (save for the ones who stay back and dont age) and really, the possibilities are endless with what you could do.
But I agree with Dan on how I'd want to roleplay the lives of some people out. It would feel wrong to have Erys' life fast-forwarded fifteen years. D:
So my final verdict: I'm mixed on it.[/color]

I think I like it, actually.
The idea of Bray as a 31-year-old man makes me laugh my ass off.. do he and ellie get back together and have kidlings? Who knows :O
and we do have the pensieve for us to have important threads in if you want to explain something that happened to them to make them like this.

I'm in two minds about this idea. On the uphand I'd love to see where my characters would be in fifteen years. Would some of them have careers, a family? Would they be homeless bums sitting in Hogsmeade drinking the wizard equivalent of cider?
On the downside. Theres more than one character I dont want growing up, like Bryn, Kieran and Lyndsay. So I wouldnt want them to go zooming through a time warp and ending up in the future looking like a throwback from a seventies movie.
I think this both has ups and downs to it, but if people did want to do it theres no reason why they cant talk to people who have characters involved with theirs and figure out what they want to do with them.

I'm rather conflicted on this too xD
On one hand, I'd love to figure out what would happen to all my little characters. Fay's the enigma of them all xD
On the other hand, I'd hate to see any of them grow up too quickly.
Maybe we could do a seperate board for the timeskip? Like the whole Pensieve thing, but reversed...

You know what I've been thinking Liz. since, I told you but i'll just throw it out here.
I really think we should do the timeskip. And in this, people should give up characters that they hardly use and the face claim should be scrubbed thoroughly so we can actually make new characters without going on a wild "there's no celebrities left" goose chase.
Because we all know that if we look at some of our characters, though they may be favorites now that you're forty you'll be willing to make a new one more than usual.
Plus, we don't plan to let the old characters fade into nonexistence like they usually do. A whole new category will (i'm not admin.. so I'll replace that with should) be added with Diagon Ally, Knockturn Ally, the Ministry and it's floors, St Mungoes.. maybe even some generic places like Asia, America, Europe?
Giving you not only the option of a job for them, but places and hopefully people to RP with.

I thought that this idea was not happening? If it does happen can people choose not to go along with it?

I agree with Nicole here, Ridd's obviously dying rather quickly on us and I think we should do the time warp. And Lexi, I think if you don't want to send any of your characters through the timewarp then that is fine, I think what they are trying to say is if you want some of your characters to move on then they can, but if you don't then don't.
I think Ridd needs a proper clean out with everything, especially face claim! I think it will be good for everyone to have a good sort out of characters and everything, me mostly! >.<

Ok say we do it then people move up 15 years how does this change the boardwide plot? I mean things would be the same people just got older.

I'm pretty sure by bumping up the years, the point is to have a character clean-up and just jump-start some life into ridd Lexi. It'll take some time to figure out a new plot and stuff, if we still do want one, but it would be easy to come up with things to do with your characters fifteen years in the future.
Plus, we can weed out unwanted characters and put up celebs for grabs again, in case people want to try new characters because their currents ones are older.
I personally think it's a smart idea, considering we have a lot of unused characters (and I am most certainly tossed into this group).

Exactly. It wouldn't be rping with some of the people since, some would stay young, some would get old, some would disappear completely, and I suspect there would be a whole new group of the "cool" students while our current ones are gimping around in walkers.
Since I only have three characters, I know exactly how it would go.. but I'll state it for some sort of, example?
Bradyn Reed: Get's old, for sure! Prue Russo: Stays young to be used as new main. Alana Duncan: Thrown into a volcano pit as a sacrifice.
