hmm...while i do like the idea of a Time Warp...
fifteen years is WAAAAY too far ahead! I think we should go for something more realistic, like five years maybe. Fifteen is just too much in my opinion.
Anyway, who says we need a time warp to spice things up? it's not that Ridd itself is dying, it's that we, as RPers, and i hate to be the one to say this, but we're not working near as hard on RPing our characters. sure we have school, and work and all that jazz.. but that's never stopped us in the past..why would it stop us now?
I'm not saying we're lazy because we're not..but we need to start making more of an effort with our characters instead of just sayin, "oh, Ridd's dying..time for a new plot!"
it's not the plot that makes Ridd successful. It's us, the RPers...and our characters..the bottom line.. we are the backbone of Ridd
that's my two cents

I agree fifteen years is a lot of time maybe five or something would be a bit more fitting. Plus I do agree with you Kris I don't think we need the time warp at all, I think we just have to find a way to committ more to our characters, and what happened to the big board wide plot that's supposed to be going on?

Yeah I agree with Kris. Me, SJ and Amy were talking about this last night (all hail msn joint conversations) and we all love Ridd and do not want to let it just fade into nothingness but it is a situation of just putting the effort in. I do see no point in moving it forward when we are just going to have to create new characters who we may not connect with, things get to complex when people do not move them forward and yeah we are back to square one again but that is not always good.
So at the moment I am starting to side with the...'Keep Ridd the same side!' but we are on about me here so I will be easily swayed!
To your other points, I picked fifteen years purely to be selfish as it meant that I could role play Dan and Dia's children at Hogwarts if we did the time skip haha.
As for the big plot it is still going but it is up to you people to actually bring it in. I know SJ and Ally have a plan, everyone is seeing how nutty Hubbles is going, Girty and Ricky are going nuts, Robyn and me also have a plotline going on…the third and final stage will start in the New Year and that is when:
* Portraits come alive and walk out of their frames * People get sucked into the frames * Ghosts become fully solid * People getting attacked/hurt * Craziness reaches peek level So that should encourage more active role playing and fun threads, but it is up to you guys to put your characters necks and reputations on the line and come up with fun plotlines to get it going!
If you need anymore help with the Big Plot you know where I am hahaha

I basically have no characters that I'm interested in, except for Bray who is basically dormant since i cannot use him until his plot is set up and in place... which, kaitlyn, we need to work on, hunny!
so that's my problem and I realize this. But what can I do about it, the face claim's basically over cluttered to the point that making characters becomes frustrating..
I dunno, fifteen years did seem like a lot but five also seems to short. Ten would be better. But I do like the idea of it being long enough that we could do the second generation. xD

Nicole, you keep going on about the Face Claim but I don't think you realise how many people are actually a part of Ridd. Sure, not many of them are as active as some but we can't hold that against them. There are over 400 members on this site and that means that the Face Claim will get well used, trust me, I know.
But what's more, there are thousands upon thousands of actors and actresses in the world, I can't imagine that you couldn't find one. And your character should be created with a face, Nicole, you should get an idea about who the character is and then the outside will come.
You guys have is so right though, the roleplayers make the site, not the plot. Sure a plot helps get the creative juices flowing but it's us as a group that are charged with keeping it going. If you guys think that Ridd is dying (and trust me you haven't seen dying yet) then it's your falte. Yes, I said it, you! *points at you reading this* you're not trying hard enough, as Kris said.
I don't think we should do the fast-forward thing while we've already got another plot in the works. But as a purely academic question, if we were to fast-forward, what then? what would the story be? Nicole's idea about creating Diagon Alley and all those other countries is all fair enough but our board here is about Hogwarts ... how do we jazz it up to keep ourselves interested?
