"Mind if I sit here?" She patted the ground next to him. "It has a great view of every thing." She looked over the desert to over the great pyramids in to the thin cloud streaked sky. She looked over to the teacher. "Are we staying here or are moving soon?"

Willa thought to herself as she tore down the hallway, not wanting to miss a minute of Egyptian Mythology. She absolutely loved learning about ancient Egypt, it was so interesting! This would probably be the only class she got an outstanding in, assuming she could force herself to lug up her marks in Transfiguration and Care of Magical Creatures. She wasn't doing too bad in those ones. Anywho, Willa's shoes slapped against the stone floor as she skidded down flights of stairs and through hallways, further away from her common room now as she burst through the door. The moment her foot met the sand of the ground the Gryffindor cried out with surprise, slipping and flying into the room and landing face-first in the sand. Laying there now, refusing to get up just yet, she spat out a mouthful of sand and propped herself up on her elbows. You could barely see her eyebrows, with the sand that caked her skin. Wiping it away and laughing Willa stood, dusting herself off and shovelling out handfuls of sand from down her shirt. Going to stand with the cluster of Gryffindor's she laughed along with them, knowing they had seen her little slip of the foot there. "Yoyeah, I tripped. Totally.. Tripped." She laughed, shaking more sand from her clothing and emptying out her--you guessed it--sand-filled pockets. Now that she was standing and not smashing against the ground Willa took the time to appreciate her alterred surroundings. "Cool." She nodded, impressed at the change and absolutely loving it. The warm breeze she could do without, she was probably sweating a little from the run down here.[/ul]

Brooke just watched as Noah walked next to her and was pretty much claiming she was a loud mouth. Crossing her arms she raised an eyebrow authoritavily at him while drumming her fingers on her biceps before bursting out into laughter and getting the biggest urge to mess up his head, but she suppressed it.
"Oi cheeky, don't disrespect your elders!" she smirked before playfully poking his arm and sticking her tongue out. The heat was becoming overwhelming, and seeing him have the right idea, she too began to pull off the restrictions of her clothes by pulling off her school jumper and her shoes, glad that she was wearing a skirt and a shirt underneath or she'd be baking right about now.
Just watching as the teacher and Noel had playful banter, she huffed slightly feeling her mouth begin to dry, and then flicked her attention back to the teacher as she asked something to describe herself. Grinning to herself, she thought for a moment before thinking of what she would say. "Definately a lioness" she piped up grinning, hoping somebody would make the resemblance.
Looking over at a loud noise that appeared from nowhere, Brooke saw the back of a head in buried in the sand, obviously it hadn't been there before, and all she could do was laugh, realising it was infact Willa. "Well what an entrance!"

Brooke said, and Willa rolled up her sleeves, pretending to whip out a comb and pull it through her hair like those guys did way back when with the gel and the leather jackets. Real old stuff. Cocking her hip to the side and acting all psuedo-cool, she cooly stated, "You just wish you were graceful like me." But her face broke into a grin and she was laughing again. Resting her hands on her hips the Gryffindor--having already joined the little assembly Brooke was in--crossed one foot over the other, standing straight but slowly leaning, eventually falling right over while still in a standing position. "Oh my." She laughed, "Shoulda had a V8." She said oddly, remembering the term from muggle class and how muggles said it sometimes when they did something stupid. Brushing sand off her shoulders and shakily getting up Willa was glad she hadn't seen any Slytherins put their name on the list, only because a class full of Gryffindors was one heck of a party. No need to bring any downers in the mix. "Hay N-ek, professor!" Willa said cheerfully with a little wave, nearly forgetting to say hello. Whoop![/ul]

Noah brushed off Brooke's comment with an easy half smile, one corner of his lips quirking upwards. Six years with the girl parading in the Common Room like a madman had led him to believe she was quite the lioness indeed.
After shoving over to make space for Sarie, purposely bumping violently into Brooke numerous times with eyes sparkling innocently, Noah had to look over to the familiar face that entered the room. Willa fell another time for good measure and Noah hid his smirk.
"Actually, it looks like you drank a bit too much," he pointed out, making light of her V8 comment and sending her an impish grin.

"Thank you Noah." Sarie said sitting down next to him. She had noticed all of the Gryffindors appearing. "Well Noah aren't you popular?" She listening to what was going on around her. She smiled liking my with a group of people.

Finally, a class worth taking! Polaris smiled widely as she made her way down the abandoned hallway that held the door to the mythology room. Hoping that she wasn't late, the Ravenclaw hastily opened the door, only to have the dread of a desert right at her feet. She would have huffed and put up somewhat of an attitude if it had been too hot, but the temperature was quite surprising for their surroundings. A warm breeze tugged at the lockes of her hair as she shut the door behind her and fully entered the classroom.
Nodding a greet to the new Professor, Polaris smiled kindly. She never was one to be too cocky or mean, though she, as everyone, had her moments.
A frown soon made it's way to her pale features, noticing that noone of her house was in her class, let alone any friends. She did spot Noah, however, but seeing that he was already surrounded by his house-mates, Polaris only offered a faint smile and wave. It was awkward and new to her, the thought of being surrounded by a crowd of friends. One or two was fine, but she thought more would be a hassle, and she was quite shy.
Turning her thoughts and bi-coloured eyes to the pyramids standing proudly behind the Professor, she began to daydream about the rest of the class and what it would be like. Fun, she hoped!

The wind blew clouds of sand at him and while attempting to shield his eyes, Noah laughed at Sarie. "It's Miss. Accident-Prone over there that's attracting all the attention, actually." He sent Willa a secretive smile.
When the small storm of sand finally died, Noah was surprised to see Polaris standing in the midst of the desert, clearly not having been there before. Rumpling sandy hands through his hair, finding the strands hot from the sun between his fingers, Noah met her gaze. His face folded from teasing to tender in a matter of seconds and he waved back.
Pointing at himself, he retrieved his cheeky grin. "Oy, Stormwrath! You're a bit overdressed." His voice was filled with playful lewdness that any average sixteen year old boy would have trouble resisting.

Noah was right, she was just about to keel over and die right on the spot due to the heat. Granted, it wasn't hot, but it was the desert. Sticking her tongue out at the boy, she couldn't help but agree with his words. After looking at all the other students that had taken their school clothes off, she decided to as well.
First the jumper, then the cloak. Phew. Polaris smiled widely at the wonderful cooling sensation that came over her once the restrictions of the clothes were gone, revealing an absolutely badass shirt that was labeled with Blind Guardian and some jean shorts. Excellent.
The professor then tossed her a hat, like she did to every student, and Polaris accepted it quite happily. Pulling on the pharaoh-esqe hat, she realized that she and everyone else looked ridiculous, but almost instantly cooled. Good thing, or else she would have been burnt.. bad.

Isis didn't sleep that night too much had been going round in her head. Especially the fact that she was going to take a new class was making her nervous. She felt like a total goose for signing up because she clearly wasn't ready for being confrontated with her father's passion. Mythology. She was afraid of crying in class and painful memories.
Isis didn't take breakfast this morning as she wasn't hungry because of the nerves that were making her feel sick and miserable. She ambled like a zombie through the hallway following a Ravenclaw girl with bi-coloured eyes, she had seen her while signing up, as she gave a quick look in the blinking suit of armour of the artificial knight she noticed that she walked and looked like a zombie. Isis didn't care much for that as looks weren't important to her.
Isis entered the classroom together with the Ravenclaw girl. Isis sort of freaked out as she noticed that she didn't have the cold stone of the Hogwarts corridors under her feet but gritty desert sand. Isis tried to hide her surprise as the others seemed to be used to the surroundings, but she couldn't. She accepted the hat from the teacher who she gave a quick quirky smile. Isis sat down a few distances away from the herd of bigger, taller, wiser students.

"Bah!" She exclaimed, waving her hand in the air as if shrugging it off before crossing her arms and then one foot over the other. In time she started to lean with the wind, falling over again still straight as if in a standing position. Spitting sand out of her mouth for the second time she shook her head and pushed herself up, leaning against Sarie for support. "Maybe you're right." She laughed, catching the accident-prone comment and squeezing her eyes shut to stick her tongue out at Noah. Uncrinkling her eyes and grinning, Willa caught the smile, feeling the sense of secrecy but as of the moment remained unsure on what to make of it. There was no time for deciphering anything at the moment, as a Pharaoh's hat was thrown at her. Being the extremely graceful person she was, her hands came up a moment too late to catch it, and she was abruptly hit in the face. "Oof!" The Gryffindor grunted, picking it up after it fell to her lap and rubbing her forehead. As everyone started putting them on she waited a bit, nursing her bruising face before tugging it over her big, curly hair. These things weren't built for people with her hair, it seemed, and it was tight. The moment she took it off she'd probably have big circles over her eyes wherever there were air holes to see and breathe. Lovely. Ah well, at least she'd have fun with it. With hers on now she pointed at Noah, and muffled laughter could be heard from underneath her mask. "You look ridiculous!" She snickered, whisking her wand to create little snapshots of everyone that would flutter and gather themselves on her bed back in the common room. She just had to remember this. "I'm clumsy as it is, think of all the damage I could do wearing this!" She pondered the possibilities, dancing a little to a song inside her head. "Oy, nice shirt Polaris!" Willa complimented the Ravenclaw suddenly, offering her a thumbs-up. Remembering then that the professor had requested she say something about herself, Willa went with the easiest approach. "A paperclip." She grinned cheekily, describing herself with an insignificant little object that did so much as hold things together and nothing more. Though then again it could kill someone if it was bewitched to do so, so you should all fear it.[/ul]

Post by Professor Rayna Olman on Jul 27, 2008 19:53:19 GMT
Rayna was having a jolly old time with all of the studens and their interesting personalities. Not to mention how they interacted with one another! So interesting! Things were never like that for her when she was in Beauxbatons.
"Right! Well, since you all gave me a thing to describe you, albeit odd, but useful! From the names of the items you gave me, I will now bestow upon you Egyptian names equivalent to what you chose!" Rayna said, a bit too excited for her own good.
Point her wand first at Noah, she mumbled something under her breath, causing a small sticker with the print on it saying 'Hello, my name is: Khenti'. "Now, since Noah gave us all such a prime example of what his thing was, he got the name meaning 'Leader'." She announced with a smile before beginning to point her wand at all of the other students.
She explained all the meanings to each student as she revealed their names with a flick of her wand, hoping that each one would like their name. It reflected not only their inner personalities, but their interactions with others as well.
Brooke - Bastet (The lion headed godess) Willa - Nafre (Meaning 'Goodness') Sarie - Fukayna (Meaning 'Intelligent') Polaris - Sekhmet (Goddess of hunting and wild animals.) Isis - Irisi (Meaning 'Fashioned by Isis') Alice - Bahiti (Meaning 'Fortune')
Motioning with a hand for all the students to follow her, she turned heel and began to walk in the direction of the pyramids. "Alright, if you could follow me please! Any students that come in late will have points deducted from their house and will have to catch up with us in the pyramids!"
And so began the great adventures of Mythology Class!

Sarie stood up. She was called Fukayna which meant intelligent. She liked her name a lot. She brushed the sand from her robes and headed after the teacher. She knew she was going to have fun. She stumbled in the lose sand a bit as she walked she couldn't wait to see what was going to happen next.

Polaris smiled at Willa's comment and grinned. Giving her the ol' devil horns as a silent 'thank you', the Ravenclaw then turned to listen to the professor as she announced everyone's Egyptian name. Hearing her own rambled off, she couldn't help but smile. Sekhmet, I like it.
"Oh, she's good." The animagus said with a laugh, showing her approval. As the professor turned and began walking forward to the pyramids, Polaris could hardly wait. What treasures were they going to see, she wondered to herself while her legs lead her in the direction of the pyramids.

Although Noah knew the name tags were necessary, he couldn't help but feel they looked particularly tacky on him. After several secretive attempts at pulling it off, he gave up and sent a slight, elusive smile toward Miss. Olman. She seemed to have thought of everything; at least his name was cool.
Throwing an arm over Willa's shoulder, he shook his head while tracing her newly given name with a finger just hovering over her tag. Steering them across the desert - surely helping her avoid quite a few accidents - Noah kept his gaze focused on the Professor while addressing his housemate playfully.
"Maybe Olman was being nice - or maybe the Egyptians didn't have a word for clumsy," he whispered, flashing a grin at her before dropping his arm and pausing in his steps, letting the class move on without him.
Craning his neck, Noah looked toward the door expectantly. Echo was late, and though he was thrilled and humored at being more punctual than her, he found her lack of presence was ultimately boring him.
Finally looking away - she'd turn up eventually - Noah jogged back to the class, shielding his eyes with a hand to glance at the pyramids ahead of them.
