Before posting in the classroom, it is manditory to register on the roster. Having spent days preparing for this class by decorating the room and coming up with a clever, fun way to teach the class, Rayna finally decided that the room was finished and today was the day the class would start. Everything was in place and it looked fabulous! Maybe she went a bit over board, but it fit the theme in what they would be learning about: Egyptian Mythology.
It seemed as if the whole of the classroom was simply tossed smack dab into Giza, right next to the great pyramids. There was a warm breeze blowing throughout the room, totally defying the logic of any walls being there in the first place. Then again, it looked it as well. The walls were seemingly gone and replaced with endless blue sky with the background of the three pyramids standing proudly a few thousand feet away. Being replaced by millions of trillions of grains of sand, the floor too, was gone. Any remnants of classroom that remained was the door in which the students walked through, and a giant, sealed box.
She had done a good job. Or, in the least bit, had hoped the students would like it. What a shocker it would be once they step through the door! "Rayna, you bean, you really out-did yourself this time!" She exlaimed quite happily while placing her hands on her hips. Rayna couldn't help but carry a wide, excited smile on her lips as she looked expectantly at the door, waiting for the students to pour in. This was it!

Sarie hurried it was the first day of Mythology. They were covering Egyptian today and she wanted a good seat. She ran down three stair cases being lectured by a perfect that she passed. "Sorry.." She called as he passed.
When she made it to the room she thought she had taken a wrong turn. She smack dap in the middle of Ciro, Egypt. To her right was the great pyramids. She felt her mouth fall open. "I'm in the right room, I hope." She made her was roughly though the sand that replaced the floor. "This is great I love it." Her eyes where wide.

Alexis knew she was taking on too much. She had signed up for so many classes she had no idea how she was going to fit in yet another, but when she heard about this class she had to sign up for it. The idea of it had her reeling but missing out on such a thing seemed the foolish choice. So now she could be found walking down the hall headed straight for the class. From the information she had gathered the professor was new to the school, Alexis hoped she was nice.
The door stood ajar so she walked right in and saw her new teacher. Smiling and saying good morning she turned and her mouth fell open as she walked into what seemed like another world. Some of the professors went all out for their classes but this one took the cake. For several minutes the Ravenclaw stood there awestruck before closing her mouth and moving toward Sarie. Trying to keep the surprise from her voice she said hey Sarie another class in common for us huh. I see you more than my house mates" she joked. "How have you been?"
(sorry about that fixed up the post and I'll go sign up now)

((Alexis, I'd appreciate it if you read the post before replying. Not only did you not register for this class, but also are sitting in seats that aren't even there!))

Post by Brooke Kennedy on Jul 24, 2008 18:35:43 GMT
After signing up to Mythology class, Brooke didn't realise that the actual starting up of it would be so soon afterwards. As she lay spread out on the gryffindor couch, her finger wrapped in bubblegum connected to her mouth, she unravelled it and lead it into her mouth at the same time continuing to chew until it was all completely back in her mouth. Looking over at Bryn and Zayne, she rolled her eyes as they were playfighting, part of her wanting to join in but the other part was to relaxed.
Looking over at the mouth of the dorm rooms, a couple of third years came flying down the stairs and ran rather awkwardly with their bags slapping the back of their legs, making them buckle every couple of steps before fumbling for the painting and pushing it open with force. Proping herself up, she heard them mutter something about Mythology and being late, and Brooke's eyes widened. "Oh merlin's beard" she cried, jumping over the arm of the couch much to the shock of Bryn and Zayne. "I'm gonna miss Mythology!" she managed to grumble as she flew towards the painting and down the stairs. She didn't stop running until she got to the door and lazily pushed it open, extremely exhausted.
Realising she wasn't infact late, and had somehow beaten the other students down to the classroom, she looked around at the vast sanded area and looked confused for a second before looking from both students then back to the teacher. "Blimey" she exasperated before pushing the door closed once again.

When Alice was making her way to Mythology that day she would never have expected the lesson to be like this, or the classroom at least. In fact when the poor little Hufflepuff pushed open the classroom door her mouth dropt open and she quickly slammed the door shut, staying on the side of the door which she knew to be Hogwarts. Looking around the almost empty corridor nervously Alice took a deep breath and yet again opened the classroom door, her shock the same as when she had entered originally…it was impossible.
Taking a small step in she could feel the sand beneath her feet, a warm breeze blowing around them and the purest blue sky brought out the colour of everything in the room. Pulling her bad back up onto her shoulder Alice continued to make her way into the room finding it hard to take everything in.
“Geez” She muttered as she walked over towards the other students. “This ain’t what I had been expectin.” The Hufflepuff looked over at the Professor, a wide grin was still etched across her face as the sheer amazement of everything was still too over welling, “Magic is amazin ain’t it!”

"Yeah I guess so. Fine how abut you? " She said looking at the Ravenclaw. She heard the door open again then turned to see the next person reaction. "Blimey." was all they could say. She smiled she knelt down to feel the sand it was hot but nice in away.
The door opened agian then was slammed shut. The person reentered the room. It was Alice Simmons a Hufflepuff second year that Sarie had met just the other day. "Alice hey." She called. "Aren't they lovely." She waved her hand over to the pyramids. "Professor this is great are you going to do this for every lesson?" She asked hopefully.

"You make one Hell of an alarm clock, Kennedy!"
Noah caught the door just before Alice shut it and swung the hinges back open with an easy thrust. His hair was rumpled across his forehead and wound around his ears messily as he stepped inside the room, immediately noticing Brooke. Remarkably, he noticed the Gryffindor girl before the sand or pyramids.
"There I was, sleeping soundly in the Common Room like an angel, really, and --" He strode into the room, though promptly sunk into the sand and widened his eyes.
"-- What in Hades?" He swept a puzzled gaze across the room, clearly not expecting the Egyptian backdrop. Staring at it wildly, he stuck a hand through his hair and grimaced as the mysterious wind dusted sand between his roots.
The sun was intensely hot, and staring up at it for a moment, Noah broke out into a crooked grin. "Well, when in Egypt do what the Egyptians do..." He then promptly chucked off his shoes and robes, throwing them aside.

As she watched the students pour into the classroom, Rayna couldn't be more pleased. All of the expressions were what she was hoping for! Excitement, awe and fear to name a few.
"Good afternoon, children! My name is Professor Olman and I'm sure you know that I am the new mythology professor. She introduced herself, giving a nod of the head, the smile on her lips never leaving once. She could tell that this was going to be a fun class for everyone, herself included! "Oh, and yes, Miss Thimble, we will be doing this every class I hold. What better way to learn than actually being in the place where the legends took place!" She always thought that true and found it the best was for the students to learn.
Once spotting Noah, she had to have a laugh. "Now, children. You don't have to do what Mister Yves did, but I am going to provide all of you with Pharaoh hats to protect you from the sun while making you look quite stylish too!" She said while handing out the hats to the lot of the students.
"These hats were only to be worn by the pharaohs as a symbol of status and wealth, most of the times, the hats consisted of egyptian silk, the best cotton around and often leafed and woven with gold." She stated while putting her own hat on.
"Just a few more minutes, students, and we will be off to explore the greatest pyramid of all! The one built by the great pharaoh Khofu!" Rayna almost couldn't contain herself.
"But before that, I must ask all of you to give me one word to describe who you are. It may be an animal, emotion, a state of being or what you love. For example, I love flowers." She prompted the class, interested in hearing and seeing how the students would react to this seemingly odd question.

"Yes, I love history and mythology." She said. She looked at her fellow Gryffindor who had taken his shoes and robes off. She shook her head. She looked at the hat the professor was holding. It looked really nice. She wiped some sweat from her forehead with her handkerchief. She hadn't know how handy the things where till her potions lesson.

Noah leaned back on his arms, collar now unbuttoned and tie hanging limply around his neck. The sand was scorching beneath the pads of his fingers, and he was relieved when he raised his arms off it to catch the Pharaoh artifact, but visibly miffed that the professor had addressed them as children.
Noticing with relish how light it seemed to be, he placed it securely onto his head and marveled at how it resized itself to his fit. He could see the gold glint of it on his forehead and smirked.
"Well, I guess the words to describe me are pharaoh?" He pointed lazily at his hat, sending a pair of raised eyebrows toward Sarie. Then, growing serious, he leaned forward as if taking part in a personal and intimate discussion with the professor. "You'll show us the mummies won't you?"

Rayna had to have a laugh at Noah's antics. She could already tell that he was going to be an exceptional student.
"Mister Yves, I will show you anything your heart desires while we are here, so long as it has to do with Egyptian Mythology, that is. And that does infact.. include mummies." She laughed softly while giving a nod.
"And you'd describe yourself as a king, huh?"

The excitement in Noah's eyes was easily distinguished, sparkling like mischief. He had visited Egypt long ago, back when he was mostly unaware of wizards at six years old - The mummies had fascinated him to no end, and he could only wonder what secrets the elaborate coffins would hold with a hint of magic.
Clearly satisfied with the answer, Noah leaned back on his palms while airily brushing sand from the creases of his trousers. "Well," he grinned wolfishly, "if the crown fits."

Sarie giggled at Noah's antics. To her surpise the crown did fit. "Wow it does that funny." She looked at him she smiled. "Isn't that hot?" She went over to him.

Noah soaked in the warmth of the classroom, feeling as though because the lesson hadn't started, he was almost able to pretend it was some sort of vacation.
Peeking at Sarie from his closed eyes, he shrugged. "Quite cool, actually. Unnaturally so." He smirked to himself, thinking the professor must've thought things through to keep them comfortable. Clever enough, he mused to himself. At least if it kept him from burning.
