[Potions] L1: Treasure Hunt!

[Angelique Juliette]

It was as if professors that insisted on pairing students up for these lessons enjoyed refusing students of the same house to be partners. What was the harm in Angel and Jason teaming up? They could probably have knocked out this assignment in minutes. Instead she was saddled with some Ravenclaw. Angel sighed then looked down at her nails finding them more interesting than what was coming. Here she thought this was going to be a stellar potions class, instead she gets a stinking treasure hunt and a lump of Claw to anchor her down.

Managing to find all the ingredients in a timely manner would ensure that she didn't have to deal with him for too long. Staring around the room she looked for the boy she was paired with spotting him. "Hello there" it came out rather polite. That was rather shocking but she often surprised herself. "So are you ready? How did you want to do this stay together or split up?" She even gave him options, what was this Angel getting soft. NO, she just wanted this to be done with so she figured a bit of diplomacy was in order.

Polaris & Beckii
As Polaris searches in the forest, and climbs up a tree, in search for a porcupine. As you reach the last branch, you balance carefully on it while looking for any signs of living life. As you are about to to climb down you hear a hiss and see the snake slide down the tree. Maybe if you hurry you can catch up with the snake and attempt to capture it, or will you search somewhere else?

Sarie & Madeline
As Madeline checks under a tree, she has no luck. There are no signs of any ingredient being here ever.
However as Sarie check some bushes she comes across something slimy...only to realise it's infact Troll snot that has been planted there as a red herring! Better luck next time!

Angelique & Bradyn

Jason & Alexis
As Alexis checks under the seats of the great hall, she comes across a dung bomb which explodes in her face. Oh dear!
As Jason checks under an extremely old log in the forest, he comes across a couple of horned slugs. Success!!

Cairo & Via

As you search the fountain, there is nothing there. However as you pull your arms from the water you feel something knock your hand. It could be some gravel or something more. Will you continue searching the Fountain or not?

[Polaris Stormwrath]

Speculating eyes widened and a wolfish grin appeared on Polaris' features once she spotted the snake. Finally! Jumping down from the tree and waiting at the bottom of the tree, she watched as the snake slithered down the trunk and atop of some damp leaves without moving a single muscle. The animagus was already crouched down and waiting for the right time to strike. And this was what she excelled at. Not classes, not getting along with other students, but hunting. Sometimes her instincts got the best of her, which was perfectly normal in an animagus, but not so great for one of her size. Her lust should be sated now that she would be killing that snake, fortunately enough.

Letting out a low growl, Polaris them jumped the snake, holding it down with her two front paws as she bit into it. With one well-excecuted strike, the snake was dead. She shifted back to her human form and picked up the snake, letting it simply limp in her grasp. "Excellent." She whispered with a self satisfying grin on her lips, which she then wiped at to rid herself of any snake residue.

Taking up her wand and tapping the inside of the snakes mouth a few times, it's fangs dropped out onto the ground. "Well, I promise I won't let you go to waste, Mr.Snake. Polaris said with somewhat of a kind smile as she bent over and collected the fangs before putting the snake in her small satchel. When ever something was killed, or she killed herself, she always followed the rule that nothing of the animal shall be wasted. And this was true! She'd end up eating the meat and using the bones for one thing or another.

"Now, onto the porcupine. Maybe it's still here?" She asked outloud curiously, looking around and walking further into the forest. Not too far, of course! There was a barrier up.

[Cairo Blackwell]

"Woah, wait." Cairo called to Via as the girl kept looking in the bushes; something had bumped her slender hand as she tried to withdraw it. Whisking her wand out she pointed to the water. "Immobulus." She whispered as the water froze (just stopped moving, not became ice), then, "Wingardium Leviosa!" to lift it up. Any objects in the water would still slip out, as the water was still liquid, just not moving by the push of the fountain. Peering closer to see what had hit her hand as something fell out and landed with a soft thud against the stone floor, the Slytherin kept a careful distance, eyes locked on the rock bowl of the fountain.

"Hey Via, do you see anything?" The Slytherin called to her, and the Hufflepuff girl came over to look inside. Via leaned over the edge, arm reaching out to gather whatever had fallen into her palm and lift it up. "Is this it?" She wondered, and Cairo shrugged her shoulders. What exactly was it?

[Bradyn Reed]

Rotten luck, he was sort of hoping that he'd get stuck with Eugey so they could continue their little banter while beating everyone out in this stupid contest. Instead he was stuck with another Slytherin and she seemed about as thrilled as he was. "Yeah, like hell I'm doing this by myself while you're off doing absolutely nothing. This'll be easy enough, so I don't really see a need to split up." He said without a greeting and without much of an attempt to be nice, either. Looking around, he realized they were already behind and smirked. Slytherin was holding him back, that was particularly bad.

"Let's hit the Owlery first, I don't think anyone else is there." He said and took off without much of a care for her opinion. If she didn't want to go there, he didn't particularly care if she didn't follow him. Bray worked better alone anyway, maybe then he could sniff out the ingredients the way any animagi would.

As always the owlery was a hustle of noise and movement from the owls, as well as a fowl smell that could hide any of the ingredients. Casting a glance back for his partner, he just shifted smoothly into his cat form before pawing around in the nearest burrow.

[Sarie Thimble]

Sarie was wiping her hands off on a handkerchief. She had troll snot on them. She headed to the middle of courtyard to meet Madeline. She saw her coming. "I got nothing how about you?"

[Jason Walker]

And into the pocket they go! Jason thought with a smug grin on his expression as he stuffed the slimy slugs into his front pocket. No doubt that the snotty Ravenclaw was having a hard time without him. Who wouldn't? He was the most brilliant one in the class, after all. Save for the Professor. A small snicker emitted from his grinning lips as he continued to search the forest floor on his knees. Now, nettles are found usually in groups and not near any trees. From that, the clever Slytherin then crawled his way to a clearing illuminated by broken beams of sunlight, hoping that the patch of plants he saw shining dully would be the nettles. Where the hell else would plants grow besides the forest, maybe the courtyard and herbology rooms?[/color]

[Madeline Weston]

After checking and double checking Madeline had yet to find even a trace of slugs. Or, for that matter, any other of the ingredients. "Stupid slugs." She muttered childishly, standing at last. "Hope they die." Turning, Madeline made her way to the center and saw Sarie doing the same.

"I got nothing how about you?" Sarie asked. "Same here." Madeline said sourly, at this rate they wouldn't find a thing! "Does the Quidditch pitch sound good to you? I doubt anythings there but no harm in checking right?"

[Alexis Heart]

She never saw it until it was too late. Suddenly she figured out way too late that what she had seen was a dungbomb. "Oh no" she mouthed silently right before the thing exploded. Shock registered on her face right before she fell backward hitting the back of her head on the floor. Stars danced around in front of her eyes as tears began to stream down her face. "You've got to be kidding me" she snapped at the remains of the dung bomb which now littered the floor.

Given any other circumstance she probably would have stayed there and nursed her injury but she was loosing time. So it wasn't around the staff table. Perhaps...Back down on the main level she found a lamp in the corner with light burned out. Figuring it might be stuck in the fixture, taking a chair she climbed it trying to see if there might be anything at all in this fixture. Hopefully her hunch was right this time she didn't think she could take something else exploding in her face.

[Angelique Juliette]

Angel wanted to slap that arrogant little toe rag. That was exactly the reason she was never nice to no ones like him. Teachers didn't anticipate this? Were they that ignorant and stupid? Angel gave Professor Vaid a nasty look, all she wanted to do was concoct a potion but that was simply too much to ask no they had to make a silly game of it. Now she left standing there angry trying to reign in her temper before she did something she would regret.

The boy headed to the owlery and Angel was glad because she refused to be anywhere near him. Needed some fresh air she chose to head to the Quidditch Pitch. Running out of the building she felt better once the cool air hit her face, the sunlight bathing her cheeks in its glow.

Now where would an ingredient be. The pitch was rather large so it could be just about anywhere. The first thing that caught her eye was the broom shed. It would be a good place to store something like a porcupine, with all of the broom bristles it would and could easily blend in. Since there was nothing stopping her she ran over there and pulled opened the door maybe she'd get lucky that would make up for the rudeness she had to endure earlier.

[Sarie Thimble]

"Does the Quidditch pitch sound good to you? I doubt anythings there but no harm in checking right?" She nodded and headed toward pitch. She smiled at her partner.

"Well I don't thinnk any body has checked there yet so lets go before some one gets the same idea."

[Madeline Weston]

"Gotcha." Maddie said, following her partner to the Quidditch Pitch. They arrived quickly and Madeline wasted no time in beginning her search. She doubted anything was there but if there was, it was better she got it than another team, right?

[Sarie Thimble]

Sarie headed around edge of the pitch. She was going to around the full out side if she had too. If there wasn't any thing there she would check around the posts. She really wanted to get going.

As Polaris wanders further into the forest, it becomes darker with each step. As you spot the porcupine you follow it onto to hit the barrier, better luck next time!
Sarie & Madeline
As you make your way to the quidditch pitch you spot a small patch of nettles. You have no gloves however, so how do you get it?

Angelique & Bradyn
As you search the owlery, a snake springs out at you and begins to try attacking the owls. It is now in your hands to rescue the owls and capture the snake for its fangs! Good luck!

Jason & Alexis
As Jason crawls along the floor in the forest searching for nettles, he is out of luck. Alexis searches a lamp fixture but also finds nothing of importance.

Cairo & Via
What Cairo has found is not an ingredient, but a bag full of dead toads that when pulled from the water will burst back into life. Eeep!!

[Polaris Stormwrath]

Upon hitting the barrier, Polaris yelped and quickly shifted out of her animagus form to rub her nose. "Damnit! I was so close! Damn you Porcupine, I'll get you!" She shouted while banging her quite human fist again the barrer.

With a huff, the Ravenclaw turned heel and quickly jogged out of the forest and to the courtyard. "Maybe there's some little porcupine babies here.." Polaris mused while getting on her hands and knees and poking around in the bushed carefully.
