Polaris didn't know who Beckii but was, but she was sure that they'd get along. Now, this treasure hunt put Polaris and her partner at an advantage. Getting up and walking over to Beckii, she greeted her with a friendly smile and head nod. "Hei, I'm Polaris. I have some pretty good ideas to where the items will be located! Also, I'm curious if you wish to stick together or split up and increase our chances of finding the items?"
The Ravenclaw was hoping that her accent didn't deter the fellow house member in trusting or understanding her. Polaris tilted her head to the side, curious to know what Beckii thought and had hoped that her ideas weren't sprung on her too fast. Being a wolf animagi represented many things, and leadership was one of them. Still smiling, she awaited her partners answer.

Peering forward at the sheet, large eyes flicking over it in search of her name and that of her partner's, Cairo felt a wave of relief wash through her: she was partnered with a Hufflepuff named Via Thorn. They were generally nice, if the prejudice was correct, and actually pretty smart. Much more preferable to the Snakes who tormented her all the time. She had seen her around the halls a couple of times, fleeting moments, but they existed all the same. Walking over to her with a small smile, she gave a wave of her hand. "I'm not evil." She laughed, with a gesturing glance at a few other unmentionable Slytherin characters present at the lesson. "Can't say the same for them though. I'm Cairo." Though Bryn was missing from this picture to her utter disappointment, there was no way she was about to win this without making a friend first. They were partners after all, and perhaps Via would learn to trust her in time anyway. Cairo didn't look at all like a scary, snooty Slytherin.
"Have any idea on where to look?" She leaned closer, whispering conspiratorially in case anyone else was close and might overhear. Luckily she lowered her voice to barely above a whisper, though the Hufflepuff was sure to hear her. "I want to check the Courtyard." Something might be bagged and at the bottom of the fountain. If the Hufflepuff nodded her agreement they would set off together, quickly winding through the halls and making their way outside to search the Courtyard. "We can both split up to search here, if you want. I'd like to check the water." Leaning over the stone banister of the fountain, Cairo put her weight on her stomach, leaning towards it to get her arms deeper inside. Slowly but carefully moving them around in a complete search of the pool. Hopefully she'd find a waterproof bag in there that didn't contain someone's missing homework assignment, but one of the ingrediants instead.
If not she'd withdraw her arms, beads and ropes of water plummeting from her skin back into the pool. "Rotten luck." She'd curse quietly, eyes darting off around the Courtyard, looking for Via to see if she found anything.

Via was running late, and for her, this was rather strange indeed. Her natterjack toad Arnie had been playing up and he would not come out from under a wardrobe in the boys dorm. Via had been forced to blackmailing him to eventually get him to come out of the dark crack under the hefty wardrobe. Quite typical for the toad to act up when Via was in a hurry.
Running down the corridor to potions class, her bag slapping against her thigh, she was glad she had charmed her bag to be bottomless so she didn't have to drag her cauldron around with it being awkward not to mention heavy. Giving a large breath, tired from running all the way from the dorm room to the potions classroom, she pushed open the door in time to hear they would be doing a treasure hunt for ingredients, but she didn't know what ingredients.
Hearing she was with Cairo Blackwell, she searched the room to see where the Slytherin was before finally landing her eyes on her and greeting her with a smile. "Hey Cairo, i'm sorry i'm late. Toads..." she huffed, still slightly out of breath. "So what ingredients are we looking for?" she questioned before Cairo gave a good idea about something maybe being in the fountain. "I tend to not judge people on face value, i'm sure your nice" she smiled sweetly at the Slytherin. "Good idea, lead the way!"

Yet another class where professors found it necessary to pair students together. Did they think students couldn't figure things out on their own? Did they think they needed help to keep afloat? She had no idea but sometimes it was rather annoying, Alexis liked working alone other people could hold you back sometimes they weren't of the same mind as you and that could make working together something akin to a nightmare. Too bad the choice wasn't up to her the professor willed it and so it would be. Perhaps she'd get paired with Sarie or Bradyn someone she could stand a chance with.
Wishful thinking should be banished, she tried that and look where it got her partnered up with a snake. She tried to keep from rolling her eyes but she didn't do that good a job. Jason she didn't know too much about him he didn't get into trouble in most classes but he was still what he was someone Alexis had to be wary of. She just wanted to get this over with as soon as possible.
Taking the first step she made her way to her partner laying down some ground rules. "We're partners I'm sure neither one of us is too thrilled with that but well that's the luck of the draw right. So listen I enjoy doing well I thrive on it actually. I do expect to do very well in this class I expect you're up to this challenge. I don't like loosing and I certainly don't like last. So you better be worth partnering with." Yes it was a gutsy move one she probably never would have attempted while the two were alone but in front of the rest of the class and the professors she figured there wasn't much to worry about from him.
First, she falls off a broom now she has to work with a snake. Today sure wasn't her day.

Jason raised a curious brow as Alexis approached him. Soon enough she was spitting out rules left and right. With a sigh, the Slytherin placed both hands down on his desk and stood up, towering above the small Ravenclaw. Hazel eyes burned into Alexis' own as they narrowed.
"I don't appreciate you coming over to me and immediately assuming that I do not wish to work with you because you are a Ravenclaw. I was hoping that you of all people would understand that, but yet again my hope in humanity fails me." With a faint sneer, Jason drew his wand and pointed it quite closely towards the girls neck. Though, he had hoped that by doing this the professor knew he wouldn't try anything, the girl had to know her place when with him.
"So, keep your tongue in check, girl, and we shall have no problems." He said before withdrawing his wand and placing it at his side. "Now. I have excellent ideas as to where the items are. Shall we stick together, or split up?"

Perhaps by standing he thought he would frighten her. He didn't. Perhaps by putting his wand to her neck he thought he'd frighten her. He didn't. Alexis could hold her own she had powers he did not so she was the last person who would feel frightened by some boy trying to bully her. The only thing she felt remorse for was making an assumption. It had been wrong on her part but that's the way it was at this school. Slytherins didn't get a long with half of the other students, those that weren't in their own house, some of the time they didn't even get along with each other. Never the less she wasn't about to apologize, not because she was being prideful but because of his actions. In doing what he did he simply proved that the evil streak she associated with Slytherins was there plain as day.
"I'll keep my tongue in check if and when I feel like it, so get that straight Jason. No one bullies a Heart. That being said maybe splitting up would be best, we could cover more ground that way. I can check the Great Hall first I suppose. Where would you like to go?" She just wanted this done and over with so they could get the ingredients and start to work on the potion.

Sarie didn't really know her. "Let's go check the grounds first." She headed out of room. She hoped that her partner would trust her. "Hopfully the horned slugs like the grounds. So lets go." She was now heading down the stairs. She hopped down the great stone steps looking seven instead of 12.

"The forest." He said before waving her off with a sigh. What the hell had gotten into him. Probably her assumption that all Slytherins were evil. Or bad. Or didn't want to work with other people. That was it. Though, like her, he wasn't about to apologise. He could have had her on the floor in less than a second flat, or worse. But, he had self control and wasn't even normally like that.
Girls, the only bane to his exsitance. Not that he was a queer, oh no, he wouldn't be caught dead kissing another man. Anyways, that was besides the point.
He would have to work with this girl, one way or another, whether he liked it or not. But for now, he simply turned his back and walked out of the classroom, heading for the forest without a word.

"Let's go check the grounds first. Maddie's new partner said, apearing before her rather suddenly. "Uhm, yeah, sure." She mumbled, before they both took off out of the classroom. Out of the dungeons, through the entrance hall and out through the main doors, finally emerging at the top of the steps.
"Hopefully the horned slugs like the grounds. So lets go." Sarie said, then began hopping down the stairs. For a moment Madeline stared, then shook her head. She's an odd one alright, but then again, so am I. So I guess I have no room to talk.
Descending the stairs to stand next to Sarie, Maddie used her hand to shield her eyes from the sunlight. She squinted against the light and looked around. "Ok then, I'll go check under that tree over there." Madeline pointed to her left, toward a decent sized oak."And you start over by those bushes." She pointed to her far right. "We'll start at those spots and then work our way back to the center, got it?"

The Slytherin finally arrived at the forest and began to go a bit deeper in. "There should be something here.." Crouching down, Jason looked underneath the leaves and dried logs for any signs of the slugs. Perhaps they like damp places? Atleast that's what he was hoping for. His Slytherin luck wasn't about to let him down this time, and neither was the Ravenclaw brat.

Taking off at a slow pace, Madeline kept her eyes peeled for Horned Slugs. She saw none on the way to the tree and quickly dropped to her hand and knees. Crawling around the tree she supposed that to anyone else she must've looked quite silly. "C'mon sluggy, I won't hurt you." She murmured. "All I'm gonna do is put you in a pot of boiling water...That's not too bad is it?"

Alexis did something she hated doing. A scowl settled on her pretty face as she watched the boy leave. Scowling lead scowl lines around the mouth and she certainly didn't want those. Think of something happy think of something happy, she told herself so that the scowl would turn into a smile. She thought of being out on the pitch but then she thought of falling today. She scowled again, the her brow furrowed she had to think of happy thoughts. She thought of home and that made her feel better she smiled happily once more scowl gone. Feeling more chipper she left the room and headed to the Great Hall.
Arriving she began to look around where could he have hidden the potion ingredient. If I were an ingredient where would I be. She thought to herself. Walking around she didn't look under the tables because she thought it would be too obvious. No she headed for the now empty staff table. Checking each seat she pulled them out one by one and in the last seat she thought she saw something that might be dried nettles. She went to investigate further.

After introductions, Polaris smiled and nodded. "Well, we better split up, then. I'm going to go to the forest first and then double around and come check the lake if you care to check the indoor places?" The Ravenclaw didn't intend to be in last and would prevent it at any cost, even if that was rushing her partner. Besides, Beckii would thank her later.
But for now, the two must be off! With a smile and a skip in her walk, Polaris made her way out of the castle and down to the grounds, finally arriving at edge of the forest. She stopped and looked around a bit for a moment before morphing into her animagus form. Bone and sinew shrunk, stretched and broke in mere seconds, resulting in the switch.
The wolf then made her way into the forest, digging her nose into the ground to follow a scent. Someone else was in here, no doubt, but she didn't care to find out who it was. She wanted to find those damned ingredients! Walking further into the forest, Polaris dug up under broken logs, searching for the snake. Once seeing that it wasn't there, she then turned her nose up to the tops of the trees, hearing something coming from there.
Porcupine?! She thought quite excitedly, causing her to leap up onto the lowest branch of the closest tree and from there, to the next branch. From branch to branch this wolf leapt until she finally landed on the branch from which she heard the noise come from. Crouching low to the branch, Polaris surprisingly kept her balance as she inched ever closer to whatever it was that was on the branch.

Sarie was now walking along the outside the clump of bushes. She was looking for a place to enter the bushes. She found a spot. Down on her hands and knees clawing into the bushes hoping a teacher wasn't going to come by. It would be rather embarrassing for a teacher to ask her what she was up too.
