Briar sat up and looked at him. Was he actually asking her out? Or did he only ask her because she had said she liked him. Bry chased the thoughts from her head and nodded, "I'd like that very much," she said playing with a button on Bradyn's jacket.
"Do want this back? You look kinda cold," she said with a laugh.

Bray wondered if it was so smart to ask her right then, since it may not sound very genuine but oh well the deed was done. At least she said yes, he could prove that he was serious that way. Bray smiled a bit. "Ok, so maybe next weekend.. or whenever."
Bray surpressed a shiver and shook his head. "Nah, you need it more than me." A man should be tough, afterall, and not be weak to something like the cold.

A grin spread across Briar's face as she looked at Bradyn, "Whenever sounds fine," she said with a small laugh. Bry hugged Bray's jacket tightly around her to keep the heat in, "You sure?" she said as a last offer, "cuz, I can give it back to you," she said laughing.
With a sigh, she laid back down in the snow, "Bray, why would you sit out here in the cold? You don't seem like the kinda guy that'll do that," she asked knowing she'd probably not get answer.

Bray nodded a bit. "Alright." He didn't really know when he'd get back to her on that, probably when he was confident that Shay wouldn't burst in and make them miserable; yes, that's when he would ask Bry out again. "Yeah, I'm not cold at all, just a little wet!" He said, pulling off his hooded sweatshirt so he was just in a teeshirt. Surprisingly, it wasn't really cold like he expected, it was probably just as cold as it was wearing his damp hoodie.
"Honestly? I don't remember why I'm out here.." He said, before he heard the crinkle of parchment in his sweatshirt and remembered the letter from his sister about the Ministry's Rogue persecution. Frowning a bit, he returned to his thoughts on why they had pointless things such as war. Were men just created to find new ways to hurt each other?

Briar gave a small shrug, "alright," she said to his answer. She grabbed his hand, turned it over and started tracing the lines on him palm. "Bradyn? Do you believe in Fate?" she asked, now tracing his life line. "I mean, do you think that our lives are just laid out for us and that no matter what we do, we meet the same ending that's written for us?" she asked seriously. She knew this wasn't a normal topic for a 15 year old to talk about, but Bry was a seer, how could she not be serious?
With a sigh, she let go of his hand and looked at her own for a moment. with a small groan, she buried her hand in the snow. "Forget I brought that up," she said, hoping it wouldn't bring up any questions. Bry didn't like people knowing she was a seer. The only people who knew was her family and she definitly didn't want the boy she liked to know.

Bray jumped out of his thoughts when Bry grabbed his hand so suddenly. He blushed a bit when he saw her stroking it oddly until he remembered the palmistry lesson and then he coughed a bit to clear his perverted mind before Bry noticed. "Fate.. definitely not. I'd rather not think that I am who I am and that I can't help it. Life's what you make it." He said, a little suspicious of why Bry would even bring that up in the first place.
"Are you sure you're alright?" He said after she saw the almost spiteful look she gave her own hand. Bray frowned a bit, he didn't like seeing Bry upset but it did distract him from his own troubles for the time being. He could always talk to someone in the common room about that.

Briar sighed and looked him in the eyes; her face serious. She didn't know if she should tell him or not, but against better judgment, she needed to tell someone, someone she could possibly trust... Someone like Bradyn. She played with the button on his jacket as she took a deep breath, "What would you say if I told you that I could tell you the exact date of things, and explain them as if I were there?"
She didn't know exactly how else to put it without saying it straight out. Her mother would kill her if she had just plain old told him straight out about her gift. Besides, she wanted to ease him into it. She liked him, like really liked him and she didn't want him to think of her as a freak. Bry combed her hair with her fingers, "Look, I don't know how to explain it, but I see things. Sometimes they actually happen, and sometimes they don't. It's like I see two sides to things, the side that everyone sees and the side that no one knows about..."
Briar looked down at the button she was fiddling with, "I don't know how else to explain it," she said with saddened eyes.

Bray raised his brow at Bry, she seemed only to confuse him more. "I'd say you have a really good memory..?" He frowned, obviously there was a big detail to what she was trying to tell him that he wasn't getting. Hanging out with Bry today seemed to make him feel rather foolish, which was definitely out of the ordinary. Today was a different day, but he couldn't really tell if talking to Bry was a good thing or a bad thing.
Then when Bry gave his second hint it instantly clicked and his arm flailed up a bit out of the natural habit of a student with the answer. "You're a seer? That's awesome!" He said deciding that could be the only logical answer, unless Bry was bad at making up clues. Bray was almost jealous of that. Sometimes he found students in school with such amazing talents that would put an animagus to shame, even if they wouldn't admit it themselves.

The fact that Bray had figured it out made Briar a little nervous. The only other student who knew was Fay. She didn't really know if sharing her secret was a good thing or bad, but she had to do it. You can't build any kind of relationship without trust, especially a friendship. She gave a sort of nervous laugh, "Yeah, I don't know if its that awesome, Bradyn. Infact, I don't usually let people know," Bry said looking down.
Why was she telling him these things? There was just something about the boy that made her want to tell him everything and anything. "I guess you could call it an 'inherited gift' of whatever. I'm not too fond of it though. It throws my personality in a loop everytime I have a vision. My visions usually never come true, but on rare occasion, it happens. It happens right in front of me in the exact way I see it," Bry looked at him, "Am I scaring you?" she asked with a laugh, trying to break her serious mood.

Bray nodded a bit, he felt that he understood her pretty well here."Well, you can't go around bragging about these things.. I don't tell most about my animagus, but for some reason a lot of people know." He said, scowling a little bit. What good was an animagus if the teachers knew about it anyway? "And being a seer is one of those more problematic ones, like Fay and her veela roots." Ah well, if Bry didn't know about Fay she had a right to since he hung out with her a lot. Bray knew, or at least hoped, that Bry wasn't the jealous and overprotective type.
Bray bit his bottom lip a bit when she started talking about visions. Now he was a bit more confused, some happened and most didn't? What was the point of being a seer when many visions were just like the common dreams of an average person? "Um.. I don't know if your scaring me, or just confusing me. Probably a little bit of both."

Briar nodded, "Yeah, I know about Fay. I think it's pretty cool!" she said with a grin, lightening up the mood. The truth was that she thought Fay was an awesome person, Veela or not. It wasn't like Bry was gonna be jealous over the fact that Bray hung out with Fay. She couldn't be, it just wasn't in her nature. Besides, it wasn't like Briar and Bray were officially going out anyway.
Briar sighed and shook her head, "Okay, they're not dreams to clear things up, they're actual visions, its just that sometimes things change that are supposed to lead up to the actual event and then the future changes. Do you get what I mean? I'm trying to make it clearer for you," she said with a laugh. "If you usually do something the same way everyday then one day decide to change your whole routine then your future changes," she said throwing her arms up.
She shook her head and laughed, "In simple terms: my visions go by basic routines. Change that routine, the vision changes. Being a minute late to class, or not even going can throw everything off course. Say one day you had a very important lesson but somehow I happen to get you to skip class," she said trying to explain it but probably complicating it more, "In that lesson, you were supposed to meet someone and because of that encounter a certain event or whatever would take place, but because you skipped, the encounter doesn't happen... and because the encounter doesn't happen, my vision doesn't happen."
Bry laughed, "Plus there's the fact that I still don't know how to interpret them quite yet. I'm still just trying to figure out how to not pass out!" she said in a laugh.
[[sorry... i SO complicated things with this post... but in truth... its how I'd explain something in RL!]]

Bray shrugged, he loved Fay --in a friendly way, of course-- but sometimes the veela thing unnerved him a bit and he really didn't want to be there when she went off on some guy. "Well.. you'd think it was cool if it couldn't affect you."
Bray nodded, knowing that a big long explanation was coming. He probably wouldn't be able to understand seers unless he started reading books on them, and it might upset Bry if she caught him with a stack of books like that in the library. He wouldn't like people researching him like he was some oddity. "Ahaha.. I think I'm more confused now." He pouted and quickly thought of a sentence to sum up what he understood from her seer rant.
"So, pretty much you just get clues to the future? and depending on whether or not you want that to happen you can choose your actions carefully..?" Yeah, if that made sense that's what he was understanding but it was all swimming around in his head with details that either worked together or contradicted himself. He shrugged, not sure he really wanted to talk about this anymore and he felt that he should have a big secret to tell her too but he didn't really have a big secret that she didn't know. "Umm.. I think you should be more positive about being a seer, because to me it's still not sounding bad.. except for the visions being.. excruciating? exhausting?" Bray would still be at the level of confusion where advice wouldn't be helpful, but he was trying so that should count.

Bry looked at Bradyn and smiled. Without warning, she leaned over and hugged him. She didn't know what it was that he helped her with, but she felt better, happier even. Maybe being a Seer wasn't a bad thing...
She pulled away and layed back down on the ground, "I guess I could be more appreciative about my gift. It's not always a bad thing just confusing at times. I'm still learning, so I should give it a chance," she looked at Bray, "Right?" she said with a grin.

Bradyn blushed when Bry suddenly hugged him. "uhh." Was all he said, unsure whether he should hug back or just sit there stunned. Dumb-struck seemed to be a good option since she pulled away, and looked happy again.
"Yes, yes. Exactly! I didn't like my animagus form at first, but then I got used to it. Plus, it's like a chick-magnet." He laughed, and winked a little bit. Now that Bry was happier again, he felt like he could laugh and joke again. The world was right again.

Briar laughed, "I've only heard about your cat form, I've yet to see it though," she said returning the wink. "Fay says its cute," she said with a laugh. Bry looked at him before she pulled him back down on the ground so he laid by her. She scooted over and placed her head on his shoulder. She didn't know if it was a good or bad thing to do, but she did it anyway. What's he gonna do about it anyway? Purr me to death?she thought to herself with a laugh.
For once in her life, Bry wasn't thinking bout the future. The only thing on her mind was the right now, right here. "Bray? Why do you care what Shay thinks?" she asked him, "It seems like your always trying to do what he wants you to do and not what you want to do." She didn't know if it was a touchy subject but she felt like she needed to bring it up. "I mean, don't you like to have fun with people without caring if someone is gonna pick on you about it?"
