Today was one of the warmer days of winter, warmer being a complete exaggeration considering there was still a healthy layer of snow covering the ground. When Bradyn was still a little boy on days like this, he'd be out in the garden digging some of the dead plants out. Now here he was at Hogwarts, almost a man and outside by himself.
He got a letter that morning from his family, more news about the Rogue-Ministry wars. This news usually just made him mad since his family was as split as possible on which side they were on. He didn't want to deal with it. So here he was wearing all the layers he could find and laying in the snow by the lake. Today wasn't a good day for practicing his ice skating, and flying wasn't encouraged outside of regulated practices. Bray decided that if he couldn't do something fun, he would just lay here and do nothing.
"Why do we have to deal with things like this? The clouds just crawl across the sky all day without a care in the world." He said to himself though he blushed a bit when he heard footsteps in the snow. It wasn't bad enough that he was laying there talking to himself, but sounding like a hippy was a little worse.

It was a nice day outside, and Bry was feeling great, ok, BEYONG great. She was wearing a plaid skirt, a sweater and her awesome fuzzy boots as she walked through the snow. She just wanted to be lazy today and didn't want to spend time worrying about school work, which she promised her mom she'd actually do this week. Yeah right.
Briar hated getting letters from home, but at the same time, she loved it. They were always letters about how her mother wished she'd be more like Ari, letters about how her father wished she'd stay out of trouble. At least the letters let her know they still cared about her. She always wrote them back with kind words.
Briar looked around by the lake and saw a big lump of something laying in the snow. At first she thought it was an animal, but as soon as she got closer, she realized it was a student; but not just any student, it was Bradyn.
A big, mischievious grin spread across her face as she ran towards him. Once she was close enough, she jumped on her, sending snow everywhere. She laughed, rolled over, and sat in the snow besides him. She began to play with the snow. making little snowballs that eventually turned into little snowmen, "What are you doing?" she asked, as she tried to put a head on one of the snowmen.

Bradyn figured that it was a student since a rogue wouldn't be out on the grounds at this time of day. He sighed figuring they'd just go on by, or try to socialize with him until they walked away from him not responding. He gasped in surprise and rolled over when he was pelted with snow. "What the!?" He said before he saw who it was. "Oh.. hey."
Bray rolled onto his stomach and faced her. He watched her make a little snowman, or snowomen, army and raised an eyebrow. One thing about Bry was her attention span, only for serious things could she pay attention long enough. "Would you believe I was drowning in the snow until you came and saved me?" He said the first thing that came to his mind, not really wanting to share why he was outside in the first place. How could he explain it in the first place?

Bry shook her head, "Nope, can't believe it," she said with a laugh, "You're lucky I saved you," she said grinning at him. She looked down at her snowman and frowned, "I'm no good with art" she said before knocking the snowman over.
Bry looked at Bradyn and smiled, before she laid down on her back next to him, "So, now what?" she asked as she stared up at the clouds, "I already saved you, so I can't do that again," she said, humor in her voice.
Bry didn't care what Bradyn was doing, she just loved being by him. He always made her day without knowing it. "I'm getting wet, and a little cold," she said with a laugh.
[[makes no sense, but thats the kinda mood I'm in...]]

Bray smirked. "I know, just think what the Daily Prophet would say. 'Student drowns in snow, Rogues to blame'." He laughed, almost amused even if Ministry-Rogue jokes weren't funny. Bray frowned when she knocked over the snowman saying the usual stuff about not being good enough. He didn't even know if snowmen would count as art, though.
Bray sat up and laughed a bit, she was cold already and she just got out here. "I've been out here for at least an hour, but I'm probably frozen solid." He fingered his natural curls, they felt like he just jumped into the lake itself and were stiff like he put gel in. "But I do have a lot more layers on than you. It's not that warm out here yet, you know."
[god, I'm getting sick..]

Briar laughed, "Yeah, I'm wearing a skirt," she said trying to steal his jacket ((If he's wearing one)). She looked at him as he played with his curls, "Don't do that! I like your curls! If you do that when they're frozen, they could break off!" she said jokingly.
[[its really short... but I'm tired and I'm gonna go to bed.]]

Bray laughed a bit, "Only you would wear a skirt in the winter, only you." He stopped playing with his hair to quickly shrugged off his jacket and toss it to her, it probably wasn't a bad fit considering Bray was pretty short for his age. Even without his jacket, he wasn't too cold but he did have a hoodie on under it, after all. "Break off, oh no what a crisis that would be." He laughed sarcastically before he frowned at the mental image of a chunk missing from his hair. That would not be very hot, now would it? After a minute, he realized there was a compliment hidden in the frozen hair joke. "Glad to know you like my hair, though." He tried to keep a straight face and wink but just ended up laughing, more at himself than anything.

Bry smiled as he forked over his jacket. She quickly sat up to put it on, then laid back down seconds later. She stuck her tounge out at Bray, "Just don't ever shave it all off," she said with a laugh, "I might never talk to you again if that ever happened," she said jokingly. She was silent for a moment, trying to make herself seem serious, but Bry was never good in dead silence. She sighed loudly, "ok... maybe I lied," she said with a smirk, "but please don't do that. It'd make me sad," she said, adding a smile.
Bry turned her head and looked at Bradyn with a smile, "So..." she simply said. Briar bit her lip, trying to remember what she was about to say but it was no use. It was gone... which wasn't really unusual for the girl. Sometimes she thought she shoulda been the blonde; not Ari.

Bray laughed then faked a puppy-dog pout when she said that she'd never talk to him again. "Yes, shaving my head in the freezing cold winter, that's my priority!" He said, managing to keep a straight face.. for a little while, anyway. Bray then smiled "I would rather die than shave my head!" He shouted and put his hands back up to his hair to confirm that it was still there and it was still frozen and icy to the touch.
Just how long had he been out there, Bray wasn't really keeping track of time. It could've been a few minutes, or a few hours before Bry had shown up. "So..?" He said, laughing a little bit at the random outburst. She obviously didn't remember what she was going to say, but that didn't bother him. It happens to everyone, after all.

Briar couldn't remember the last time she was without words. For some reason, she just couldn't come up with anything normal to say. She sighed and stared at the sky for a moment trying to form a sentence in her mind.
With another sigh, she looked over at Bray again, "So, um... I was thinking," she started already knowing this would probably be the stupidest thing she had ever done. Bry suddenly went quiet and her face flushed. Feeling the color drain from her body she quickly changed the ending of her sentence, "Maybe you could help me with some homework," she said stupidly.

Bray leaned back on his arms and yawned a bit. It was quiet now but it seemed like Bry had something big on her mind that she wanted to tell him. Bray also had something in mind he wanted to talk to her about and decided that know would be his chance while no one was around.
Snapping out of his little zone of thinking, Bray noticed that Bry was trying to say something, though it seemed to trouble her a bit. He smiled encouragingly and then tried to keep from laughing or smirking when he noticed her blushing. What was she trying to say? Surely homework couldn't be it. "Oh.. um.. yeah, of course. What do you need help on?"

Bry thought for a moment and bit her lip, "Astronomy?" she said more as a question than an actual answer. To be completly honest, Astronomy wasn't a class she took, she just needed an answer for Bray. Briar was actually pretty good at handing in her work, it was just showing up to class that was a problem.
With a sigh she confessed, "Ok, maybe I don't need help," she said looking at him with a smile. Briar laughed, "Forget I even asked you," she said nudging him.

Bray frowned a bit, if she was actually serious about this he wouldn't be much help since he opted for Dragonology instead of Astronomy so he didn't take it. But last time he checked, he thought Bry wasn't signed up for Astronomy either.
"Hah, I hate to admit I'm glad you don't need help since I don't take Astronomy." He grinned and pushed her back lightly before he laid back down in the snow. Bray had sat up and thawed enough, now he had to freeze over again. He looked back over at Bry. "Seriously though, is something wrong?" Bray asked seriously, frowning a bit at the fact that she wasn't comfortable enough to ask him or tell him what she wanted to.

Briar looked at him and gave a small sigh, "Nothing's wrong," she told him. Truth was, there wasn't anything wrong, she just didn't know how to put things in words. With another sigh she stared up at the sky, "You want to know whats on my mind, huh," she recited, staring at the wispy clouds.
Bry didn't know what to do, she was pretty much cornered now. She just didn't want to see how he'd react, "I guess, well," she started, "Um... ok fine!" she said throwing her arms up, "I like you!" she said loudly not caring who heard. With a sigh follewed by a smile, Bry suddenly felt releived that she had gotten it out. Maybe she shouldn't have said it that loud, but it wasn't in Bry's nature to do anything quietly.

Bray looked at her for a while. He could believe that nothing was wrong, but something was definitely bothering her, no matter whether it was good or bad. Bray sat back up since his sweatshirt was starting to have water seep through it and he was running out of layers to just take off in the snow.
What got Bray out of his little mental rant about his wet back was Bry and her very loud confession. He smirked and chuckled a bit to himself. “Way to beat me to the punch.” He said, winking a bit. “Of course I like you too!” Bray was just glad she said it first, since he probably wouldn’t have been able to say it himself. But if she was going to say she liked him, the least he could do was ask her out, right? “So.. since you like me and all.. do you want to go out sometime? Like get drinks at Hogsmeade, or something..” He said, realizing that he was starting to ramble on and forced himself to shut up then.
