Giving a yawn, Polaris called out a number and colour to continue the game. "Alright, red 6 anyone?" She looked around with both eyebrows raised, curious and anxious to see if she would get any cards. Although, her bi-coloured eyes seemed to be set on Shay as she watched him from under the brim of his hat almost expectantly...like she knew something.

Briar looked at her cards again and knew that she already had a red 6 but refused to give it to Bradyn when he asked before. Feeling defeated she decided to give it to Pol. "Fine... here," she said placing it on the table with a soft slap.
Bry looked at Bray and laughed, "I guess I didn't see it when you asked," she said with a playful smile, knowing that her statement was a lie.

"Hey!" He shouted and almost stood up when Bry gave her red six to Pol. "Well, I didn't want that card anyway, since I didn't have a red six." He pouted, and reshuffled his cards around in his hand before he put them face down on the table to keep prying eyes off them.
"So~, what's up?" Bray asked, trying to make idle chitchat while they played since he knew he'd get bored if they just played cards.

Bry laughed and nudge Bray with her shoulder. She looked at her cards again then shrugged, "Nothing really here. Trying to avoid my sister for a little while since she's already mad at me for even being here," she said with a mischeivious grin, "She thinks my goal in life is to ruin hers... which isn't true by the way," she said looking over at her perfect, blonde, smart, gifted sister, "she just happens to get in my way whenever one of my plans backfire," she said returning her gaze to Bradyn.
Briar's face suddenly got serious, "She thinks I'm jealous of her actually, and to be honest, I kinda am," she said, deciding that she had already said too much. She looked at her cards again, "I guess it's my turn," Bry said, returning the smile to her face, "Um... any black fours?" she asked the table.

Arabella shot a glance at her sister who apparently seemed to be enjoying herself with a game of cards. Ari rolled her eyes wondering what Briar's real reason was for being at Hogwarts, she knew it couldn't be good, it never was. She watched at Ashton got up and asked Maxi to dance with him. Feeling slightly alone, she decided to go and talk to Mark again.
Once she reached her destination, she looked at Mark and sighed, "Hey," she said trying to put a smile on, "Enjoying yourself?" she asked.

Polaris gave a faint look of sympathy to Brair as she slapped down black four. Catching Ari's look out of the corner of peripheral, she frowned slightly. She honestly didn't like feeling the tension between the two, almost feeling back for both parties. Shaking the feeling, Polaris looked back to the four as she relaxed a bit further against the back of her chair while remaining silent.

Looking through his cards for the red six, he snuck a peak at Pol from behind his cards. "Nope." He said, grinning. Watching as Bry forked over the six, he frowned. "Now we're tied.." He grumbled, but grinned again.
Shay obviously wasn't going to answer Bray's question. Bray knew perfectly well what he'd been up to. Studying with him. Running around the school, acting like the Slytherin he was. And failing his classes. He grunted at the thought of the last one.
Listening to Bry's story about how her and her sister didn't seem to get along, he looked up from his cards, and looked towards her sister. He knew her sister, he had met her a couple of times. As she called out the card, he began looking through them again. "None here." He replied, quietly. Seeing as Pol dropped down the five, he grunted again. Everyone but Bray seemed to have a match now.

Bradyn nodded. "Yeah, I have two older sisters. Much older though, both are in their twenties and have jobs. That doesn't stop them from being annoying, sadly. Black queen, anyone?" He asked after glancing at his cards again to make sure he actually had the card this time.
"And if you have it, actually give it up." He said, pouting particularly at Bry. "This game hates me" He frowned after he realized that he was in dead last now. They were ganging up on him, all of them.
[ my mom likes to do that too... it's annoying. ]

Bry took a glance at her sister, "You know what the funny thing is? I don't hate her, I hate myself," she said as she forked over Bray's card this time. She gave a smile when Bradyn mentioned something bout the game hating him so Briar nudged him again, "That's ok, I still heart you," she said laughing.
"I'm not good enough for her," she continued, in attempt to explain her statement, "and not being good enough for her bugs me. I have no special gifts. She's a seer and an empath. Our youngest sister is an animagus. I'm nothing... just plain old Briar."
After a moment she laughed, "Well I guess that's not too bad," she finished.

At that moment, a faint muffled voice could be heard one the other side of the door. "Hello? Is anyone here? Bri, Pol, Bray?" The voice continued. "Are you guys behind the wall?" He paused. "....Is that possible?" He knocked a couple of times. Katric was getting worried. Had he gotten lost again? He was able to memorize the way to his common room, and even most of the classes. But, he'd never been here before, and he was really, really confused. He asked some random person in the hall if they knew where his friends were. They replied they'd probably be at the party in to room of requirement....Whatever that was. He continued to pace a bit like he normally did when he was lost. Worked for him last time.

Alexis had stayed quiet most of the night, stood with her sister. She still felt a little awkward after the bust up with Ashton and everyone else. She sighed as she sipped her juice, watching as people were playing cards, Maxi and Ash were dancing, Mark was still speaking to Ari, though for some reason she could feel his uneasiness, well that was obvious. She was Mark's sister.
She watched as the room became a swirl of people, she knew that half of most people were invited, and she knew the other half would just turn up anyway. She drained the last of her juice before turning away from everyone and leaning on the bar. The air around her seemed to be so tense.

(Wow.. Totally sorry for my anger out burst ^^; When I'm mad enough, I go into a range... Bray should know..)
Looking through his cards as Bray called out the card. Again, he had nothing. Listening to Bry talking about her and her sister. He couldn't help but feel bad for her. "Come now, don't be so hard on yourself. There must be something your siblings can't do." He reassured her.
All Shay had were two older brothers, and a younger brother. There was no drama about being specialer, or anything. They just wailed on each other if they were ticked off. "Black seven, anyone?" He mumbled, looking amongst them.

Bry sighed as she handed the black 7 to Shay, "Yeah you're right," she said as she looked at the small hand of cards, "I guess I am too hard on myself, but it's hard being the middle child," she said with a small smile, "You live in the shadow of the eldest and you're expected to be better than the youngest," she said setting her cards down for a moment while she tried to fix her hair that seemed to be in the way, "As far as I know, the only thing I'm good at is skipping class," she looked at Bray and laughed, "Right?" she asked him.
[[angry outburst? where? I don't see it -_-]]

"Oh, Bry. You'll go nuts if you go 'round comparing yourself to your siblings. They're themselves, and you're yourself. You're different people and you can't compare things that aren't the same." He said, repeating what he told himself about his own siblings. "And being an animagus isn't that special, ya know." He frowned, thinking that his wasn't special anyway.
He laughed when Bry mentioned skipping classes. "Well, those are the funnest classes!" He said before he glanced at Shay. Bray didn't really want to his tutoree to know that he skipped a bunch of classes himself.

Bry hit Bradyn's arm in defense, "I wasn't comparing!" she said to him, in hopes that if she convinced him, she'd somehow convince herself. "Well then you haven't seen Celia's Animagus form. She turns into a freaking Beagle puppy... and whenver she happens to get into trouble, she just transforms and tilts her head to the side," Bry threw her hands up in the air, "I mean, who can compete with that?" she asked loudly.
She sighed then gave a big grin, "But I do love who I am," she said returning to her calm self. "And apparently you guys do to otherwise you'd be running away from me as if I had leperosy!" she said with a laugh.
