(RoR) Before Christmas Party

Picking up his cards, Shay smirked lightly. Now, he seemed to be enjoying the party a little. Watching as Pol pulled the hat over her smiling face, he chuckled lightly. "Alright. Who's the first victim?" He snickered, looking at everyone wildly behind his own cards. Hearing Bray's comment, he looked at Pol. "Yeah, I guess it does." He said, grinning. Looking around, he did seem to lighten up a bit, a grin now planted on his face. "You bet I am." He said to Bry, his grinning getting bigger.

(OOC: Er.. Yeah. I have to skat for about four hours. Don't have to much fun without me )

[Polaris Stormwrath]

Laughing, Polaris sat back down in her regular position while sticking her tongue out in return. "I was simply scouting my surroundings!" She tried to retort, but obviously failed in that department. "Okay..anyone have any...Salmon?" Polaris asked with a satisfied nod. Too bad she was bluffing, she honestly didn't even know how to play the game! Though, she attempted to make sure that nobody figured that out.

Bry looked at her cards in confusion, "There's salmon in the deck? Wait... what?" she asked, scratching her head. Feeling a little lost, Briar looked from Polaris, to Shay, to Bradyn then back at her cards with a dazed look. "Alright, I'm lost already," she said with a laugh.

She looked at Polaris and smiled, "Well if Bradyn would let me check out his cards, you could peek at mine, but that's not gonna happen."

"Perhaps some Swordfish..?" Polaris asked while blinking. "Erm...I'm just making this up as I go..I'm not quite sure how to play. But it had the word fish in it, so I was just naming some off.." Her voiced trailed off as she fell silent, a dumbfounded look upon her face. After a moment she burst out into laughter. "But that's okay! Peeking is allowed! Yeah?"

[Bradyn Reed]

Bradyn laughed. "How about asking for a number and a color, Pol? Like anyone got a red 6?" He could kind of tell she didn't know how to play, but it was okay because he didn't really remember how to play the game too well either. "And there's no way you can look at my cards, missy!" he laughed at Bry and leaned over to try and look at Shay's while he was distracted.

Polaris continued to laugh, she was in a jolly mood now that Bradyn, Briar and Shay decided to show up. "Okay, well. I pass!" She said while settling down and shifting around to get in to a more comfortable position. Giving a nod, she looked to Briar almost expectantly as if waiting for her to pick a colour and number.

Bry brought her cards closer to her face and fanned them out. She looked for a red 6, found it, then looked at Bradyn, "Sorry, Go Fish," she said with a goofy grin on her face, hoping he wouldn't catch her.

She looked at Pol and gave her a slight wink. She leaned over towards her "Shhh," she said to Pol. With a laugh, she sat back up and stared at Bradyn, that same goofy grin playing on her lips.

She smacked his hand, "If I can't look, you can't either," she said, catching him trying to peek at Shay's cards.

Bradyn laughed after Bry smacked him. "I thought peaking was aloud if you did it sneakily!" He said rather loudly because he was still laughing. It wasn't a very good excuse, but if they did play that way the game could become a lot more interesting. "Ugh fine.." he frowned realizing his example was taken seriously. He picked up a card and added it to his hand. Then he looked up and caught Bry winking at Pol. They were totally plotting against him, weren't they? Well, he had a plan of his own, Bray just didn't know what it was yet.

Briar sat up on her knees and shook a finger at Bradyn, "I said no such thing about peeking!" she said while trying to look at his cards at the same time.

She kept hers close to her body so no one could glance at them. She looked at Shay who seemed to me day dreaming and shrugged.

[Professor Ashton Laurent]

Ashton still playing his guitar looked up and lay aside the instrument to observe the party. It seemed that a number of people had gathered around a table to play a card game. With a sigh, Ash stood and walked over to where Maxi and Mark were still standing by the bar, wrapping his arms around Maxi's waist, he lay his head on the blond boy's shoulder and sighed. "You know, I was thinking we could go to Hogsmeade this weekend." he murmured soflty in Maxi's ear, kissing him gently on the cheek, then the neck. Smiling Ashton tightened his grip around Maxi, and circled to face him. "So, Mr. Hennerdale, would you care to dance?" he asked grinning up at Maxi.

Hiding behind his cards, and he gave suspicious looks to everyone. He grinned behind them, but quickly concealed it, pretending to still sulk. After seeing Bray from the corner of his eye attempting to sneak a peak at his cards, and Bry smacking him, he grinned again. "Yeah, no cheating." He snickered, punching him in the arm. "Alright. Any of you buggers got a black 5?" Shay asked, giving them all looks to see if they were bluffing.

Polaris feigned a pout as she tossed out a black 5 to Shay. "Already beginning to lose!" She said while giving a soft laugh. Rolling her shoulders slightly while leaning back agaisnt the back of the chair, she gave out a content sigh while her lips formed a smile.

[Bradyn Reed]

Bradyn frowned. He was going to beat Shay, he was determined to and he was already losing. "Pfft, don't let that one pair make you get over confident." He said when Shay put the cards down on the table. Maybe he should peek at someone's cards but of course that would be cheating and he didn't want to get smacked by Bry again for cheating.

When the black five lay in front of him, Shay proudly put down the other one next to it. Grinning, he snickered. "Alright. Score one for Bourke!" He said, smiling smugly. "Beats having none." He said snickering again.

[Maeve Malfoy]

Maeve had been sitting at a near table, watching and listening to everything. She had been quiet during the bad up to the good. She didn't like getting in the way. But she did like watching. It was loads better, seeing as she could know what's going on and not have to think of anything to contribute to the conversations. She was quite content with observing everyone. She liked her space.
