Erika McCallister smiled as she walked into the library. The library, and the dungeoons, these were her sanctuaries. She made her way over to a table and pulled out a chair. Sitting her black and purple bag on the chair, so no one else could take it, she went off to look for a book. She soon found one to her liking, to her surprise, it was a Muggle children's fairytale book. The book was old and thick, with gold pages, a gold binding, and the front of it had a picture of a beautiful maiden standing in an open glade in the forest, surrounded by all the forest animals. Erika's face lit up in delight when she turned to the table of contents and instantly recognized some of her favorite stories, such as Rapunzel, Sleeping Beauty, Beauty and The Beast, Snow White, Cinderella, and many other fairytale classics. Erika walked back over to her chair, put her bag on the floor, sat down, and immediately immersed herself into the fantasy world of the ever-polular fairytales.

Richard walked down the corridor that lead to the library, his heavy bag weighing hi down as he shuffled along ready to start a hard day of studying. He did not care that the sun was shinning outside and that a whole group of Ravenclaw’s were playing to take over the grassy bank by the lake and whistle at girls. Rolling his eyes simply at the thought of such cave man like behaviour Richard pushed open the library doors and breathed in deeply letting the dust filled air enter his lungs.
Walking in to the library Richard smiled at Miss Marsh as she hurried past him, he wondered past table after table, book case after book case when he spotted a Gryffindor. She seemed to be rather bizarre by the look of her. Her hair was untidy and her face heavily plastered in make up, however surprisingly Richard was not repulsed he was rather intrigued, intrigued that someone would have the courage and personality to do such a thing. Heading towards her he tried to see what book she was holding, it seemed rather grand and perhaps a sign of her good taste.
“Excuse me. Sorry for asking but what book is that?”

((hey! her face is not plastered in make up! she barely has any on! she has eyeliner on and that's about it. and her hair isn't messy. it's messy-chic. there's a difference you know! )) Erika raised her head when she heard someone enter the library, however, she decided to keep her eyes on her book until he came near. She heard his footsteps coming closer, then his voice. She looked up and smiled. "Oh, it's a book of Muggle children's fairytales." She reached out a perfectly manicured hand, "I'm Erika McCallister."((oh but i should probably mention that since she's not wearing her robes right now, she's basically wearing the same outfit as the picture in the siggy. excpet for a few differences, and they are, that the long-sleeved shirt, is a fishnet and it's burgundy red, and the leather corset around her middle is a dark purple. and she had burgundy-streaks in her hair. so... yeah... i'm gonna stop rambling now!))

(Yeah you do that Kris hahaha)
Richard looked at the book for a while and pondered why a book such as this would be in the library and why would it not have been ruined by the Slytherin’s. However as soon as these questions came into his head his brain quickly summoned the answers. The first was that such a book would be needed for muggle studies and the second is that Miss Marsh would most likely murder the person who would do such an act to a book.
It was then he heard the girls voice float over towards him along with her hand sticking out in welcome. He studied it for a brief moment wondering if there was a catch before taking hold of it and shaking it slowly with a smile on his face.
“Pleasure to met you Erika. I am Richard Leons.”
Withdrawing his hand from her tight grasp he rubbed it on the side of his trousers finding that it has suddenly become sweaty. He really did not enjoy meting new people, not that it was always a pleasure to met such extraordinary souls but he could never control his nerves. Knowing that he needed to break the silence someone how he looked around and yet again his focus fell on the book.
“So what is your favourite muggle story. I only know a few and they always made me smile.”

Erika furrowed her brow as she tapped on her bottom lip with her index finger, she also had a habit of sticking the tip of her tongue out of the corner of her mouth, something she did when she was thinking. Like now for instance. "Hmm... I don't really know if I have a favorite, I like all of them." She finally replied. She smiled at Richard. "Richard huh? That's a nice name."

Richard watched on with interest as Erika seemed to be thinking about which was her favourite. A voice in the back of his head told him what she would say and as normal he was right, after all he was a Ravenclaw. Trying not to show his smug smile as he got the answer he expected he looked back at the girl but suddenly felt his palms grow sweaty again and he diverted his gaze once more, he had not quite broke the ice yet and it was not helped by the Gryffindor announcing that he had a nice name. Nodding his head in agreement he shot a quick glance at Erika and forced a small smile to fill his face.
“It maybe nice and regal but it is rather common. If you walked into a building full of 40 year old bankers and shouted ‘Richard’ around half would answer back. Now if you did that with your name then the chances will be much slimmer because yours is different.”
Richard stopped and with a small intake of the dusty air he looked back at the Gryffindor. She was very different then everyone, she would stand out in a crowd and that was a hard thing to do in this place and everything is strange to someone who saw normal as working in an office in the Ministry spending all day doing paper work. Uneasiness suddenly filled him as he looked over at and hoped that she would not take offence by him calling her different, he felt like she would not bit he knew it would only be manors to make sure.
“And in my opinion different is good.”

Erika looked down at her book and gave a small smile as a light blush spread across her normally pale face. "Really? Thanks." she said, "But I really don't think my name is that different. I mean sure there're different ways to spell it, but all in all, it seems like a very common name to me." she looked up and smiled at Richard, "But then again that's just me." Erika streched and yawned, no doubt giving Richard a glimpse of her razor-sharp fangs. Sighing, Erika released her hair from the confines of it's bun, and the raven-black hair tumbled down her back. She pulled out a chair, "Sit with me?" she asked Richard with a smile.

As Erika talked about how her name in common Richard did her the honour to actually pay attention. If it had been anyone else he would have most likely zoned out, modesty was something that he found annoying. People either knew they were good at something or they were not. There was no half way house unless you’re the person giving out the prizes at the end of it all and want everyone to believe that they are winners.
With a small sigh his gaze wondered off to the bookshelves around them, his eyes skimmed over the titles on the spines and he calculated if he had read them and if so how long ago. It was only when he heard Ericka’s soft voice that he turned his attention back. The idea of sitting with her was tempting but so was the pile of books he had in his bag. Torn between something he knew he would enjoy and something that may be worth nothing was hard. Biting his lower lip Richard took a few steps forward and sat down in the chair opposite Erika. Unsure of what to do or what to say he tapped his figures on the table and puffed out his cheeks.
“Well this is nice.”

Erika’s strong and powerful eyes watched the Ravenclaw as he slowly walked towards the tables, almost as f he walked to his death. Leaning back on her chair the faint sound of wood creaking was heard but it did not faze her, she was as light as a feather and Erika had a feeling they purposely kept old chairs in the library to keep the authentic feeling. Folding her arms Erika could not help but smirk as she saw him tap the table and puff out his cheeks and state that this was ‘nice’.
"What's nice? Sitting with me? Or looking like a chipmunk with your cheeks puffed out like that?"
She was only teasing him and Erika was sure that this boy was smart enough to understand that. ‘Ravenclaw’s are meant to be witty. Lets see how fun he really is’ A glint filled her eye as she looked on at Richard, his hair a slight mess, his cheeks pale and his thin mouth forming a slight ‘o’ shape as his mind ticked over what had just been stated.
The same smirk filled Erika’s face, she ran her tongue absentminded over her teeth, staying a little naturally sharper. She saw it has her own little thing, her perk of being what she was. These two small teeth had so much power. The ability to pierce fresh skin and the ability to create fear in even the most bravest of people, but that also could be a curse as she had found out over the many years. Retracting her tongue back to its normal resting position on the bottom of her mouth her sharp eyes flashed back to Richard, she became more serious, leaning forward with her arms folded on the table, Erika gave him an intense look.
"So, I just have a quick question, how do you feel about vampires? Do you think they're okay? Or do you see them as the monsters that everyone portrays them as?" Her eyes flickered around the room, then came back to Richard's face, her intense gaze piercing.

Richard tried to hide from her gaze but there was no escape. It was sharp and the occasional glint that seemed to flash across them sent a shiver down her spine. There was something about Erika he could not put his figure on, she played with his mind testing his wit but yet she did it in such a way that was playful. A smile flashed across his face after the initial shock had worn off. Feeling slightly embarrassed he scratched his left cheek and gave a soft chuckle trying to work out if he really did look like a chipmunk, he knew in the back of his mind he will be standing in front of the mirror tonight puffing his checks to make sure.
Richards mind whirled trying to come up with a remark which was good enough to rival hers when he noticed that Erika seemed to have different off into her own world, by the looks of the movement under her lisp she was running her tongue along her teeth. At first he thought that maybe she had some food trapped in it form breakfast but then she asked something. A question he was not really expecting and actually put him on the back foot.
“V….Vampires.”
A part of him wanted to make sure that he heard correctly but he knew that his ears where in perfect order, he could even hear the conversation two girls were having on the table next to them about the boy she fancied but he never even looked at her. However this was not the time to eavesdrop, he had just been asked a rather random question by a girl he hardly knew but yet that little voice in the back of his mind was telling him to be careful. Richard knew that he best listen to it. Swallowing hard Richard looked over at Erika and met her glance.
“I would not know. I have never met one so the opinion that I have formed is from others experiences with them and what I have read in books, both fantasy and truth. But what I can estimate they are misunderstood creatures, not really evil but they have certain….aspects of their life style that does not erm…really fit in with everyone social circles.”
Trying to say that vampires had a very bad habit of drinking peoples blood was a difficult thing to put politely and he strangely felt under pressure. He could feel a small bead of sweat break on his forehead and roll down. It was like being in his divination exam all over again.

Smirking Erika stood up, she walked around to Richard's side of the table, she moved slowly but surely. Her steps were confident and graceful. Placing her hands flat on the table, she leaned in toward Richard, and spoke in his ear, "You've never met a vampire? Well, it looks like today's your lucky day doesn't it?" She whispered, in a soft, sultry voice. That, and her sweet, intoxicating scent that filled the air, were enough to make anyone's senses go into overload.
Still smiling, Erika perched on top of the table and gazed down at Richard, she was leaning back on her arms, and her head was slightly tilted causing her raven hair to tumble down and frame her face like a waterfall of midnight. Hmm... this boy could be fun to play with... she thought to herself. She frowned when he had still not answered. "What's wrong darling, vampire got your tongue?" Her eyes sparkled with humor as she gave a dazzling smile.

At first Richard was rather perplexed at why she had asked such a question, at first he thought maybe it was a interested of hers but now, now it seemed much different. Erika was walking over to him, well it was not really walking Rich thought that strutting would put it better. Every step she seemed to ooze with confidence as she drew closer to him. He rubbed his hands on his trousers as he felt them sweat even more, this was the closest proximity Richard had even been with a girl when Erika started to whisper in his ear, but he only paid slight attention on what she was saying. The thing that distracted him was that his senses had gone wild. His tongue tingled and he could only taste her, the powerful smell of dust in the library was overcome by her sent.
Richard was lost. His brain would not function properly and although he desperately searched for an answer to the Gryffindor’s outburst he could make nothing of it. Could it be that she, this girl was a vampire or did she know someone. The next problem that jumped at him was the mere fact of did he want to met a vampire. Although he had proclaimed that they were misunderstood creatures it meant nothing, he did not want to risk having a creature bite into his neck. He glanced nervously into the eyes of Erika and he saw them shine with eagerness. He needed to think of something to say in hope that his reputation of having a fast witted mind will not be tarnished.
“I thought vampires only went for necks. What would one want with my tongue?”
He raised his eyebrow at the Gryffindor and pushed his chair slightly away from her, folding his arms and looking determinedly at her. She could try and put on the charm and use all the seduction methods she had she would not get anyway near his neck.

Erika's musical laughter fillled the air, as Richard pushed his chair away from her. "Don't worrry, I have no intentions of going for your neck." She assured him, "And the whole tongue thing was a joke." She stared at him with a gaze that exuded confidence and playfullness, "But of course you knew that, right?" she asked with a smirk. Erika sighed, "You know, people are sadly misinformed, and undereducated about my kind. True, there are some evil vampires, but not all of us try to seduce people just to drink their blood you know. Like me for instance, I'm probably more direct about it. I'm not going to trick you into getting close to me, if I decide that I want your blood, I'll just go for it." She stared down at Richard, "Does that scare you? Or does it make you more comfortable?" she mused, quietly.

‘Ok she is a Vampire then’
Richard suddenly became even more tense then before, not only was she seemingly flirting with him (which for Richard was a very rare thing) but also she was laughing about something that in his mind was the most scariest thing that could ever happen. Looking around nervously he saw that not many others were in the Library and there no chance of shouting for help as that would label him as a cowered for ever. With a deep breath and his best attempt of a charming smile Rich looked straight at Erika.
However his nerves were not helped by the idea that she would simply leap on him and bite his neck if she wanted to. But yet the way she said reassured him slightly, the fact that she was so forward meant she was aware of what she was, well clearly she knew she was a vampire and needed to suck on other peoples blood but at least she could control it. Glancing away from her for a moment Rich need to compose himself think of a plan, which did not take long although it way not have been the most well thought out idea to be used. He would simply stay close to Erika. If she read the muggle stories then there must be some sort of connection, the idea that a handsome Prince would come along and true love would win the day. He would use that get close enough to her that she would not dare harm him.
With a wide grin Richard moved slightly closer and leaned an elbow on the table while gazing into her fiery eyes. Then in a calm and composed voice he told her what he knew she wanted to hear and also for his own personal befit get inside her mind and work out if his plan would truly succeed or not.
“Oh it scares me, I know not to mess with you but yet is also so very tempting. Is it true that vampires do not feel love?”

Erika laughed softly, "I'm tempting am I?" She slipped off the table and sat down in the chair next to Richard, she placed her hand on his shoulder and leaned in towards him, "What would you say, if I told you you were tempting me?" she murmured quietly in his ear. She pulled back, a slight frown marring her otherwise perfect features. "Now where did you hear that vampires don't feel love?" She smiled sadly, "We were once human, were we not?" she asked softly, "We still have the instincts of humans, we still feel what they feel. Happiness, sadness, anger, jealousy, fear..." She reached up to stroke a few strands of hair away from Richard's face, her hand lingering a bit longer than it needed to before she pulled back. "Love." she whispered with a smile.
