Leon had a wicker basket full of food from the great hall, he's even charmed a napkin into a red and white checked blanket to sit on, it looked just like a picnic should. The day was hot, and the sun was shining. Birds sounded like they were on fire, twittering like crazy. Leon led Jac to a spot right near the lake under a tree and lay the blanket down on the floor then plonked the basket in the middle. He took off his jacket, and hung it on a branch of the tree. He then rolled his sleeves up and gestured for Jac to sit down. "I could feed the 5,000 with the amount of food I put in here" he grinned at her.

The day was lovely, sunny and warm. Weather like this was very rare in Scotland and should be enjoyed while it could be. And that had been Leon's sentiments before they left the Library and headed to the Great Hall. A picnic had sounded like a wonderful idea to Jac, outside in the warm and sunny. A smile was plastered on Jac's face as she and her fellow Gryffindor made their way to a tree, or rather the shady spot under it. Jac preferred not sitting in the sun because she burnt easily and the sun made her lazy and tired and she was certain she had a class later in the day or some detention she had to attend or something that she couldn't miss.
Leon hung up his jacket and Jac sat down and the blanket. It had been clever of him to think about bringing one, even if it was just a napkin. They had grabbed so much food, Jac had thought they had taken too much but as her stomach rumbled Jac put her hand on her stomach and laughed. "So it should be enough for us then," Jac chuckled knowing her appetite was always big.

Leon sat down, looked at her and grinned at what she just said. He rubbed his beard in confusion. "I don't know where to start!" He said laughing. "What drink would oneself like?" he asked Jac in a posh voice acting silly. He saw her grinning and it seemed she loved being here, in truth so did Leon. He didn't like to show his emotions for someone unless he was sure, but he didn't know whether to tell Jac he liked her or not as he wasn't sure if she liked him back. He'd never been turned down before and if he was he'd be humiliated, and he didn't want to ruin their friendship. They always seemed to go in fits and starts of hanging out with each other, both Jac and himself were really popular and they always seemed to hang out with other people, but every so often they'd hang out with each other for long periods of time, then hardly see each other for months, they were both used to it and knew they were both always there for each other anyway. "So what class do you have next then? I have Quidditch practice in an hour" He said opening up the picnic basket.

Jac had stretched her legs out in front of her and she was staring out over the calm waters. The wind wasn't blowing too much so the water almost looked like a mirror for a giant. A proper giant, mind, not those silly half-giant people. Jac had always wanted to meet a giant but she knew she would have to go with her brother, Ed, persuade him to write his next Care of Magical Creatures Hand Guide on giants and force him to take her with. It wouldn't be too hard to do as Ed adored Jac but the mere thought of spending time with him and his fiancé made Jac want to hit herself with a bludger.
"Drink?" Jac said, slightly confused. She looked at Leon and then smiled. "Oh," she chuckled, "erm, pumpkin juice will be fine. Thanks." She was very distracted by the water and knew she was being rude. Shaking herself a little, Jac crossed her legs and turned to face Leon. There, she thought, better. She hadn't seen Leon in a while, being as busy as she was with all the detentions van Haestregt had her doing and the fact that she was tutoring herself in Potions. Many of her friends had fallen by the way side because Jac was very determined on getting only Os in the end of year finals.
Leon spoke of Quidditch and Jac rolled her eyes. "I've been band from Quidditch and Hogsmeade because our Ms Ministry Princess can't understand sarcasm when it's thrown in her face." Jac knew she shouldn't be laying this on Leon so she smiled and sighed. "Sorry," she said, "I ... I'm certain I have a free." Jac let out a long moaning sigh. "Which means that I'm going to be having my Potions lesson then and try to get this Ancient Runes stuff to make sense. Tough job. I'd rather be playing Quidditch."

Leon was gobsmacked. Band? From quidditch, what an outrage! "Your joking? Band?! She can't do that to you, your one of the best players. That sucks!" He said a little angrily, he was disappointed for her because Jac loved Quidditch just as much as he did. He remenisced on when they first came to Hogwarts and they both were really competitive in it, that's how they became friends. "I had no idea she had band you. I'm gonna have words with her" he said, being deadly serious. "Anyway, forget about that old rat-bag and let's enjoy this while we can" he rid his frown and put on a smile. He too looked over at the water and smiled cheekily. He looked at her with that smile, and she looked back, knewing what he was going to do. Before Jac knew it, he had pulled his shirt off, his socks and shoes and ran and cannonballed into the lake, sending water flying everywhere, and getting Jac a little wet. He surfaced a few moments later and wiped his face to get the excess water off. "Come on you, it's really nice in here!" he shouted, then looking down to see the water was crystal clear. Leon liked to be off the wall and a little crazy, it was more fun. That's another factor on why Jac and him got on so well, they both liked adventure and saw life as boring unless you lived life in the fast lane, it was worth getting into trouble for a bit of fun.

Jac laughed, she actually laughed at Leon's shock. She rocked back and let herself fall backwards. Lying on the floor, her hair doing it's own thing, Jac chuckled again. "She certainly can," Jac chuckled finding Leon's offer very sweet. "But I don't want you to fight my battles, Leo," Jac said firmly, "besides, all you'll do is get yourself punished for being tall or whatever." Jac quickly sat up, her hair hanging loosely around her face, her cheeks red with annoyance. "But honestly, the woman is psychotic. She ..."
"You're right," Jac said, smiling widely, "it's a lovely day, and the water looks very in..vi...ting." As Jac spoke, Leon began to take off his cloths. Jac frowned up at him as he began to take off his shoes and socks. "What are you doing?" Jac asked, still very confused but as soon as he made for the water Jac understood. She laughed as he cannonballed into the water and some splashed on her. When he surfaced, Jac laughed loudly and chuckled, "who's the psychotic one now?"
With a loud laugh, Jac jumped to her feet and without even thinking about it she was pulling her own shirt and skirt, shoes and socks. She looked at herself, her pale self and shrugged. She had done that much. So she ran and dove in elegantly, hardly causing a ripple. She came up much further in then Leon was. She treaded there and smiled at Leon. "Not scared of an ickle little squiddy are you?" she teased, pouting at him.

He laughed at her taking about a squid, then he pretended to be all serious and pulled a strange face. "Why? Is there one here?" he said pretending to cringe, then laughing loudly. He splashed her with water then swam away to a safe distance from her. He liked doing crazy stuff when Jac qas around, she always laughed. He liked seeing her laugh.

At Leon's face, Jac laughed and splashed water at him. She had seen the squid tackle a kid once and she was sure she had told everyone she knew, including Leon, about it. It had been the funniest thing she had seen in her young days. Swimming towards him when he swam away from her, Jac splashed him again. "You know there is," she chuckled.
She laughed and dove under the water. There was no sign of her until she came up behind him and flung herself onto his back, wrapping her arms around his neck. Leon was strong and she knew he could handle her. "Hello there," Jac said with a smile. "Fancy meeting you here." She loved swimming far distances underwater. She got better and better at it as she got older. She put her hands on his shoulders and pushed him under.

Leon looked around frantically for her, worried she was going to scare him. She jumped onto his back from nowhere. He imitated a woman screaming; "Ahh, There's a squid attacking me!" he chuckled indicating Jac was the squid. She pushed him under, quite forcefully saying how little she was, and he dragged her under too by her wrists. He looked at her and tried to stick his tongue out at her, which was harder than he though. He gagged on the water and swam up for air. He spluttered and had a little laugh afterwards. "Remind me never to do that again" he said to her. "I think I swallowed some algae" he joked. He ruffled her hair up so is was messy instead of flat and grinned at her.

Jac had managed to laughed herself silly when Leon pretended she was the squid. He was so silly! Jac, being a beater, had a lot of upper body strength and managed to push the unsuspecting Gryffindor under the water. What came next she was not expecting either. He wrapped his arms around her waist and pulled her down with her. She should have known he would do something like that but she was too busy laughing to even contemplate what his revenge might be.
Jac stuck her tongue out and managed to keep the water from coming into her mouth. Leon struggled though and half drowned himself before going up again. Jac waved her arms above her head and broke the surface slowly so it came to just below her nose. Jac nodded when he asked her to remind him and it would have been best if she had not because she would only remember once he had done it again. This was merely the way Jac's brain worked.
Jac lifted herself higher out of the water and said, tredding the water so her whole head was out, "Let's hope it was just algae." She laughed at the idea of Leon swallowing some creature that would lay eggs in his stomach that would hatch and eat their way out of him. Suddenly she frowned and said, "But I'm suer it was only ... algae." The pictures in her head were not pleasant and she wanted to distract herself. "Come on," she said, "race you to the other side." She began to swim lazily to the opposite shore on her back, looking at the sky.

Leon smirked at her as she set off without him. He dived underwater, and resurfaced about a minute later way infront of Jac. He just stayed there silent, as her head was coming towards him, he put his hand out and reached for her head to pretend it was some sort of sea creature attacking her, possibly another squid. As he felt her head in his hand he shouted a weird noise; "BBBLARGAHAHAGAHAGHRHRARGHHHH" as he quickly moved his hand around her head and face to make it seem like the creature was attacking.

Jac was waiting to hear the frantic splashes that Leon would make at trying to overtake her but she only heard one splash. Jac tilted her head up and noticed Leon was no where to be seen. She became a little worried that the squid did get him but when something grabbed her head, Jac knew.
An awful howl erupted from behind her and Jac laughed so hard her body dropped to below the water so she was vertical in the water. She let Leon hold onto her head for a moment before saying, "if you're going to give me a massage where I really need it is on my shoulders. Just here." She tapped a finger at the base of her neck to show exactly where she was needing a massage.

Leon laughed at her as she splashed a little from the squid on her head. He lowered his hands and began to rub her shoulder for her. "Your spoilt you are, i'd not do this for anyone else" he said, indicating the massage. He looked up towards the castle and realised they wouldn't have long together again. "What lesson have you got next did you say?" he asked, still rubbing her shoulders.

Jac nodded her head and smiled. With a little girlish giggle Jac said, "I know I am. But you indulge me so." She sighed and began to laugh. It was funny to think that dispite the fact that she knew it, Jac still allowed herself to use people to get what she wanted out of them. It amused her because she knew people who did the same and she more often then not was not the one who did what that person wanted. Jac supposed that she was strong of will in that way and that Leon wasn't amused her.
In the middle of a big body of water was not the best place to get a massage. You had to keep yourself afloat while enjoying the relaxing effects. This was tricky, even by Jac's standards. She kept dropping her nose into the water before she realised she had even stopped kicking. She came up after having done this numerous times and tensed up at Leon's questions (as she was thinking).
"I'm pretty sure I've got a free," she said, spinning around so she could face Leon. "Though that may mean I've got Care next. I'm pretty sure I've got Care next ... or a free. I don't really know and my things are on my bed in my room." A thoughtful expression came over Jac's face as she began to think. If she got out now, made her way to her room, she could be back here for her Care lesson. Though that would mean getting out of the water. "You've got Quidditch you said?" Jac asked, "And we don't have Quidditch together so you can't even help me there." Jac shrugged and began to lazily swim around Leon. "Why'd'you ask?"

Leon stopped massaging her, seeing it was hard for her to relax and feel afloat at the same time. "I just wondered. I'd better get out now or i'll be late for Quidditch, we have a game next week" He replied to her questioning. He began to swim slowly to the shore, they'd come quite a way out with messing around. Leon seemed a little down now, he knew it was going to probably be a while before they had fun like this with one another again, he sighed as he continued swimming.
