Dan strode into his classroom, and the candles slowly flickered alright as he walked past them. The classroom was dark and he could not remember the last time he was in here so late in the evening. But today he had agreed to give a few students some extra tuition. He did not know what they wanted to do, so he had nothing planned, nothing prepared and he had missed dinner so his stomach was growing like a dragon.
Sitting down at the front desk he sung his feet up onto the table and leaned back on his chair whistling to himself, staring at the rafters in the ceiling, before turning his attention to his drawers. Opening them up individually he rummaged around each one and eventually on the third one down he found some food.
It was a bar of finest Honeydukes chocolate which he had took of a Slytherin in his lesson the other day, and it was the perfect snack to get his blood sugar up again. Breaking off a few sugars Dan slowly chewed on it as he watched the door for the first of his students to arrive.

Naruto was walking down the hall with her pet boggart 'Ramen' in her backpack giving her directions to the class she was supposed to be going to. It would be her first class and she was not at all sure what she would be learning since she had been home schooled before. Naruto came upon the door and sighed trying to calm her already frazzled nerves.
"Are you sure this is the right one Ra?" She asked the boggart quietly.
"Of course I'm sure! Have a little more faith in my ability to gather information." He scoffed from inside the backpack only loud enough for her to hear.
"You terrify information from people, they could have been wrong themselves in their fear of you." Naruto hissed back not at all in the mood to walk into the wrong classroom.
"Just go Naru-chan! No sense in waiting about here." Ramen scolded her. She just sighed jostling her bag violently causing him to yelp and poked her head inside.

Letting the chocolate melt in his mouth Dan continued humming to himself when he thought he could hear voices. Now Dan Hubbles was not normally one to hear voice, his sister was but not him. Swallowing the bit of chocolate Dan put his chair down on all four legs and as he did a head poked around the door. With a small frown Dan ran his tongue over his teeth and stood up and walked over towards the floating head.
“Good evening. Are you Miss Greene?” Dan pulled the door open a little bit more and saw that she was standing in Hufflepuff robes and she looked the right age to be a second year, so before she could even answer he shot her a warm smile and began to summon her into the room.
“Come on then. You might as well enter the room, we will not get much done if you insist to stand in the door way.”
Dan laughed lightly to himself and headed back towards his desk, pulling out his wand from his inside pocket and this time, instead of sitting on the chair he perched on the end on the desk, picking up another section of chocolate.

Naruto was surprised by the kind smile he gave her and so entered the room. She quietly took a seat in the middle of the room close to the front but not to far from the door should she choose to flee. She sat at the first desk in the aisle closest to the door. Ramen sensing her uncertainty shook in the bag slightly to remind her that he was there to help if she needed him. She smiled a little bit assured by her childhood friends presence.
"Good evening Sir. What will we be learning?" She said her voice strong with the certainty that she defiantly did not have. She never did like meeting new people. She could never tell if they would get along.

As he watched her walk to her desk Dan shuffled back on the desk and brought his legs up to join him. Wrapping on of his arms around his knees Dan kept one hand free to either hold his wand or a section of chocolate. But his attention was drawn to the fact that her bad moved. He had seen a lot in his time at Hogwarts but a moving bag was something different, although Dan tried to shake this off and looked back at the small Hufflepuff sitting in front of him.
“Well I suppose I need to see what level you are at, what spells you can do…or you could just tell me a spell you want to learn and then we can have a bit of fun doing that.” He shot her another smile and looked down at the chocolate, the rich taste staying in his mouth and it craved more but his stomach would not take any. With a deep sigh it seemed a shame to waste it.
“Ok then first task. Summon this bar of chocolate over to you. Simple spell and if you do it you get to keep the chocolate and you win 5 points for Hufflepuff.”

Naruto smiled back rather nervously. No one had ever asked her level before, usually just told her to do something so she just nodded and concentrated.
"Accio chocolate." She commanded the bar easily flying into her hand. She frowned at the bar in distaste having always hated chocolate and put it into her bag where Ramen eagerly gulped it down and burped causing her to elbow him. She did not want her friend to get caught and have to send him away. So she just smiled at the Professor like nothing had happened.

Dan gave small round of applause as she summoned the chocolate over to her, it just proved she clearly knew the basics which is always a good start. He was curious however how she put the chocolate into her bag, he guessed she was saving it for late but then a burp sounded out. Dan looked at the rucksack with a bemused smile there was something in there and he wanted to find out what it was. But instead he was not going to demand the answer off her, he would lightly drop it into a conversation.
“Right you can do that spell then, but then anyone can. So what do you want to learn? I heard you had home school teaching for a year, do you feel week in a certain area, or did you want to review stuff. This time is really for you…I remember I had a few private lessons with my charms teacher. He saw potential in me and I remember one lesson he tried to get me to set my bag alright and told me if I did it right it would not burn the bag. The problem was I happened to have a collection of toads in there what I have collected from by the lake that morning. They were not amused when the bag caught fire…neither was my professor actually.”
Dan stopped and looked into the distance, remembering the site of toads jumping out of the flames and his professor’s face. It took the sound of someone shouting in the corridor outside woke him from his day dream.

"NO! T-that's not necessary. I have no intention of learning any fire charms. I don't want to hurt-" Naruto cut herself off. She bit her lip nervously. He was sure to know now! How was she going to weasel her way out of this one? 'Time for a subject change!' She screamed at herself in her mind. "I would like to learn a tickling charm! I mean I always somehow make mine painful." She lied through her teeth. She did not even know the spell for that spell because she thought it was a useless charm. She would do anything to keep Ramen though, so learning a useless charm would be worth it if she could keep her support.

Dan gave a soft laugh and unfolded his legs as the girl began to stutter and panic at the mere mention of her bag being set on fire. She was protecting something in there and Dan being a curious sort of man wanted to know what it was she was hiding, but then he should also respect her wishes. It was clear Miss Greene did not want Dan to know what was in the bag, and when did Dan ever argue with a Hufflepuff that was not Girty?
So with a smile he looked at Naruto as she asked about learning the tickling charm, and almost as if the spell had been cast upon him Dan started to laugh. It was a very fun spell but can be devastating. He had heard a tail that someone had once died from an extremely powerful version of the spell, the poor man was laughing so much he could not breathe. So naturally Dan was happy to teach such a spell.
“Ah well that is an interesting one…do you think you are pronouncing it properly. Stress the middle of it Rric-tu-SEM-pra. It is all in the pronunciation mainly, oh and try not to think evil thoughts when you do it, that never helps.”
Dan gave a soft laugh and stood in front of the Hufflepuff, pocketing his wand and putting his hands on his hips. Then with a small grin he looked down at Naruto and slowly spoke.
“I want you to cast the spell on me. If I laugh enough I will give you points, and if it hurts, then well we will think about that afterwards.”

Naruto eyed the man in uncertainty. 'Not think evil thoughts?'
"Pft, that's impossible for you! Malicious human, how you got into Hufflepuff I'll never understand." Ramen whispered to her so she could only hear. She elbowed him again.
"If you say so Sir. Rric-tu-SEM-pra." She pronounced as best she could pointing her wand at the professor.

Dan held his breath waiting for Naruto to fire the spell his way and as she slowly began to pronounce the spell Dan braced himself, looking straight at the tip of the wand and as soon as the sparks from the spell fly from the end and hit him square in the chest.
At first nothing happened, but after a moment or two a tingling sensation started and it spread, it becoming stronger and stronger until a small giggle escaped from Dan. The laughter became more frequent and no matter how much he tried to compose himself the laughter kept coming.
After almost a minute the sensation had dies away and Dan was catching his breath again with the last of the giggles dying down. With the back of his sleeve Dan dried his eyes and looked back towards the Hufflepuff.
“Very…” Dan had to break off as he started to giggle again. “Very good Miss Greene, 5 points to Hufflepuff! You seem to have a talent for that spell, just keep practising on un expecting passers-by and you will be a master of it!”
Dan took another deep breath and wondered over to his desk and started to rummage around in the draws again, searching for some form of liquid refreshment. He finally stumbled across a half empty bottle of something that did not look all too appetising, but he drank it anyway.
“WOW that is bitter!” Dan look at the bottle with wide eyes, before turning back to his student. “What would you like to do now…more practise on the tickling spell…anything I do not mind?”

Naruto was a bit wary of mastering the 'tickling' spell of all spells to master and looked up from her desk when Professor Hubbles addressed her.
"Ask him if there are charms for manipulating vicious animals or plants to your will!" Ramen suggested excitedly.
"Don't be stupid! There is no way he would teach us those even if I did ask. Now shut up or he'll know you're in there you idiot boggart! Do you want to be hit with the 'silly' spell again?" Naruto hissed quietly to him trying not to let the teacher overhear. Ramen shuddered.
"I hate that spell! Ask if her knows any spells that cause embarrassing diarrhea." Ramen responded quieting down. Naruto bit her lip to keep from laughing out loud.
"Ah, Sir could you possibly teach me a spell that will cause the person it hits to get ah...diarrhea? Or perhaps a spell to make things explode?" She tried so hard to be serious but shook with silent laughter anyway.

Dan looked on at the student in front of him as she started to talk again to herself or more to her rucksack. Dan had been thinking he had been hearing voices but he was sure that was just the portraits or people outside on the corridor, but now he was not so sure. His confusion only continued when she asked for a spell to cause diarrhoea which for a second year Hufflepuff did catch him off guard. With a bemused smile he scratched the back of his neck finding it hard not to laugh.
“No I do not think there is one, or if there is I luckily have not come across it. But the exploding one I might be able to help you with. However it will only work on small lifeless objects, do not think you can explode your potions professor.”
Dan gave Naruto a cheeky wink before wondering over to one of the many shelves that lined the side of the classroom. Clicking his tongue Dan tried to decide what object he was willing to be parted with and as his eyes fell upon a hideous vase he wondered who would really want to design such a thing let alone buy it. Turning back to his one person class Dan walked over and placed the vase on the table in front of the Hufflepuff.
“The spell is Reducto. Re-DUC-toh. Try it first with out your wand and then when you think you have the pronunciation fire away.”
He grinned once again and started to take a few steps back making sure he would not be in the way of any flying shards of china.

Naruto resisted the urge to laugh when the professor mentioned blowing up her potions professor. She was getting tired again but did not want to fall asleep so she took a deep breath and practiced pronouncing.
"Re-ducked-toe...no that was not it..." Naruto mumbled to herself not yet raising her wand.
"It's re-duc-toh stupid." Ramen commented from inside her bag.
"I'm not making any food for you anymore." She hissed at him.
"I'm SERIOUS! Try it." Ramen snapped back. She sighed.
"Reducto...that's it then!" Naruto said pleased and pulled out her wand and pointed it at the horribly designed vase. "Reducto!" She announced causing it to shatter in all directions.
"Too bad it won't work on living things." Ramen commented off-handed.
"I'm leaving you with Polaris next time." Naruto hissed at him. 'Honestly! Can't he shut up for like five minutes! You would think he would die if he stopped talking.' She thought furiously.
"Don't you dare." He hissed back quieting down.

Dan stood back watching as the Hufflepuff try to pronounce the spell and just like before she seemed to be talking to herself or her rucksack. Dan could not help but laugh as he was not stupid and it was clear there was something in their but he also knew better to look into a students bag, and after all she was a Hufflepuff so it would be nothing dangerous. It seemed to help her anyway and get the courage and that was always a good thing and then before he knew it the vase had been smashed into millions of pieces flying around the classroom.
With a wide smile and a small round of applause Dan walked back over to Naruto and picked up one of the larger pieces on the desk and tossed it up in the air a few times feeling rather satisfied, he really did hate that vase.
“Well done Miss Greene. 10 points for actually listening to what I said and practising the spell before the cast, it is a very rare thing that students listen to me. Also another 5 for a very successful cast.”
Dan pulled out his wand and was about to clear away to dust and fragments of vase when he thought maybe it would be a good spell for Naruto to practise after all if she was going to go and explode objects then she might as well learn how to clean up the evidence.
“Right seeing as yo made the mess you can clean it up.” He shot her a small wink to show he was joking. “The spell is Evanesco. Just make sure your aim is correct so nothing else vanishes and as always pronounce it properly ‘ev-an-ES-ko”
As an example he pointed his wand at the fragment he had in his hand and with a small flash it has gone, Dan did not know where but he half hoped it would land on a certain Ministry officials head.
