Effie peered over the shoulders of the others to peer inside the box, and managed to catch a glimpse of what seemed to be a key before her attention was abruptly turned to what was occuring around them.
Flames burst out of the dangerous platforms from nowhere, and the Ravenclaw had to jump back slightly to avoid getting a roasted arm. The wall in front of them began to shake and crumble, as if in the midst of an earthquake. Effie raised an eyebrow, 'Theres an interesting lesson.. and theres a plain dangerous lesson.' She finally said to no one in particular, an amused smile spreading across her lips.
The intensity of the heat began to increase, and light shon so brightly that Effie had to shade her eyes as she tried to peek ahead. A door had appeared amongst the rubble as the flames burned with with more feriocity with each second. Effie's smile began to disappear slightly, as the fire seemed to creep closer and closer. 'I don't know about you guys, but I don't particularly enjoy the sensation of being cooked. Try the key in the door.' She said, giving a nod towards the box.

Girty was taken by surprise when she heard yet another voice. Looking up a smile spread across her face as Effie looked on nervously at the flames. It seemed that someone from every house had managed to get there way across, maybe this is what Dan was going on about with the whole idea of team work. But as Effie suggested putting the key in the door Girty stared blankly at one to the other unable to understand why she had been unable to make the connection sooner. Scratching the side of her head Girty looked at the key sitting inside of the box and bit her lip.
Carefully she put her hand in the box, bracing herself for a curse to be set off. But nothing happened, she was able to grip the key in her hand and feel the cold metal onto her skin. Then as carefully as she put her hand in she pulled it out, surprised at how heavy it was compared to the box. Pushing her self back up onto her feet Girty then headed over towards the door that had appeared and looked at the look, frowning as she spun on the spot with the key out stretched in her hand.
“I pulled the bloody thing out the box, one of you guys can put it in the lock. Dan maybe my brother but I do not trust him.”

Jac laughed as Girty heaved herself onto the tile she was standing on. "Good save Girty," Jac chirped and smiled at her friend as they linked arms. "Let's," she grinned widely as they stepped onto the platform and raced to the bow. Jac watched Girty closely, the box closer. She looked over to the others and smiled. "We'd doing well, you guys," she called, "come on, nearly there." Turning back to Girty, Jac studied the box.
"Curious," she murmured, her brow furrowed into the slightest hint of a frown. More people joined them by the box but Jac didn't look at them, she was distracted. The tiles burst into flames and the wall began to quack and shack. Jumping up, Jac pulled out her wand and rushed as close to the inferno as she dared. "Aguamenti," she said loudly and a jet of water began to pour out of her wand. It soon dwindled and disappeared. "Hurry up, people," Jac commanded, "just put the blasted thing in the hole and be done with it. Aguamenti!" More water sprayed out, a thicker jet then before but it too dithered into steam.

As the spell for water was cast the key still had yet to be put into the door. Girty asked someone else to do if and so far no one seemed to be up to the task as Jac was busy trying to extinguish the flames Angel figured what the heck yeah she was a Slytherin and if there was possible danger it would be best to let someone else handle it but this was getting them no where. Looking at Girty she was stunned at herself for saying this but..."I'll take the key and try to open the door, just have my back incase well incase anything happens. Who in the world knows what's behind that door."

Of all people to volunteer to take on the task of putting the key into the lock Girty did not expect it to be the only Slytherin in their ranks. With a bemused smile Girty through the key in her direction and stepped aside giving her a clear path to the door. And as she had been asked Girty pulled her wand out of her sock and held it ready to strike at anything that may be behind the door. But as she waited for the next step of the stage to take place Girty looked back at Jac to see her struggling with the fire. Biting her lip Girty was torn between duties, but there was away around everything and that normally involved passing the buck onto someone else.
“Effie you help Angelique. I am going to help out Jac to get the others across. If you need us then…well I guess we will hear you scream.”
With a small chuckle Girty ran over to stand next to Jac, her wand held, her face full of concentration as a jet of water came out of the end, although like Jac’s it had very little effect on the flames.
