Professor Dan Hubbles raised his wand and with a small flick and a wide grin the illusion charm he had placed over the roof disappeared and the first stage of the course was reviled.
Before each of the teams is a thin beam which could only fit one person across at a time, try to march too many across at once the beam may snap or you may slip and it is a very long way down to the bottom. As you reach the other side you met your first task.
In this area the walls are high around you , creating almost a boxed in feeling, but in the distance you see the walls soon end and a clear view of the castle grounds can be seen and at the very end sitting on the table is a metal case glistening in the sunlight. There is something about this section of the roof which does not seem right. The tiles seem to be shimmering different colures, almost as if spells and enchantments have been cast upon them. Just before this mystic section of roof a note has been stuck on the wall, waving around in the light breeze. There is only one safe path find it and you will succeed. Learn from your mistakes and team work will be vital. The box will be your reward! What!!! Where has the picture gone? I will have to get it when I next go back home which should be in like a week or two! So if you need guidance on the grid then please look at Team 1’s!!!! Sorry! OOC: In your post show your characters thinking and interaction with others....at the end of your post tell me what space you are standing/moved onto and I (the one who is nearly always online) will mod your post to say if you are clear or not!

Sarie listened closely to rules. She new it would be some thing like this. A puzzle, that was really hard to crack. She looked at her team mates. Then she looked at the tiles again. She looked at the beams they weren't some thing she would bet her life on. She was starting to get worried.

Ashton listened to the rules, analyzing them in his mind. It seemed pretty simple, cross the beam to the tiles, make your way across the tiles, while trying to avoid running into spells and hexes, and reach the box. Yep, pretty simple. Not! Ashton looked over to Sarie, she looked a little nervous, so he figured he'd go first. Taking a deep breath, he made his way over to the narrow beam, and stepped onto the strip of wood, gingerly testing the strength, it seemed pretty strong. Ashton took a deep breath to calm his nerves, and started across the beam, thanking whatever god existed that he happened to be extremely light. After a few harrowing moments, including one second when he nearly lost his balance he reached the tiles. He stood on the Start place, and thought about what tile to step onto to. He decided to pick a random number off the top of his head. The number happened to be 6, so he stepped onto tile 6 and waited breathlessly. Hopefully he hadn't just stumbled onto a tile that had the Locomotor Mortis hex on it. Please let this tile be one that isn't going to set me back! he pleaded silently.Alas nothing but the light breeze floats around your ankles, although for some reason you get the strange smell of burning paper.

"Be careful Ash." Said Sarie. She wanted to follow him. She didn't know if the beam would hold both of them. To bad I cant use my powers we could talk mind to mind. She thought. She wasn't sure if Professor Hubbles knew she could do that but still he said you couldn't just powers. "Hey tell me when your done I'll right after." She called to her team mate.

Ashton sighed in relief when nothing happened. Although there did seem to be the smell of burning paper. Simply shrugging his shoulders, he turned to Sarie and gave her a big grin and a thumbs up. Now he needed to decide what tile to step onto next. Looking down at the tiles, he tried to figure out some plan, deciding that he would try another even numbered tile, he stepped onto tile number ten, and waited.Blinks….have I made this too easy? Nothing happens well apart from the fact that someone’s bag is catching fire even more….but that is only a side effect.

Sarie quickly took Ashton's sign and headed off after him. "Nice choice. You think evens are the way to go?" She asked. "Do you smell burned paper?"

Ashton looked back at Sarie and shrugged, "They seem to be doing good so far. Yeah, I did smell it when I stepped onto tile six. He grinned, "Good luck."

Angel wasn't happy about her team but that was fine with her. This was still a competition and she wanted to win. Beating Erys' team would be a lot of fun. Her and Joshua could probably do it too, two Slytherins were much better than one. The beam was no big deal, despite the fact that it was muggle thing Angel took gymnastics for years all this was was a high beam to her. Taking careful steps she made it across in absolutely no time at all. Right behind Sarie and Ashton who were already up to the next task. Tiled squared littered the ground and the general idea was to step from one to another without being stopped by some booby trap. Ashton had already made it past two of them Sarie didn't seem to be going for any. Angel glared at her wondering what the little girl was waiting for. Her hand involuntarily made its way to the wand in her pocket, the thought of hexing her clear in Angel's mind. That couldn't happen though they'd loose this as fast as it began and it would be her fault. Not she'd just have to work with the team. Looking at Sarie she tried to say nicely 'So I think I'm going for box 3 what about you?'Staring as she stepped on the square marked 3 she waited to see what Sarie would do now. Hoping the girl would pick something soon. Oh no not number 3!!!!....To late….and now you are burping slugs all over the place. Do not worry it will soon pass once you get off the square.

Sarie now had people behind her. She knew needed to choose a box soon. "I'll take seven." She stepped in to the box. She still could smell burning paper. She looked at the boxes she had a bad feeling about what to pick next there was a really bad idea. "Never mind I'll take six instead. " Sorry Sarie are you going for six or seven???

When Prof Hubbles said they couldn't use their special abilities and made special mention of her, Jac threw back her bright red head and laughed. She took note of who was in her group and was glad she had Girty for some company. She also noticed the very familiar Slytherin she had gone sneaking around with and she threw her arm around his neck, pulling him towards the wonky-looking make-shift bridge. 'Let's get this show on the road,' she said, playfully rubbing her knuckles to the top of his head. Another Slytherin went ahead and Jac followed her over the beam, waiting for her to get off first. Once she was on the other side, chaos met her eyes. Sarie was fretting over Ashton, who Jac sneered at when his back was turned; Ashton's bag was on fire and he didn't seem to mind; large, boil-covered slugs popped up as soon as the other Slytherin stood on a tile. Jac leapt forward and pulled her off the tile as gently as she could. The slugs disappeared. Jac laughed again and smiled at the Slytherin, 'glad they're gone.' Jac let go of the girls arm and surveyed the scene again. She rubbed her chin thoughtfully and looked to Ashton who was in the middle of somewhere and nowhere. She looked back to the others and saw Sarie making for a block. She seemed uncertain of which she was going to chose so Jac went to her and put a hand on her shoulder. 'Ashton's already tried 6, remember?' she said as gently as she could, with a hint of contempt for the ignorant girl. 'Got to chose something new, something fresh, like 4." Jac let her hand slip off Sarie's shoulder as she moved towards the centre tile. She took a deep breath as she moved, to hide her butterflies, and stepped onto the tile as though it had been any ordinary tile. There she waited to see what would happen. Number four….Oh I love this one. Devil’s Snare! ……and it is wrapping its way around your ankles…best do something about it!

Ashton looked down to see that his bag was on fire, not even blinking an eye, he merely focused on the magic inside him, and with all of his might, thought the word Augamenti in his head, with a spurt of water, the fire was gone. Not that he minded, he actually needed a new bag anyway. Focusing once more on the task, he decided to jump to tile twenty and see what would happen there.Oh platform 20 I love this one too as you see nothing happens…..apart from the platform falling through! Now bellow you is a rather long drop….I think you may need to think fast or you will be a lot flatter then before! Oh and this also means you need to start at the beginning again!

Her team mates were stepping onto tiles all over the place before Effie even had time to start thinking of any stragedy. Ashton seemed to get quite far, but hexes were soon going off in several places at once. Jac was fighting off some particularly nasty devil's snare, and Effie without hesitation raised her wand in the blink of an eye.
'Incendio!' Flames burst out near to Jac's ankles where the plant seemed to taken a particularly tight hold.
Knowing that the Gryffindor would be able to handle the plant by herself, Effie then span round to face Angelique, wand still raised. She wrinkled her nose at the far from pleasant sight, and after a moment or two of realising she knew no anti-slug-vomiting-spell, muttered the only thing she could think of. 'Finite Incantatem.'
It was time for Effie to join the class challenge. Only one safe path. 'Tile 6, then tile 10.' She told the others with a smirk, very glad that she had taken an uncharacteristic 'wait and see' approach.
The Ravenclaw stepped onto tile 6, and with having no bag to set on fire, urgently (and probably comically to others) patted her hair for sign of flame. She wasn't taking any chances.
She was just about to follow in Ashton's footsteps again, when he made a move for tile 20 and it completely disappeared with his touch. Effie's reflex was not to reach for her wand but to try and grab him. She ran through tile 10 and unknowingly straight onto tile 19...10 is clear luckily….but number 19 no...no…a selection of honking daffodils spurt out of the platform….and they are loud! You best get off the platform before they burst your eardrums!

Ashton cried out as tile twenty disappeared from underneath him. Thinking quickly, he jumped with lightning fast reflexes onto tile twenty three, and let out a shaky breath that he hadn't realized he'd been holding. He seemed to be safe. For now...

The game was harder than she though the tiles were not very nice. The one she had stepped on caused her to burp up slugs. Angel was absolutely disgusted but she couldn't do a thing about it. Her voice wasn't working long enough to make it stop. Luckily, and unbelievably one of her teammates came to her aid saying the spell that made them stop. Looking surprised she said, "thanks for that." Looking around she tried for another tile, going for even this time she jumped to number 16. What was the worse that could happen now she had just had vile slugs coming out of her mouth. Anything else would be a cake walk at this point. Jelly legs! wobble your way back to the start to life the jinx.
