Jac groaned as slimy vines wrapped around her ankles. But before they could tighten and drag her to some ungodly place they burnt and fizzed in a beam of light. Jac quickly stepped back off the tile and, wiping the goo and gunk off her ankles, looked at Effie with a large smile on her face. "Thanks," she said and drew her wand, just in case. Then Effie said that tiles 6 and 10 were safe. Jac nodded and moved onto tile six after Effie had moved onto ten.
Jac watched Ashton carefully, hoping something nasty would happen to him. Their first meeting had not been a pleasant one and Jac had not gotten over how ungrateful and pigheaded he had been. When the tile he had trod on fell through, Jac howled with laughter. In this regard she was very much like a Slytherin, enjoying others strife and short comings. She laughed long and hard and waited on block 6 to see what would happen to the two next blocks that were occupied: 19 an 23.

Ashton rolled his eyes in annoyance at Jac's immature behavior, but otherwise did not even acknowlege her. Looking around saw Sarie, and mouthed "Good luck!"

Effie swore loudly as honking daffodils began sprouting out all over the platform. Her hands flew to cover her ears, and she swiftly jumped back onto tile 10, giving out sigh of relief as the plants immediately disappeared.
She smirked, it was a bit of an unorthodox lesson but she had to hand it to the Professor, she'd probably not had so much fun in a lesson since their 4th Year DADA teacher hid in a cupboard from a boggart.
'Tile 19 and 20 are a no go.' She informed the team mates behind her. Glancing down at the tiles, she considered the remaining options. 9 to her right, 11 and 18 to her left. She moved her left foot and hovered it over the tile depicting a large number 11. 'If this one is wrong, someone else can go next.' The Ravenclaw turned her head back to her team mates with an one sided smile. 'If this one is right, someone else is still going next.'
She placed her foot down with a slight wince. It is funny you were thinking of a boggart as that is what you are now facing!!! Watch it with wonder as it turns into your worst fear hehe…enjoy!

Again another bad block. Her legs wobbled and she almost fell over several times. Taking out her wand now she said "finite incantatem" to herself and the jelly legs seemed to cease. Knowing now that she had to start at the beginning she jumped back to the front and remembering what Effie had told them she next moved to tiles 6 and 10. Well the easy part was now done what should she do now? What tile was safe? Well she couldn't know that and her guesses were horrid, maybe if she just closed her eyes and jumped. Luckily she missed Effie who was standing on tile 11, Angel had managed to land on tile 18. It was nerve racking waiting to see what would happen now. Hopefully a huge gaping hole wouldn't appear like it had done for Ashton. A correct tile! Well done now it is time to move forward once more!

Dan always took things to an extreme and by the sound of it this lesson was going to be no different. Girty had waited till everyone has walked across the beam before following, giving Dan one last look for pure bemusement. Steadily she made her way across and stood back watching the rest of the group set off the many spells. With a small grin Girty walked over and stood by Jac and continued to watch everyone have a good stab at the challenge. When Ashton almost fell to his death Girty was thankful that Effie was there to help him out but could not help but giggle with Jac.
The seemed to be making rather slow progress across the board with more wrong platforms being stepped on then correct. Maybe she should have a go and she if she could do any better as by the sound of it Effie has already had enough. Shrugging her shoulders to no one Girty hopped onto platform six and then platform ten and by using her common sense and seeing that both platform 19 and 20 were no go areas she hopped onto number 18 next to Angelique. But now which way to go?
Looking over her shoulder Girty noticed that they had done in a diagonal line so far, so this either meant it would continue like this or not. But there was something about platform 26 that almost compelled her to step on it, biting her lip Girty took a deep breath and jumped onto the platform bracing herself in case something happened to her.
Oooo a lucky guess! But where will you go from here???

Jac had stopped laughing and was now watching Angelique. She had the right block. "Six is safe," Jac called over her shoulder at the other's behind her. "Then ten. Eighteen's safe too." She waited on six, patiently for ten to become free and jumped to it. Nothing happened, as before and she stood up slowly, surveying the others. Suddenly a boggart appeared. Jac rolled her eyes and said rather loud, "this is ridicules." The boggart turned to her and started to change into the ugly, old witch that had given Jac the mean scar she had on her upper thigh. Sighing, Jac quickly raised her wand and pointed it at the creature. " Riddikulus." It suddenly changed into a short clown handing out balloons. At the sight of it Jac laughed and it disappeared in a puff of smoke. Looking around, Jac said to everyone, "come on guys, we can do this. Next for me is eighteen so all y'all need to move on a bit so I can." Jac giggled and smiled at everyone. "Don't mean to be pushy but I kinda don't want to let the other's win. That wouldn't be nice of us, would it." Jac laughed loudly and her hair flushed a bright bubblegum blue. “Or don’t!” Jac stepped onto eighteen with Angelique, holding onto her for support. “Hey there,” she said as she passed her and continued onto twenty six where Girty was. “Hey Girt,” she said, “where to, do you think? Thirty or thirty-two? It’s been very diagonal up till now but I don’t know that it will stay that way. I’ll go with thirty-two.” Jac had convinced herself and, letting go of Girty, stepped onto thirty-two waiting with baited breath for what would happen. God stop working as a team I want you to set off more traps...grrr….number 32 is safe!

Girty stood and watched as Jac started to take charge of everyone, her competitive side was really starting to come and out and Girty could not help but giggle at everyone’s stunned faces. She could not blame them for not moving forward it was a big risk and she did not trust what Dan would do, and she was his sister. When Jac joined her on the platform Girty ginned madly and clung onto the Gryffindor for added support and also to make sure that Jac was going to be safe. As they thought about the title Girty looked from one to the other and before she knew it Jac had let go of her arm and was leaping onto platform thirty two.
Wand at the ready Girty winced expecting the worst to happen, but after a few second of silence Girty opened her eyes and saw that nothing had actually happened. They were in the clear. Cheering Girty jumped over onto the tile to stand next to her fellow Quadwizard Champion and looked at her with a wide grin and placed an arm over her shoulder.
“Well Jac we have made it this far, only two more to go until we reach the other side. But which one next…as you said before it has been rather diagonal I say we go for 39, right in front. And as a Gryffindor and by far the bravest I say you go first.”
With a playful laugh Girty stood behind Jac and pushed her with as much force as possible onto platform 39. If something was going to happen on that title then at least it will be Jac who got it first instead of Girty, who was finding the whole matter rather amusing.

Both Jac and Girty were at the ready just in case something came at her. When nothing did, Jac relaxed and let her arms fall to her sides. "Phew!" Jac sighed in relief. When Girty moved to join her on the tile, Jac put an arm around Girty's middle to keep the two balanced. "Ok, guys, thirty-two's in the clear. Moving on!" Jac called behind her but did not look, she knew that no one was listening to her but she wasn't too bothers about them just yet. When Girty suggested thirty-nine, Jac's jaw dropped. "That is so weird," she said, putting her free hand on her hip, "I was thinking thirty-nine myself." Jac laughed but her laugh soon stumbled as Girty let go of her and push her onto tile number thirty-nine. It was all in good fun, Jac knew this, but she didn't like surprises that Prof Hubbles prepared, especially since so far they have been nothing but trouble. Jac stood paralysed with worry waiting for what would happen. Hum…that was slightly unfair Miss Hubbles. But never the less Miss Biggerstall stepped on platform 39 and that means that nothing has happened…only 1 more platform to go and you have compete the first stage!

Jac stood like a statue for a moment and the moment stretched on a while longer. "Hmm," Jac said, straightening and straightening her robes. "Fancy that," she said, turning around and smiling at Girty, "it's safe." She burst into hysterical laughter at how much she had been freaking out.
Jac held out a hand for Girty to take to join her on the thirty-ninth block. She turned and faced the last row. "Last row, huh Girty," Jac said looking up and down the row. "It's not going to be as simple as before, I recon. It's probably forty-five or forty-seven." Jac stretched the top of her bubblegum blue head and glazed from the one to the other.
Suddenly, Jac hiccoughed. "O!" she exclaimed, "excuse me." She giggled and smiled at Girty. "It's your turn Girty," she said, and waved a hand showing Girty had the floor. "I've got your back if anything nasty comes at you." Jac preferred being the one doing the attacking and not the one being attacked. She always took great offence to it and fought violently at times against it. So she would stand back for Girty this time, guarding the rear and her rear.

Girty took hold of Jac’s hand and hopped onto the other platform next to her laughing as she went. Listening closely to what Jac had to say Girty thought about the platforms that where in front of them, looking from one to the other Girty scratched her arm nervously trying to make sense of it all. Her train of thought was lost slightly when Jac hiccoughed so naturally Girty turned to look at her bubblegum hair coloured friend and burst into uncontrollable giggles. Even when Jac waved her on for it to be her turn Girty was still finding it hard to keep a straight face and control her laughter. But with a small cough to clear her throat and rubbing the tears of laughter from her eye Girty stood up straight and stepped to the edge of the platform.
“Jac you jump onto platform forty-five and I will go for forty-seven. If your logic is right, which would be a first, one of these will be right. Then we can get the box beat the other team and see what wondered Dan has next for us.”
Turning over her shoulder to give Jac one last grin Girty took a deep breath and jumped onto platform marked as 47. As her feet landed on the platform she braced herself, her hand hanging low towards her left sock where her wand was kept.
Such a good run of luck all the fail with one jump. I just hope you like heights as your tile has fallen through!!! [/center]

Jac waited for Girty to make her move. She looked over her shoulder and smiled at the others. They, as a team, were making good head way in this task and soon they would win. Jac could hardly wait. Soon, Girty had made a decision and Jac turned to her and smiled. They both move at the same time, that was a plan Jac could live with and liked. Girty jumped and Jac did the same onto the forty fifth tile. It was a moment before Jac straightened and looked around, waiting for something, anything to happen. She looked to Girty to see if something would happen to her. Holding her breath, Jac stood waiting for the slightest sign of who was on the correct tile. At last, the final safe title has been found…it is now so simple just step off the tile, reach out and take hold of that box….or will it???

Girty looked over at Jac and she dared to laugh. Nothing seemed to be happing to either of them. With a wide grin she was about to jump off the platform and back onto the roof when she felt it shudder under her feet. Automatically she trust her arms out sideways in a way to keep her balance, her head dropt to look down at the platform and to her horror she saw that it had started to crumble. Panicking as Girty felt her left foot slip through the platform, quickly moving it back onto a somewhat stable part she looked back over her shoulder and jumped back to the platform she had come from.
Breathing heavily Girty clutched her robes trying to work out how the hell Dan would get away with something if someone had not jumped. Still breathing heavily Girty looked back around to Jac and saw that nothing had happened, they had done it. Suddenly forgetting that her life had just been put in jeopardy she hopped over next to Jac and put her arm around her with a wide grin.
“Shall we?”
Girty found it hard not to laugh and with that she linked arms with Jac and pulled her along as they jumped off the platforms onto the other section of the roof where the box was sitting. And underneath was yet another note in Dan’s handwriting.Be careful when you open…oh and keep an eye on what’s happening behind you.

The class was harder than she anticipated, so far she had managed not to get too hurt but it seemed that others were succeeding where she was sorely failing which given her competitive nature did not sit well with her. Girty and Jac as she could now see from her vantage point were clear ahead of everyone else. Angel had given up trying to find the right boxes and had kept a close watch on the two since they seemed to be doing so well somehow they managed to get to the other end.
Angel had to refrain from screaming, a childish thing she knew but it's how she felt. Following them to the end of the platform she noticed they'd picked up a box. Trying to figure out what it was in it she knealt down next to them. Granted it wasn't a position she wanted to be in but alas it was still part of the class.
"So what have we got her ladies" she said as nicely as possible.

With shaking hands Girty took hold of the box and placed it onto the floor in front of her. Dropping to her knees Girty read the note over again and with a bemused smile she looked over her shoulder and saw nothing strange apart from a Slytherin coming over to them and kneeling beside them. To any on lookers who understood the logistics of Hogwarts and its houses would have been surprised to see a Hufflepuff, Gryffindor and Slytherin all kneeling beside each other acting as if they were friends. With a small nod of the head in acknowledgement of the other girl’s question, Girty thought she best answer it.
“We have a box and a note and if I know Dan we are going to have to open it.”
Girty took a deep breath and gave a final look at Jac before gently putting her hands on the lid of the box. It was strangely warm, like there was a small fire inside of it. Biting her lip Girty carefully pulled the lid up, winching as a golden glow escaped from it.

The light shines out of the box, but as soon as the light dies away you see in the bottom of the box a large bronze key. But it does not hold you attention for long as in front of and behind you hear a rather loud crack. The wall the left of you starts to shake, the mortar starts to crumble and the wall gives way spewing dust and rubble all over the roof. But you do not have time to pay full attention as behind you hear a cry and all the platforms that are not the safe path burst into flame.
The heat is intense and the glow is like staring straight into the sun on a summers day, so to shield your eyes you look back to the pile of rubble and it is then you see it, a door has appeared….
