Penelope looked on with a look of horror on her face, her son had told her to shut up he had looked straight at her and on his death bed told her top shut up and now she had to sit and watch as Dan and Dia openly showed there feelings of want and lust for each other. Mrs Hubbles would have most likely jumped out of her chair and rugby tackle Dia to the ground had it not been for the strong grip of Mr Hubbles on her arm. He was actually enjoying watching his son get along with someone for once, it was clear he liked her but it was a different kind of want that he was showing, Dennis could see that Dia clearly meant something, and Penelope slowly picked up on this too.
All they could do was sit and watch as Dan dropt in and out of consciousness and Dia sat at his side. Girty soon stood up and left, giving Professor Owen a rather cheeky comeback which in Dennis time would never have been allowed, but in these situations maybe it would be allowed.
The nurse returned and started to look at Dan’s bandages and sorted out a potion for him that soon was handed over to Dia, and yet again Dan and Dia looked into each others eyes and both the Hubbles saw something.
“Reminds me of when I met you.” Dennis whispered to his wife
“What one of us dazed and confused while the other falls in love, yes it does sound like us.”
“But which one of these is dazed and which is falling in love?”
The old couple laughed at there small inside joke, it should be assumed that after thirty years of marriage the couple would be on the same wave length. But the one thing that did surprise them and in some way give them a form of belief is that when Dia was looking after Dan they did not worry, they felt no need to intrude or try and take over. When she was looking after their son it felt right.
