Mike walked into his lesson, knowing it had been a while since any of these students had taken a potions class, no fault of their own. Mike had been away again one one of his jaunts, leaving the students in the lurch, it hadnt even worried him that none could pass their exams unless he was here teaching them and he didnt suppose any of them had even thought of picking up a book and studying in his absence.
He looked into the liquid on his desk, it was a muddy brown colour at the moment because no hairs had been added. He had forty vials he was going to pass around with the muddy liquid in it, though he wasnt going to allow anyone to drink it. Imagine, forty little misfits running around. "And im certainly not teaching them how to brew it"

Post by Girty Hubbles on Dec 5, 2007 16:08:44 GMT
If you asked a muggle to describe a witch they would depict some old women with a wonky nose and covered in warts. She would lean over a caldron cackling to herself as she poured in different parts of animals into a bubbling lime green liquid. Her long dark robes would billow around her and her tall pointy hat would be covering her greasy uncombed hair. And yet Girty Hubbles, a normal looking teenager was walking down the corridor as far away for this stereotype as possible. (Well her school robes were black, but in Girty’s eyes the bright yellow rimming contracted the whole black and evil look)
Pushing open the dungeon door to the classroom Girty looked around to find it was empty all but the professor. With a small laugh to herself Girty stepped into the room and tried to decide which seat she was going to take. Fulfil the Hufflepuff stereotype and sit at the front or be a grumpy seventh year and sit at the back. After much pondering she wondered over to the desk just off centre on the front row and placed her bag on the floor, pulling out her quill and parchment. There was nothing written on the board to say what they were doing, the only thing in the room that would show any hint was the vials of liquid on the front desk.
“I guess we are looking at that stuff then today professor.”
An obvious observation and clear to even the dimmest of Slytherins but still Girty hated silence and could not see why she could not have a polite conversation with her teacher until other students came in.

Sarie hurried down to Potions it was one of her favorite classes. She was ready to get in class. She walked in. To see her teacher Professor Mike Vance. She smiled at the bottles in his hands. She knew what it was. Her father had told her about the potion that could change you into some one else.
"So what are you going to with that Professor?" She asked.

Bradyn walked to potions, it was probably the class that interested him the most and one he would never skip out on. Walking in he scanned the small crowd; so far it was just Professor Vance, Girty, and Sarie.
"Morning." He said simply as he took a seat in the back and looked towards the front. After putting his stuff down and digging out a quill and his book he looked towards the front of the classroom, and found a slightly disgusting sight. The brown goop, he could only imagine to be the polyjuice potion he read about. Were they really going to use that?

Maria stepped silently into the potions classroom and looked over it. Immediately her eyes fell on Girty and she walked over to where she was. She noted that a couple of other students were in there as well. One was a small girl who she had met but couldnt remember the name of and the other, a Ravenclaw boy, who she had seen, but she didn't think she had ever spoken to him.
Without a word, Maria sat down next to Girty and started to get her supplies. When she had finished and was prepared for class, she looked up at the professor. The bottle on his desk caught her attention and she sat looking at them curiously as they waited for class to begin.

Char's nose twitched at the smell of the boiling potion as he entered the classroom. Unlike his other classes, this one required more than a wand and always made him slightly nervous. He had a habit of losing concentration or zoning out in the middle of classes, and that wasn't a good strategy for Potions.
With a tilt of his head, he stared at the goo for a moment, before grimacing and sitting at the back next to the Ravenclaw. He was just behind Sarie and he smirked, poking her between the shoulders with his quill.
The potion at the front of the room was completely unfamiliar to him, and although the girl was younger she always seemed to be in the know. "Any clue what that muck is?"

Bradyn had been leaning forward in his seat, his head resting in his hand. He watched more people come in, neither of them he really knew to well. He raised an eyebrow at the Gryffindor that sat next to him but them just shrugged it off. It didn't matter to him since he didn't know anyone else in the class yet, and Bray had seen him in the hallways a couple of times and he looked about the same age as Bray but he hadn't really spoken to him before.
Glancing back to the potion that seemed to still be the bubbling brown gook he frowned, it looked disgusting and he was sure that the smell was not pleasant. He looked back up at Sarie who seemed to know what it was too. "Looks like Polyjuice to me," He said, deciding to be more social today and join in the conversation. "but it could be anything, of course." For Bray loving potions as much as he did, he wasn't very expertized in identifying potions.

Char blinked at the potion, leaning forward in his seat and squinting to get a better look. The mess of ingredients was still bubbling on the professor's desk, but Char also caught sight of at least forty vials sitting next to it.
Turning to the Ravenclaw, he grinned. "You think so?" He'd remembered hearing something about Polyjuice Potion and certainly knew what it could do. "Do you think those vials mean we get to drink any?"

"You tard! We're probably late now because you insisted a nap would be good! I hate you some days Ra." Naruto hissed at her black single strap backpack. "Am not! It's not my fault you forgot to wake up! Besides I doubt anyone will notice us." Ramen hissed from his place inside her bag. "I hope this Professor Vance is at least as tolerant of us as Professor Hubbles was. Sarie says he's the greatest but I don't know, he is human after all." Naruto complained. "You're human too you know. Not like me, the fabulous boggart that has chosen to watch over a small human child." Ramen gloated causing Naruto to elbow him in his bag. "No, you watch over me because I offer you protection from those 'silly' spells if you will." Naruto reminded him. "So..." Ramen shot back sulking. Naruto just snickered and pushed open the classroom door and rushed over to sit next to Sarie when she spotted her. Ramen fell silent as soon as Naruto sat down because he knew he could be taken away from her if anyone found out he was a boggart living in her backpack.

Post by Edward Niven on Dec 12, 2007 19:20:23 GMT
Edward arched a brow at the Hufflepuff ahead of him as he walked down the corridor to Potions. She seemed to be speaking to herself, but he paid little attention - it wasn't as though he had no quirks himself, although he made sure he kept them away from public knowledge.
When he entered the classroom, he caught sight of the Polyjuice potion, recognizing it at once. His mood brightened slightly, until he realised no hairs had been added by the colour and figured the lesson would be less practical and more studious.
Passing the Gryffindor to sit a few rows closer to the front - potions was the only class he didn't linger in the back row for - he rolled his eyes and shook his head. "As if any professor would let you drink something as controversial as polyjuice potion." He said shortly, before sitting down.[/color][/i]

Bray grinned back at the Gryffindor. Of course the chances of them getting to drink any were slim, but it was still a fun idea. "Who knows?" Was all he would say to that, but his eyes flashed a little bit at the just-entering Slytherin. He didn't really have to crush anyones hopes like that, how typical of a Slytherin.
"Well, aren't you pleasant." He said through clenched teeth, going by his personal rule of 'if you don't have anything nice to say, don't say anything at all.' "I always enjoy crushing people down after breakfast." He frowned. Morals be damned, Slytherins are an exception. Bray was too sensitive to others feeling to leave this at just a simple 'oh well', he would fire something back even if Char wasn't going to.

Char swiveled in his seat to turn to the passing Slytherin, making a face. It was just like them to suggest they knew everything about potions. Studying the brooding character closely, he just shrugged exasperatedly, before turning back to Bradyn, enthused about the Polyjuice Potion again. "It would have been really cool," he said, noticing Bray having some sort of internal struggle.
He then raised a brow as the other shot back a few comments, but couldn't help the bright look on his face. Always pegged as bizarre, Char never had a lot of people - friends - to defend him, even if he thought he never really needed defending.
"Lets not go too far," He said with a crooked smile, not a huge fan of conflict. "To say I dream of polyjuice potion. I'm not as studious as you, Bradyn."

Naruto saw the polyjuice potion and frowned. "I should hope we don't have to drink that nasty sludge. I want to be able to keep my food down." Naruto sighed with distaste not really listening to what was going on. "I doubt it. If you had been listening to the others you would have heard that you don't have to." Ramen remarked from inside Naruto's bag. "Quiet you! How many times do I have to tell you not to eavesdrop? Do you want to get us killed?" Naruto hissed at him looking around warily to make sure no one heard her talking to her boggart friend. "Oh please! Like anyone is going to care? I'm a boggart! I doubt that if they even found out I was listening they would get past the fact I'm a dark creature." Ramen retorted rolling his unseen eyes. "Polaris managed to do it! Need I remind you that every time you are alone with her she kicks your rear?" Naruto told him in a deadpan. "We shall not talk about that woman!" Ramen hissed in finality. "Whatever." Naruto huffed grudgingly. She loved him but he was such a drama queen sometimes.

"Naruto pay attention this is important and shut up Ra you're breaking my thought process." Sarie muttered. She didn't want to miss a thing this was her favorite class. She was ready to silence Ramen if she had to. She looked up at the teacher.

'Holy hell!' Naruto thought staring at her friend with wide eyes. 'Super nerd!' Ramen accused in his mind not daring to say it aloud. Naruto turned to pay attention to the teacher and Ramen settled for a nap in the bag.
