...Maybe Jason (since he suggested it) should make a board just for the epidemic idea?
He wanted to discuss something else and we cast it off kind of rudely. Sorry!

Nicole and I brainstormed over IM too xD
ally: What if a muggle born got the muggle disease (the janitor) but then while he was at the school it changed to a wizard thing? nicole: because of all the magic like, in the school? ally: Yea the school has a lot of magical properties it would help change the disease besides the janitor doing it himself (unintenionally) nicole: and he would spread it around the school and eventually die but something.. would happen to his body so it wouldn't be found.
And for the symptoms Kris, I think we should leave that somewhat open for discussion, because there could be a lot xD
edit: The plot isn't set stone yet, so I think we should hold off on the epidemic thread until we figure out all the kinks <3

Well, true, but you have 3 pages on it and continuing. And notice how no more different ideas are being said because we've crowded the board? Or ignoring ones that are said?
And it won't mean it's set in stone... the only way that would happen is if Gail stickied it in announcements, I think.
I just feel a new thread would be more polite.

A new thread just about the epidemic? Then we can still leave this one open for other ideas.
Alright, I'll start a new one and try to get our ideas up there xD
Then we can finish sorting out the kinks and stuff
(I misunderstood you the first time you suggested it xD sorry )

I think the epidemic idea is great! I've had a quick think about this and as i'm watching the episode 'Hush' from Buffy The Vampire Slayer, they have an 'Epidemic' of lost voices. I think maybe that would be a good first symptom for the virus as the students infected would not be able to cast magic, unless of course they were skilled enough to perform it without speaking it (which I think no student is as the moment as far as i'm aware).
I also like the idea of a student finding something in the forest, maybe some sort of herb or mystical plant that is singular, and they of course bring it back, mistaking it for a herb they need for class?

Yeah, cool.
And...
Kind of like when animals migrate when threatened? (Ice Age) It would be interesting if they didn't have good intentions... Like lethifolds. Those would be fun to unleash on Hogwarts students.

Any more epidemic ideas please move to the epidemic thread (here) so we can leave this one open for new ideas (sorry for dominating this everyone). Please and Thank you! <3

well, what about my first idea of a graduation ceremony?

The problem with the ceremony is that is isn't really a plot, but just an event for seventh years. And going off of that, not everyone on the site could really do it, only a select few.
It's an interesting idea, but I think something like the Yule Ball would be more practical, because everyone could go.

We've done the ball thing though... It feels kind of 'mainstream' like you said before, doesn't it?

The ball was just an example, but I agree on the mainstream.
I would say we shouldn't do something too big though, because otherwise the event and the plot will overlap and cause a lot of confusion.
What about a tournament like the triwizard? We could have teams instead of individuals, so more people could get in on the action. Like, three people from each house or something.

I think a tournament would get too complex.
There would be so much godmoding, since to use a spell you pretty much have to godmode and it would get.. redundant. And plus, if it was only a select few, the event would just be a pride and glory moment for that character..

Yeah, it would be a glory thing. Agreed. It doesn't involve enough people.
I think that's why it never really took off the last time we tried it. Only few characters had anything to do.
I think for a miniature event/ non-plot thing (I feel you're right about it overlapping if it's anything bigger), the field trip is a good idea, still.
