Jac laughed at little Poppy. "I don't deserve such a gift, Poppy," Jac said modestly, glancing down at her fast emptying plate, "but thank you. You do look wonderful and it is just the right shade of red." Jac smiled at the small girl, tightened her features and shrugging her shoulders as though she were hugging Poppy again from her seat, then relaxed.
Elijah finally joined them, squishing between Ian and Sophie. Jac moved over so the four of them could fit on the couch and laughed when a jam doughnut fell off her plate and landed between her leg and the arm rest. Elijah made himself comfortable and Jac was pushed harder against the arm rest, the jam of the jam doughnut oozing out. Jac laughed harder.
Jac moved closer to Ian to try separate her leg from the arm rest when she had a very good idea. Jac stuck two fingers in her mouth and whistled hard. Then she quickly pulled out her wand and flicked it in the direction of the stairs to the girls dorms. It took a moment but soon enough a black ball of fluff came floating in mid-air towards Jac, it's tiny grey legs wriggling like it was running.
"I levitate him because I'm always scared he falls down the stairs in stead of runs down them. He'd really hurt himself if he did that." She set the fluffy creature down on her lap. Immediately, it jumped onto it's stubby grey legs, it's dark hid quarters shaking from side to side like an excited dog. His large pale blue eyes blinded up at Jac, his purple mohawk hair shaking along with his tiny body. Jac ran a finger down his purple spin and pursed her lips at him. "Hello Ares," she said, "look what I've got for you!" She pushed the handful of fluff towards the edge of her leg and as soon as it saw the jam doughnut it leapt for it and began to devour it.
Turning back to Elijah, Jac's eyes went as wide as her Cormuitos'. Chimeras? Really? After a moment's silence, however, Jac's face dissolved into a cheeky grin. "I hope it is," she said beaming at all the faces looking up at her, "that would be loads of fun." Jac had, of course, read her brother's book on Chimeras and if she did come up against one she would be able to handle it with one hand jinxed behind her back.
Someone else spoke, and Jac turned in her seat to see who it was. Ares got squished between her leg and the arm rest and bit Jac on the leg. She jumped onto Ian's lap and rubbed her leg, her not so empty plate clattering to the floor. She looked up to see a beautiful Japanese girl in a proudly Gryffindor kimono. "Glad to see you've got your pride on," Jac said to her. Jac stood up and picked Ares up off the couch. There was no trace of her having messed anything there. She put him on her shoulder, her crown tipping in front of her eyes again, and she patted him on the head that seemed to take up most of his body. "Good boy," she said, pushing her crown straight.
She turned back to the new comer and held out her hand. "Hiya," she said with a big smile, "Jac Biggerstall." She had not seen this girl around before and, chasing a third year off a chair showed her to it. "You new here? Not seen you around, is all." Jac was happy to shift the focus if only for a moment.

Ian laughed, putting on a face of dismay as Elijah squished between them, feeling his arms fall asleep in their uncomfortable position. "Only letting you weasel your way in since you've got drinks," he said jokingly, reaching for a butterbeer - blatantly ignoring the other four or five he had open around the room.
There was a rustle of movement, and Ian's bottle having bumped into his lip emitting a painful moan, as the sofa accommodated the weight and grew a few inches on each side. Settling down comfortably as Elijah mentioned the tournament, Ian glanced around the room. Most of the younger years were either only half awake, or too energetic while others looked too far gone to contribute much. Jac had stopped bounding around the room to take Chimeras into consideration.
With a smirk, Ian elbowed Eli. "Oh, sure. I'm willing to bet five galleons he said the first wicked beast he could think of. I bet there'll be tons more riddles though..." Ian's face contorted into something like a pout before he leaned over and flicked Sarie's head gently. "Good thing we've got loads of brains in Gryffindor." Sending a snickering fifth year a menacing glance, he added, "And yes, that includes my own, thank you very much."
Before he could as much as take another drink from his bottle, a redhead fell into his lap, leaving a trail of jam all over his robes. Letting out sandy laugh, he shifted on the sofa, "Oy, Jac! Leave the crushing for the chimeras!" He called playfully, as she bounded off once again to greet others that had surrounded them.
Shaking his head, he grimaced at the jelly on his robes before raising a brow as Jac's pet strode on its short legs over to him and began to clean him off. Facing Elijah and Soph, he gestured to it with a smirk. "The ferocious pet of our champion."

Sarie hand never been much for parties because she was told she was no fun to have around. With a sigh started to making her way to her dorm not wanting to kill the fun. She felt lonely. It was Jac's momnet and she was happy for Jac and didn't want to killl it so she just left no one would notice she was gone anyway.
So with that she headed for the stair case. It would take a few minutes to get there. With all the people around Jac. She hated being her. She would go a get a good book and read like always.

Slightly taken aback by Jac's misunderstanding - as the kimono had happened to have a lion on it by coincidence, not purpose - Akira gave a troubled nod. The noise level had risen to a nearly unbearable level in just a few seconds, but for the sake of her house she would stay. Presented the seat by Jac, the fifth year gladly took it, finding the chair much more comfortable than the floor. Fumbling for the right words, she finally settled on, "Yes.. I transferred from a school in Japan. My name is Akira Miyagi." That wasn't too difficult. Score one for the oriental chick! "I know you, Jac. You are the champion." Smiling warmly, she again placed her palms in her lap, the fan deposited back within the sleeves of her robes.
Watching the first year stand and retreat back up to the girls dorms, Akira leaned her head to one side, curious as to why she would want to leave the party when it barely even started yet. "Sarie!" She called over the din, "Why do you go?" So far, she hadn't thought Sarie to be a party-killer. But then again, she was rather confused by that statement, seeing as celebrations were not breathing things and thus could not be slain. Reaching to the floor for her glass of water, Akira drank a small sip, placing it at the side of the chair where it wouldn't get tipped over. Hopefully.

Poppy sat there eating her cookie. It was delicious. She wondered how the chef got the chocolate to stay melted. No doubt it was done by magic, but Poppy would like to know exactly how. She would like to show her grandmother that she could make wonderful cookies!
She smiled at the pretty Asian girl who walked in. She was so elegant. Poppy wished she could look like that. Poppy always thought that Asian features where the most beautiful and exotic. Poppy didn't talk to the girl however. It was almost as if she was too beautiful for Poppy to bother.
"Yeah!" Poppy said, shouting after the pretty girl. "Sarie! Where are you going!" Poppy ran over to her and gave her a hug. "Lets play a game of exploding snap!" Poppy suggested, pulling Sarie back to the party. "Is it ok if we play Jac?" Poppy asked the Champ, smiling. She didn't want Sarie to leave. She would miss out on everything!

All of sudden Sarie was pulled back to the party. "Ummm... Poppy I never played exploding snap before." She was never pull back at a party before. It was odd her cousins usually kicked her out. She was rather worried.

Ginny would admit she was a bit shocked when Jac hugged her like she did. She didn't realize they were at that point in their friendship granted they had been spending a lot of time together. Hugging her back Ginny smiled it had been a while since she had been hugged. As they broke apart Ginny wished that she had a present to give Jac since this was such a momentous occasion for her. Next Hogsmeade visit she would definitely pick her up something. Sitting down she watched Jac speak to another boy and watched as several people came up to Jac to cingratulate her. Ginny was a bit quiet she wasn't sure she was still in a partying mood.

Jac wrinkled her nose at the fifth year as she moved for the new comer. New people were always so exciting and it helped move attention from herself. She grinned at Akira and as she stood back she realised that Ares wasn't on her shoulder any more. Jac's smile vanished as she frantically turned, eyes darting around the room. For such a small creature, Ares could move far in a very short time. Her eyes fell on Ian. She smiled as Ares cleaned Ian and the place where she had been seated.
Quickly running to the couch again, Jac made a small leap onto Ian's lap again. "Oy, yourself," she giggled. Ares jumped onto Ian's leg, then onto Jac's and using his tiny front paws pawed her arm. Jac laughed and hoisted the small ball of black and purple fluff onto her shoulder. She sipped off Ian's lap, back to her seat, in time to see Poppy jump up and hug Sarie. Jac laughed and waved a dismissive hand. "Go ahead," Jac laughed, "everyone, please, do what you like." Jac enjoyed attention but this much was going to her head. She smiled around the room at all the expectant faces.
Ares began to nibble Jac's ear and Jac laughed, getting the chills up and down her spine and she swung her head to one side so all her hair fell on the small creature. Ares let out a high pitched squeak and shot a brilliant red. Jac brushed her hair and tied it loosely behind her head and Ares ran along her shoulders and jumped onto Ian's. Ares ran along his shoulders, onto Elijah's and began nibbling his ear. Jac laughed and she leaned forward to see the bright red ball nibbling Elijah's ear. When she did, she saw Ginny and giggled at her, sitting quietly.

Dean walked into the Commen Room with one of his signature smirks. He nodded to a few people on his way towards Jac to congradulate her. His smile intensified as he saw the couch rammed full of people "Hey there Jac" he laughed "COngrads! How are you?" he asked with a twinkle in his eye.

Jac was laughing at Ares nibbling on Elijah's ear when she heard her name. She turned around, still smiling, and smiled wider when she saw Dean Winchester. "Dean!" she said, both surprised and happy to see him. She squeezed her way out of the couch and walked to him, gave his a hug. She pulled away and grinned. It had been a long time since their chess game.
"I'm good," she said, "great even." She could not believe how long it had been since she had seen him. She couldn't even remember when that game was. She laughed at this thought. "Welcome to the party," she said and raised an arm, indicating the decorated room. Music was playing, people were dancing and sitting around, talking excitedly with one another. Jac went back to the couch and squeezed herself into her spot again.

Ginny caught Jac's giggle and realized how silly she had to look sitting there all serious when there was a part going on around her. She shook her head and started to laugh at herself. This wasn't usually like her to do that, but things had changed for her in the last year. Although she knew that she didn't need to let it get to her that way. So getting up she went to get some refreshments. A cup of pumpkin juice and some crackers her choice. She noticed Jack talking to some of the others but she squeezed her hiney in between them all anyway. Jac seemed to be the party girl and well now she wanted to be in the thick of things. Plus the boy who had just walked in wasn't bad to look at.

"Come on." Poppy said, pulling Sarie's hand. She gave a big smile to Jac and then pulled Sarie to a table in the corner. "It's easy. I promise." She said with a smile. Poppy took out her wand from her sleeve and waved it toward the stairs, saying "Accio Exploding Snap Cards." she beamed as she saw the deck swoosh toward her. She caught them with one hand and turned back to Sarie. "I've been working on that all week." She said beaming. "My distance is getting really really far!" She said excitedly.
"Ok," Poppy said, getting down to business, dealing the cards. "See you just do this and then this, but don't do this." Poppy explained the game quickly to Sarie, hoping she would get it quickly. Poppy wasn't especially good at the game, but she enjoyed the tension. you never knew when the card in your hand was going to explode! "See, easy, huh?" Poppy said with a smile. "Ready to play for real?"
[sorry, there's no directions for the game, so just go with it.]

Sarie nodded at Poppy. Sarie learned things fast so she was ready to play. "You know I'm going to be really bad." She muttered. "Well lets get started.

Jac watched Poppy and Sarie play for a moment longer, smiling as she remembered doing the same with Soph when they were second years. Those had been simpler times, more boring in Jac's very humble opinion and she chuckled quietly to herself. Sitting squished onto the couch with Ian, Elijah and Sophie was the closest Jac had ever felt to her three closest friends and as she turned her head towards them she noticed Ares was still nibbling on Elijah's ear.
"Ares!" Jac groaned with a little amused giggle. She stretched her arm around Ian's neck and took hold of Ares, thumbs under his fore legs. "Sorry, Eli," Jac said as she brought her arm back to her side. She put Ares on her lap and stroked his head; the black and purple Cormuitos purring like a cat. Despite the distraction, Jac noticed Dean and Ginny talking. They'd make a cute couple, Jac thought, and laughed at herself for thinking such a thing. Jac was always the first to be wowed by the unimaginable fact that people, besides her parents, could be in couples and there she was thinking about couples. She clearly needed something to drink.
Standing up, and putting Ares on the top of her head, Jac headed for the refreshments table. She had not taken a step before she looked back to the three on the couch. "Can I get any of you something?" she offered. The imagine that they would chase her back to her seat and go fetch it for her but she needed to stretch her legs and, oddly enough she felt like dancing and would do that on her way to the table and back and everywhere she went in between with a great big grin on her face.
