Dean walked without know where he was going or what he was doing, all he knew was that his feet were moving and so was he. A branch whipped around and he ducked as it tried to hit him in the face "Bloody flora and fauna" he muttered, using a saying he had heard his younger sister use during breakfast. Dean sighed and stopped moving. His eyes scanned the forest around him and he cursed loudly "Where the bloddy hell am I?" he said loudly, his voice resounding around him and amplifing.

Upon hearing the voice Athena startled. She had been lost in thought and a book for hours upon hours. She was reading her mother's favorite book, "Fear and Loathing in Las Vegas" by Hunter S Thompson. The book was so worn and Athena had read it so many times. But she felt connected to her mother through the muggle mans words, knowing her mother read the same words.
The voice provoked her out of her solitude. She decided to seek the owner of the voice out. She was close to losing the light to read anyway. Close to dusk and lost in the Forbidden Forest wasn't a place she was joyful about being. To comfort her growing unease she sang a song to herself. "Coming Undone" by a muggle band KoRn.
"Choke choke again I thought my demons were my friends Getting me in the end They're out to get me Since I was young I've tasted sorrow on my tongue And this sweet sugar gun Does not protect me
That's right Trigger between my eyes Please strike Make it quick now"
She made her way through the forest and suddenly realized that she was hopelessly lost. She called out "Hello!" Hoping that the voice she had heard was still somewhere in the forest still as lost as she was, hoping the voice that sounded neither male nor female, would guide her out of this place. No reply, she screamed at the top of her lungs "HELLO?"

Dean looked carefully into the darkness surrounding him. "Who's there?!" he bellowed, hoping that his fright didn't leak into his voice. "Who are you?" he yelled. Maybe it's a pixie, trying to trick me. he thought level-headedly, he pulled out his wand.

Athena heard the question echo through the darkness giving her a bit more of a direction to go in to find the owner of the voice. She carefully decided which reply to give, she decided to give the honest answer. "My name is Athena, a student at this school. Who and where are you?" Athena yelled into the unwaivering darkness. She stopped in her tracks figuring that if she stayed in one spot the voice would once again direct her home. She pulled out her wand and quickly said, "Lumos" the light from her wand was only enough to light up three ahead of and around her. To calm herself she sang to herself once again. This time she sang, "Silence is Golden" by Garbage. Silence is golden I have been broken Safe in my own skin So nobody wins
Won't someone listen I have been broken Safe in my own skin So nobody wins
Did you hear me speak Do you understand Did you hear my voice Did you take my hand Did you understand me
Won't someone listen? I have been broken My body's a temple But nothing is simple"
All while singing she was thinking to herself, "answer quickly please, I already got in trouble for being on the grounds past curfew..."

Dean looked around carefulkly "I'm Dean Winchester... I go to this school as well" he bellowed." Just walk towards my voice!" he yelled "I'll just keep on talking" and he did.

Athena heard the name and knew he was a member of her own house. "Hi Dean thank you." Athena began to walk to the constantly talking voice which gave her a simple way of finding her way out of this forsaken forest. Athena thought to herself "Wouldn't father be proud that I am lost and have to practically beg for help." She stopped herself for a moment, "Getting lost in thought is what hot me literally lost and got me in trouble with that Lamb guy. There will be time to get lost in thought once I find my way out of this place." Athena continued walking until she hit a clearing and saw the young man standing there. "Hi Dean, nice to put a face to a name."

Dean grinned "Well hello to you to Athena" he said. "What are you doing out here?" he asked. Though I'm sure she could ask me the same thing... my answer falls short of what's wanted... I don't know He looked around "Isn't it kind of... I dunno scary for girls out here?" he shrugged.

Athena resented the question, just because she was a girl did not mean that she was scared of being in the forbidden forest. And in no way was she going to admit to anyone that she was feeling depressed so she was hiding. "Well I often come out here to either read or just think. I lost track of the light this time. If you hadn't been lost too I would have had to spend the night seacrching for a way out of here. I am so thankful it was a member of my own house that found me not that auror Lamb." Athena looked Dean directly in the eyes and simply asked. "What are you doing out here?"

Dean laughed and gave her a wry smile "Actually I.... erm. Well I don't know what I'm doing out here." he laughed again, it echoed around them sounding like thousands of Dean's laughing simultaniously. He raised one eyebrow " An Auror, huh? Do you want to talk about it? You look a bit down-in-the-dumps"

Athena looked at Dean, she knew in his eyes he could be trusted. "Well hmm, where to start. Last week I was walking the grounds and tried to find a spot by the lake to think when I saw that auror Lamb and a colleague having a conversation. I admit I was curious, so I found a spot to listen in. In short order I was found, and stripped of my wand. According to Lamb, it was against the rules to be out walking past six. I lost track of time as I always do, nothing sinister. I only wanted to listen in to take my mind off of the going ons at my house. My father is ill, and I needed to distract myself." Athena told Dean honestly. "My father is really all I have in my life right now. My brothers have been disowned and my mother died when I was ten. I am honestly scared that I am going to lose him. I've asked around to all the professors and none of them will allow me to go home to check on him and make certain he is well." At that Athena began to cry, her attempts to stifle the tears went unrewarded as she fell to her knees sobbing. She picked herself up and began to quickly walk away from Dean. She thought to herself, "Dammit, you are a LeStrange we don't cry! We don't show open displays of emotion." Athena's pace was solid as she decided to find her own way out of the forest and away from the shame of losing control around someone.

Dean watched, his smile disappearing as Athena told her story. His heart gave a lurche as he watched her start to cry and then refuse herself the display of emotion. When he saw he twirl away he couldn't help but laugh. She turned and looked at him " No!" he objected "I wasn't laughing at you- honestly I know what it's like only to have one person in your life that you need to take care of" he admitted more than he wanted to, "My family motto- I'm a Winchester, I break faces, not promises" he walked over to her and gently set his hand on her sholder "It's okay to cry once and a while." he said softly.

"It may be easy for you but you have no clue how my family is, crying is weakness, and we are strength. I have to be strong or else my life crumbles with me. I am a LeStrange, it was bad enough that Rupert LeStrange's only daughter was sorted into Gryffindor I shudder to think what he would say if he saw me crying. I just need a moment to steel my emotions once more." Athena turned around and wiped her tears and exhaled deeply. "All better, now let's find a way out of here. It's very dangerous in here all kinds of horrible beings reside here."
Athena began to walk with her wand glowing giving them both a guiding light out of the danger. She began to sing a song "Numb" by Linkin Park "I'm tired of being what you want me to be Feeling so faithless lost under the surface Don't know what you're expecting of me Put under the pressure of walking in your shoes Caught in the undertow just caught in the undertow Every step that I take is another mistake to you Caught in the undertow just caught in the undertow"

"I understand more than you think" DEan said, but he stopped talking about it and pulled out his wand with a smile " Lumos!" he muttered and his wand lit up, allowing a little more light to be cast upon the treacherous ground. "Easy to trip and fall in here, huh?" he muttered.

"So Dean, what is your family like?" Athena questioned as she heard her feet squish on the wet ground. She looked for an answer but at the same time she really wanted to make at least one friend. She looked over at her traveling companion in silence.

Dean shrugged "Dead, mostly" he said softly anf his eyes shone with a deep pain "I watched my mum die when I was little. My dad? He might as well not even be there, he sent me away to my grandparents to be raised by them and" he paused " Really, Ariane is the only family I have left. And I know even she is slowly getting sick and tired of not only me but her life" he sighed "At one point they all leave" he looked over at Athena "You know something, that's the first person I've ever told that to?" he laughed bitterly "But then again, another Winchester saying 'If you've got emotions, hide them'."
How cruel is the golden rule? When the lives we lived are only golden-plated And I knew that the lights of the city were too heavy for me Though I carried karats for everyone to see
And I saw God cry in the reflection of my enemies And all the lovers with no time for me And all of the mothers raise their babies To stay away from me
Tongues on the sockets of electric dreams Where the sewage of youth drown the spark of my teens And I knew that the lights of the city were too heavy for me (too heavy for me) Though I carried karats for everyone to see (everyone to see)
And I saw God cry in the reflection of my enemies And all the lovers with no time for me And all of the mothers raise their babies To stay away from me
And pray they don't grow up to be...
Dean sang in a low, melodious voice.
