(G.Hall) Alone

Derek sat at the Ravenclaw table in the Great Hall for breakfast. Nobody else sat by him. "Accio Milk jug!" chanted Derek. From one end of the table, the milk jug flew through the air into Derek's hands. He wasn't alone, he had magic.

Acelin sat herself across from a boy a little older then her it seemed who had just called for a jug of milk. She watched it fly to him and she smiled happily. "I've always love bein' able to do that," she said, and giggled when the jug finally reached him. She smoothed her skirt and looked around at the food available. Egg, bacon, sausages, porridge, cereals of all sorts, toast, and the odd jug or three.

The bacon looked very good this morning. She smiled again at the boy and pulled out her own wand. "Accio bacon," she said, and watched with a satisfied smile on her face as bacon bits flew towards her. They came at a surprisingly high speed and Ace quickly picked up her plate and shielded her face. Four pieces of bacon slammed into the plate and stuck. She lowered the plate and looked at the bacon. "Hmph," she said, satisfied with the spell. "Good mornin' by the way," she said, her Irish accent thick.

Violet entered the Great Hall and walked down her table. It seem like everyone was crowded on one corner of the table. there were a few people sitting where there was more room. She decided to take a seat over there and join the other two Ravenclaw. As she got closer to the two, she saw food flying from their spot to the person who cast the charm. She was only in her fourth year and hasn't learned the charm just yet. But, she was expecting to learn it this term, hopefully.

"That's pretty cool," she commented as she took a seat across from them. "I can't wait 'til I can do the summoning charm. Then, I don't have to get up to get my book across the room."

Acelin looked at the blond Ravenclaw who had just joined them and began laughing. She waved a hand and said, "it's really easy acually. I got it right in me first year. O' course I was always skipping ahead." She laughed and grinned at the new comer. "Acelin McKnight," she said, holding out her hand.

Violet smiled back and shook Acelin's hand. "I'm Violet Bellany," she replied. "So, I'm guessing you're really smart." She almost said that as part of a compliment and as part of an awe. She absolutely wanted to learn everything and anything she can about magic. Maybe she might be able to pick up a few tips or two from this girl.

Acelin grinned at the girl, happy someone was talking to her. She flicked her hair over her shoulder and saw the girl was about to talk. Ace listened and her face fell, smile gone to be replaced with a frown, her mouth a little open. "Beg pardon," she said in her most beautiful Irish accent.

"That's a very odd thing ta ask a Ravenclaw," she said, "we're meant to be the brightest in the school but as with every rule you find an exception. I am kinda smart, I guess, but I wouldn't say I'm the smartest because I by no means, know everything. That's impossible." She shovelled some scramble egg onto her fork and stuck it into her mouth. "Why d'you ask?" she asked, after swallowing.

[Alexis Heart]

Alexis had gone down to the Great Hall because as usual she was just hungry. Her mother always wondered how someone so thin could eat so much and not gain weight. Alexis wondered the same but never looked a gift horse in the mouth, she did try to exercise all the time though to make up for it. Anyway making her way to the Ravenclaw table she noticed Acelin and some others she wasn't too familiar with. Going over she said, 'Hey there Ace what's going on?'

Taking a seat near the group she grabbed a lot of food and piled it on a plate happy when the bottom could no longer be seen she pulled the dish in front of her. Now she knew this was going to cause her an extra hour workout later that night. Lifting her head before beginning on her feast she decided to introduce herself to the others. 'Hi there I'm Alexis,' smiling she waitied for the other two to respond before she started to eat.

When Alexis came out of nowhere and sat next to her, Ace let out an embarrassing squeek jumped a little. She stared at Alexis for a moment, eye's wide, but her surprised expression quickly melted away into a grin. "Hiya," Ace said, leaning her elbows on the table. "Nothing has been happening, really," she said, thoughtfully, "Slytherins aren't giving me problems any more." She laughed and knew Lex would remember her story of the nasty Slytherin theif.

Ace stared in wonder as Alexis's pile of food grew and grew and grew. Acelin laughed and clapped a hand to her mouth. She lowered her hand and smiled, open mouthed, at Alexis. "Where d'you hid all that food?" she asked, half curious, half amazed. Alexis was a skinny girl and from all the food she had piled, Ace was sure she'd be sick before she got through her third plate of eggs.

Alexis put her fork down and started laughing at Acelin. 'You're not the first person to say something about my eating habits. I will admit I do love food but I also work out a lot too. Usually in the morning I jog around the lake for about half and hour maybe more depending on the weather. I do it at night too before bed. I guess it tends to make me hungrier than normal,' she said not the least bit embarrassed. 'Plus this food is just so good. My mom's a rotten cook I'm always happy to come back to school the food is actually edible.' Looking around the hall she noticed some people she knew and waved then turned her attention back to her own table. Moving closer to Acelin she whispered, 'Why is everyone else being so quiet?'

Acelin looked Alexis up and down. "The exercise really works for you, huh?" she asked. "I've tried to exercise but I never did get the hang of it." She took another bit of her bacon and swallowed. She looked over at Alexis and she had an idea. If Alexis could manage it then Acelin would try it too. "Hey, Lex," she said sipping her pumpkin juice, "would you mind if I joined you on those morning jogs? I could also use a little exercise." Ace grinned at Alexis and patted her stomach.

'Oh man that would be awesome I always wanted someone to job with I get lonely out there and stuff. But I do take it seriously I love to work out which is why I eat like a pig,' she laughed. Taking a bite of her bacon she was smiling thinking it would be fun to have someone else with her. 'How about we start tonight after dinner we could take it slow since you're just beginning but a light jog around the lake would be great plus you'll sleep like a baby afterwards.' Sometimes that was the added bonus for her the air outside almost soothed her and when she came back in the common room she would relax and when it was time for bed she'd knock out instantly and have the best sleep ever.

Now Violet felt embarrassed with what had slip out of her mouth. "Uh, no, that's not what I meant," she kind of mumbled the words near the end. She took a bit of her potato, trying to fill in the awkward silence. But, there was really no need since someone else had joined them. This was one of Violet's problem. She was never really good at talking to people. Sometimes, in fact, she blurt things that really didn't make sense. It made sense at the time...in her head. But, when she speaks those words, they somehow become jumbled or mixed up, or they lose the meaning.

Violet looked up and gave a small smile to the girl who had just joined them at the Ravenclaw table. She continued to eat, and thought it woudl be better if she didn't say anything else for the rest of the night.

Acelin clapped her hands and bounced on her seat with excitement. "It's going te be so much fun," she said, her Irish accent thicker then usual. She grinned at Alexis and then to the other girl who had gone quiet. She took another mouthful of bacon and swallowed. She was surprised she didn't choke with all the excitement she felt.

"So shall we then meet in the common room after supper?" Ace couldn't wait. She wanted to go now! She felt like a petulant little girl who's older siblings weren't giving her what she wanted fast enough. Naturally, she knew exactly how that felt, having three older brothers. It was great having them as her brothers but they would often gang up against her: the only thing they ever did together. Ace had little patience as it was.

Alexis glanced over at the other girl who had fallen silent wondering why. It wasn't as if her or Acelin bit. She smiled at her hoping that by seeing she was friendly it might make her open up. Acelin on the other hand was already a ball of energy she seemed to be really excited about working out and that was a great sign. A lot of people said that they wanted to work out but weren't really committed to it, that's why they were usually the ones who worked out once or twice and gave up. No Acelin was showing real enthusiasm and that was important. Grinning Alexis said, 'Heck if you wanted to we could start right now, but yeah after supper works for me. You have work out gear right? Don't want to ruin clothes you enjoy wearing cause we will be working hard.' She winked at her friend, but she was dead serious about what she just said, she worked herself hard and would probably do the same to Acelin. Taking another bite of food she thought about how cool it would be to have a someone else with her.
