Diana walked to the Lake, her hands crossed and around her upper waist. She had managed to get out of the Common Room unseen and she had almost ran to the Lake. She needed to be away from the world. All the stress was driving her mad and if she didn't get away she might have exploded.
As she reached the Lake she leaned against a tree and sank down. She couldn't imagine if anyone would ever be able to understand but she really didn't care. She had too many emotions in her to care. Diana's hand ran lightly through her hair while the other lightly covered her eyes.

Russell enjoyed the stillness of the lake. The common room was always filled with swooning and otherwise annoying girls or even worse, girls that despised him. He had to get away and the lake was it. He strolled towards the lake, taking in the warm sunshine, and noticed a slytherin sitting by a tree.
As he strolled passed, he studied her face. She looked sad, contemplative, or was that just his own mind playing trick with him? She brushed her hear out of her face and Russell could see that it was not just his imagination, she did look distracted. But he couldn't take any more of her in because by now he had walked passed her and was heading off but instead he turned around and walked towards her.
He stood over her for a moment, then went down on his haunches. "Hey there!" he said smoothly, smiling charmingly, "you ... if you don't mind me saying, are too beautiful to be looking so distraught."

Diana looked up as the boy spoke to her. "Distraught," she repeated lightly as her blue eyes met his. "If you knew what I knew then you would be making the same face," she said lightly. She had seen this boy before and couldn't put her finger on it. He seemed to be around her age and it surprised her that she hadn't met him before. "And thank you for the compliment; however, how can someone like yourself not be surrounded with girls," she said turning her head so she was facing him and gave him a light playful smile.

He smiled charmingly back at her as she did him and he sat down, crossing his legs, to join her. "Well, that's a long boring story that involves me ending up at the lake in stead of my common room," she said, studying the curves of her face and the gleam in her eyes. He could not deny that there were girls who would chase him but he thought better of saying it.
"But I'm not important," he said, cupping his hands around hers, "you clearly have something on your mind. Don't you have a boyfriend to cheer you up? A bbf to giggle away those blues? Why are you out here all by yourself when you could be with those who would be too stupid to not adore you?" As he spoke, he looked into her beautiful blue eyes, keeping that connection alive while she would still talk to him.

Diana smiled as he spoke. However, as he went on she found herself giggling at the thought of him being lost. "Oh dear," she said lightly as he spoke. "Well being lost can be quite entertaining," she said lightly.
"A boyfriend," she spoke lightly. "Actually no.. and my best friends can literally kiss my.. well you know and I'm afraid I wanted to be away from people who google at me," she spoke lightly. "I mean.. I just have a lot on my mind," she spoke lightly and looked up at him. "However, the more I talk to you the better I feel," she said lightly. She could tell that he wanted to keep eye contact so her eyes didn't part from his.

Russell smiled as she mentioned she had no boyfriend but that soon went when he thought about what she had said. "Guys cannot be trusted," he said, sternly, "I still can't understand why ladies still do." He knew what guys were like, being one and couldn't get his mind around how jerks could still get every girl in the castle.
He smiled at her again when she said that talking with him made her feel better. He gave her back her hands and nodded, "that's a good thing," he said, "for the both of us." He too had a lot on his mind but knew that girls needed to talk about their problems. "Do you want to talk about ... what's on your mind? Coz if you do I'm sure I can find someone you can talk to." He laughed jokingly, then, by one quick look at her, he cleared his throat and gave her a helpless smile. "I mean, I'd be happy to beat up any guy who has hurt you."

Diana giggled and nodded. "Ha.. some ladies do; however, I find myself lacking the ability to give trust to most people in general," she said smiling. "However, you are very sweet," she said lightly.
"And how would me talking to you be a good thing for the both of us," she asked. She knew her side but how would it be good for him. "Haha very funny," she said smacking him lightly. "No.. I'm fine just some family stuff and stress... you know," she said lightly. "Aww you're sweet dear, but I'm afraid that there are no guys to beat up..." she turned her head so that they were looking at each other directly. "Just yet anyways," she smiled and gave a playful wink.

Russell was almost disappointed that there would be no barbaric muggle hand to hand. He did so enjoy it. His brothers would always try take him down but they had not succeeded yet. He looked at her while she spoke and enjoyed the way her mouth moved while she did. He smiled to himself.
Sweet? he thought, sweet? Oh boy! He liked that she wasn't like the other girls, who told their sob stories to every Tom, Dick and Harry. But good for them both he had said, so he explained, "you're not the only one with a lot on your mind." He shrugged and stretched his legs out parallel to hers. He leaned back on his arms and looked over the lake. "Family does seem to get everyone down," he added absently.

Diana noticed that he was smiling at her. She began to smile just because he was smiling, it was somewhat contagious for her. "What makes you smile so," she asked him.
"Oh.." she said raising an eyebrow. "And would you like to talk about your problems dear," she said placing her hand on his arm and looking up at him playfully. "Yes, but we manage," she said lightly. She had been stressed about that but she knew her family all too well and so she wasn't going to let it bother her too much.
Diana noticed that she didn't really know his name. "Diana Fortuna, by the way," she said lightly. However, her last name was not to be taken lightly. It was one of the darkest last names known by wizards and infamous for trouble and demonic things.

Rus shot her a crooked smile as she teased him and shook his head at her question. Family! he sighed. "Indeed, can't do much else, can we?" He laughed slightly, knowing it was just a passing phase that would be a favourite story over the Christmas table.
But then again, his brothers more then likely wouldn't forget this one either, they were still bugging him about him taking their birthday presents when they turned five. He smiled at her again, both because of her thought and her beautiful name. "It's a pleasure to meet you, Diana," he said, "I'm Russell Parkhurst, Rus if you like."

Diana shook her head in response. "Unfortunately," she hissed lightly and then looked out on the lake. It was truly a gorgeous day and every once in a while she could spot a merperson's head pop out of the water.
"As it is a pleasure to meet you Rus," she said lightly. Diana's eyes scanned over the scenery. It was in all rather pleasant and it was the relaxation that she needed.

Russell nodded and watched her as she looked over the lake. He was enjoying the scenery too and couldn't help but smile. Her face was strong and confident, and quickly looked to the lake as she looked his way. "It's a beautiful day," he said finally, after a moment's silence.
Family ... It rolled around in his head and range like he had hit his head on a frying pan. "Do you have any siblings?" he asked, curious, and his were on his mind so he chose that as the new course of the conversation. He always spoke of what was on his mind and he had found it logical, he always followed his gut.

Diana laughed lightly having a feeling that he was not really only smiling about the scenery. She was now looking at him, "Really now?" Her eyes seemed to glitter in the light with a flirty tension that she always brought to the conversation.
"Yes... seven others," she said lightly. "But most of them live with my parents and have chosen to go to Durmstrang or Beauxbatons," she said lightly. She rather enjoyed them but if she spent too much time with them, she would be driven mad. "I do have a cousin her though," she said lightly. "Tim Haunting.. do you know him?" she asked curiously.
Then turning her eyes to the water, she smiled. "And yourself?" she asked.

Russell smiled back her, "really is." He got the sneaky suspicion that she suspected him and he didn't mind. He was always open about whether or not he thought someone was beautiful and was happier if they knew. She must know, he thought, laughing inside.
"Seven," she said slowly, "a nice round number but no, I can't say I've had the pleasure of meeting him." She looked back over the lake and in answer to her question, replied, "three. Twins and Laura. She's first year next year and the other two are now third year. Slytherins. Quite a shock to my mother, but Father always though they would be."
He sat forward, rubbing his hands together and leaning on his knees. "Family is important," he said absently, now looking at her over his shoulder, "but sometimes I just wish I could get away from them. Father works for the ministry so he's been around a lot lately and the twins can't go two days without visiting the Head Master." He shrugged, "got any advice about getting away?"

Diana looked at him with her big blue eyes. "Oh really," she said slowly with an eyebrow raised. "Fine..." she said sticking out her tongue playfully.
She giggled when he talked about her family. "Yes seven," she mimicked him playfully. "Yeah it makes sense.. Tim really only associates himself with Slytherin guys... and which ever girls he finds gorgeous no matter the house," she smirked lightly. Her cousin was something else, but he was fun to be around and he cared for him dearly. "Slytherins?" she said curiously. "Haha... don't make us look so bad.." she winked at him lightly and gave one of her infamous flirty smiles.
"Well snogging always works," she giggled playfully. "When my younger siblings bothered me and I was around someone I was with... well snogging always grossed them out.." she giggled. "But if you don't have that luxury then... go to the requirements room... it can always spare you some time and you get to do whatever you wish," she spoke with a smile. She generally fancied that room the best. It was cool how whatever you wished it would become.
