Aly laughed. "Well, I'm not your typical Slytherin. I don't believe in judging a person by their House. And Rakki doesn't either. That and plus the fact that she's chicken!" She glanced over at Rakki as she said this and smirked playfully.

Parker furrowed his eyebrows, not entirely sure what she'd meant when she'd said her sister was a chicken. The thought that kept flying it's way to the front of his mind was that her sister had wings and was commonly slaughtered for food. He didn't think this was right, but it could be for all he knew. Magic is magic after all, he thought. "Well... that's um... nice," he said finally. He really didn't know what to say. Slytherins not being Slytherins. What is the world coming to? he thought a little annoyed. But there was nothing he could do. So rather than confront them about perhaps having been sorted into the wrong house he just started smiling again. Maybe they're just putting on a show," he thought, his mind now in turmoil. He turned to Adriana, his eyes trying to ask her what was going on. He hadn't known until Aly had introduced herself and her sister that they'd been in Slytherin.

Aly chuckled. "When I say chicken, I mean she's a scaredy-cat. And, there's no rule that says that a Slytherin has to act a certain way you know. Who cares if I'm friendly? That's just who I am..."

Parker was now very confused. Had he thought out loud? He hadn't thought so, but suddenly the girl had answered the question he'd only been thinking about. It was very strange to him. He shrugged it off. "I guess so," he said, scratching the back of his head, "But I thought the Sorting Hat put people in different houses based on their personalities and what not. Surely yeh'd do better in a different house? Or are yeh one of those Slytherin brats whose father and father's father was a Slytherin?"

Aly raised her eyebrow and smiled wryly. "I'm not a brat, and I'm a Slytherin because excluding killing and/or torturing, I'm willing to do pretty much anything to get my way."

"A true Slytherin would kill and torture from what I've heard," Parker replied curtly. "But I'll stop pestering yeh. It's your own cross to bear, as they say." He shrugged his shoulders again and stuffed his hands into his pockets. He didn't feel much like having this conversation anymore. It wasn't going to get anyone anywhere except for into a load of trouble once an actual fight started up. "I supposed I should get back to work," he said after a long pause. He strode back to the table from which he came and grabbed up another book he had lying there, keeping a wary eye on the three girls.

Aly stared after him, and then deciding to follow him said to the others, "I'll be back." she walked up and pulled out the chair beside him. "And what makes you think that you know how a 'true' Slytherin acts? Hmm? Are you speaking from experience, or are you as I suspect, just hoping on the 'All Slytherins are the same' bandwagon? Cause if you are, that's not a very good way to make friends you know." Aly paused to let these word sink in, then continued. "It is a very good way to make some enemies though. Just a warning..."

Parker watched as Aly walked straight for him and as she spoke he smiled warmly. "Well, thank yeh fer the warning, but I don't fink I need it," he said, his smile turning into a smug smirk. "Yeh already told me yeh wouldn't be doing any torturing or killing. And I fink I can pretty much handle anyfing else. Besides the bandwagon yeh were speaking of isn't a bandwagon. It's a genuine fact. Everyone knows that every wizard and witch that ever went bad was in yer house. I'm a muggle and I know that. It's no big secret. Now please, I've got work to do." He smiled once more at her before turning his gaze down at the book in front of him

Aly however, refused to leave. "Well maybe and Rakki and I are the exception? Just because every other witch or wizard in Slytherin went bad, doesn't mean we have to, does it?"

Andie was sitting at a table close by and happened to hear this little discussion. Abandoning her reading, she went to stop any trouble before it started. "We're not having any problems over here, are we?" she asked in her best 'Prefect' voice.

"I'm only trying to say that yeh act like you're in an entirely different house than the one you're actually in," Parker said after a sigh, not even bothering to look up from his book. "It's just a matter of opinion, yeh know. Yeh gotta be a little mean to be a Slytherin or else yeh are just not a very good one. What ever happened to cunning and sly?" he asked. "Are yeh at least those?" He turned the page. He wasn't actually reading; he was more just staring at the pages and not at Aly. "And no, no we're not," he said as someone else arrived. He didn't know who it was and wasn't going to look up unless he figured it was actually worth it to.

"Oh, for the love of--" Rakki shook her head and walked over to her sister and the boy. "Stop harassing him already, we're all entitled to pur opinions." Getting a firm grip on her sister's arm, Rakki then turned to the boy. "I'm sorry about all of this, please don't mind her." With a final glare to her sister, Rakki dragged her back over to the book cases. "Can you PLEASE stop running arount attempting to instigate fights?" Rakki hissed through her teeth at her sister. "One day your actions are going to get us hurt."

Aly yanked her arm out of Rakki's grasp. "Rakki!" she snapped, "I am not in the mood today. Don't mess with me!" She turned to Parker, "And yes, I am sly and cunning. See ya later." She turned back to Rakki, "I was not picking fights, I was simply trying to explain that not all Slytherins are the same! What the hell is wrong with that!?" she hissed angrily in a low voice that only Rakki could hear.
((uh oh, i think aly and rakki are about to have their first fight. yikes!))

Parker was tired of all the arguing so he picked up the remaining few books he had and dropped them into his book bag. Taking a slow deep breath, he pulled himself back onto his feet and tossed his bag over his shoulder. This just wasn't what he was looking for in friends or in enemies... maybe in enemies. Arguing was fun at times, but it got annoying after a while. He felt a bit bad for getting the little sister in trouble, but he'd deal with it somehow. As he walked out of the library, he whispered something into Adriana's ear so that the others couldn't hear and mouthed 'Sorry' at Aly's little sister. Then he was gone.

Rakki caught the apology and mentally smiled. On the outside, however, she was still seething. "Well the way you were acting suggested otherwise." She snapped back, still in a hushed tone. "And I don't care if you're not in the mood; I'm not in the mood to deal with your pugnaciousness today. If you left people and their opinions alone, we'd all get along just fine."
