It had been a quiet day to start off with, so Brianna's drowsy state had only increased her sense of sleepiness. Getting up from her dressing table Bree decided that what she needed was a good strong cup of coffee and a decently sized breakfast.
She entered the Great Hall by the side door behind the Staff Table and seated herself near that end. A beautiful array of foods had already been laid for the staffs pleasure and this spectacle made her smile. She pulled her chair in a little more so she could be that little bit closer to the table. Smiling at the students and staff already present, Bree reached for the coffee pot and poured herself a strong cup.
Brianna sipped it slowly, savoring its taste, before setting the cup down and dishing herself some food. Not hesitating or waiting for anyone else, she, in a very lady-like manner, began to eat. She sighed, pleased, and, after swallowing, took another sip of her coffee. She sat back in her high backed chair and watched the Hall fill up, however slowly it did. It was a cold day and she imagined that many would still be in bed.

Dia entered the Great Hall through the side door behind the Staff Table and sat down next to Bree. "Good morning," she said cheerfully. She pulled her trench coat closer to her body and shook her cold body. This particular morning was rather chilly and the perfect opportunity to wear her new coat. It was a lovely blue with dark lining and Dia had wanted the chance to wear it for a long time now.
She saw the pot of coffee near Bree and pulled her nose at it. "How can you drink that awful stuff?" she asked, reaching for the pot of tea. "It's dreadfully bitter, I don't see how you can." Dia sipped her tea and looked at Bree, smiling, she's always smiling! Seeing porridge nearby Dia dished herself a small bit of porridge added honey and began to nibble. She didn't have much of an apatite this morning.

Bree smiled and nodded to Dia as she joined her. "And a Good Morning to you too!" she smiled happily. She sipped her coffee, savouring the taste as it warmed her. Dia seemed rather obverse to her dislike of coffee. Bree smiled at her and said, "like this." She lifted the mug to her lips and took a sip. "See," she said, smiling playfully, "that's how." She giggled lightly.
She set her cup down on the table and picked up her cutlery. She sliced the toast she had buttered and jammed and ate it. She chewed hurriedly, as tough some one might steel the bit right out of her mouth, but smiled as she did. "How can you eat that?" she asked playfully, "it's terribly bland!" Bree giggled again and added, "I'm just playing with you. Did you sleep well?" She cut another bit and turned to look at Dia as she chewed.

Alex walked seeing two teachers at the staff table, he didn't know either because he was to busy to stop and introduce himself to them. Today he would because he had nothing better to do. The walk over the table felt like forever, he never really liked introducing himself to people his age older, they were more judging. When he reached the table he had nothing to say so he ended up just acting like he was thinking.

Bree seemed to be in a good sporting mood this morning, Dia decided when Bree teased her about asking such a silly question. Indeed it was only afterwards that Dia felt foolish for having asked such an impertinent question but she had done it already so she happily laughed with Bree and sipped her tea.
Dia saw out of the corner of her eye a man, a new teacher, she guessed, sit near to them. Dia nudged Bree with her elbow and inclined her head towards the new comer. "Invite him over," Dia whispered to Bree out of the corner of her mouth. Bree was always a lot better at dealing with new people then she was and she knew she would not mind doing it.

Bree smiled as she sipped her 'degusting' coffee, still laughing at Dia. Then she nudged her for some or other reason. Frowning slightly, Bree leaned over to Dia and whispered, "what?" Dia nodded towards a shy looking youngster sitting a way off and Bree nodded, smiling.
Bree put her mug down and leaned forwards, practically lying on the table top to look past Dia. "Good Morning," she said merrily, "you care to join us?" she asked, indicating the chair directly next to Dia. "We'd love for you to join us." She added a beaming smile and she flicked her hair out of her eyes.

"Sure," he said getting up and sitting in the chair next to the other teacher. "I'm Alex by the way," he said smiling as he said it. He was glad they invited him over, they seemed like two nice people, and hopefully they were. He then grabbing the pot of tea and pouring himself some. He then put the pot where it was and tried the tea, which tasted good.

Bree grinned proudly as Alex joined them. "Grand to meet you Alex," Bree said, "I'm Bree, Brianna O'Donnell, and this is Dia Owen." Bree indicated each as she introduced them with an up turned hand at each.
He went for the tea and Bree looked at Dia and laughed. When she had gotten her laughter under control, Bree leaned on her arm and smiled at the new professor. "So what do you teach?" she asked, smiling happily.

"Nice to meet you both," he said setting the tea on the table. He then heard her other question. "Oh I teach Occlumency, the second teacher for the subject as well. I guess the other teacher let. What do you two teach?" he said answering her question and asking one of his own.

Bree smiled. "Occlumency, ay?" she mused, "fascinating! I teach flying and Miss Tight Lip here teaches Astronomy." She sipped her coffee and realised it was finished. "Ah dear!" She conjured up a whiskey glass and pour herself some Firewhiskey.
Sip, smile, sigh. "My predecessor died," Bree said cheerlessly, an odd thing for her. "Murdered," she said after another sip, "by a student, if you'll believe the rumours." She downed the glass remembering her first day at Hogwarts had been his funeral, the first day she had met many, crying. Poor things!

"Oh cool." he said when she told them what they taught. He always loved Flying and Astronomy."Who?" he asked curiously. He didn't know many people, but his friend often told him about people who died. Alex could only think of how sad that day most of been for everyone.

This is a dead topic, Bree thought, pouring more Firewhiskey. She took another sip, smiled at the thought of Fagin and Jon if they saw her now. She turned back to Alex and shrugged. "I never knew him," she said slowly, "he was a Black, if I remember correctly. Not many liked him and he didn't like many, if I get the story right. Apparently, none knew he had kids and a wife." Bree sipped her whiskey again and stared wide eyed at the Occlumency teacher.

"That's sad, I do recall that name though, oh well." he said shrugging. "Let's get on to a happier subject, how long have you taught here?" he asked both of them. He knew that they already knew that he was new, so he didn't have to bother saying he was new. For a second he could here noises in his head, but luckily he was able to keep them from entering his mind.

Bree set her glass on the table and looked at the new professor with a little smile dancing in the corner of her mouth. "I've been her for as long as Prof Black has been dead," she said bluntly, "so about a year." She giggled slightly and began to eat hurriedly. She could feel it now, all that she had drunk going to her head and she had to eat something.

Dia had been shocked and amused by Bree's summoning techniques. She smiled dumbly at the lady, then quickly turned to smile at the man who joined them. She smiled shyly but couldn't get a word out of her mouth. Finally she said, "almost two years." But then she set to nervously drinking her tea again.
