Emilia kept looking for Dean.. she couldn't seem to find him anywhere..
She looked from face to face...searching..she had almost given up hope when she turned around and bumped into to someone..
They turned around and her eyes lit up, she had found him!
"Sorry I'm a little late" she said smiling..."I hope that you haven't met anyone else here tonight.."
She looked down at the ground shyly.
"well I mean if you did, that's ok..I understand.." She looked up and smiled.

Predictably Jonathan was drunk.
It had been many a moon since the last Hogwart's ball Jonathan had attended, but he distinctly remembered being far too young to spruce up the fun with a good solid drink. While he and Deek had spent many nights scheming how to get past the feather-weight trolls guarding the bar, they had been caught and swiftly reprimanded with a few hours upside down in the dungeons before a drop had even touched their lips. But tonight, of course, he had made sure it was different.
Having sought out Jack Fagin to be his new drinking partner, Jonathan had left the man to simmer in his three bottles worth of firewhiskey and mushroom cloud of cigar smoke in the staffroom nearly half an hour ago, but he had only just managed to find his way down to the Great Hall in his drunk state, tripping down several flights of moving stairs in the process.
He leaned against one side of the door now, his eyes stupidly happy and a rascal's smile on his face. The students swayed about before him although he knew none of them had even started dancing yet, and he stumbled over to the nearest table which housed several arguing Hufflepuffs and a Gryffindor. His watery gaze set upon Girty and he grinned. 'Werewolf!' he shouted jubilantly as he slung an arm around her shoulder. 'Dan's little champion! Why aren't you dancing yet?!' he demanded. 'Oooh, don't have a partner? Your dear old Defense Against the Dark Arts teacher can help you there.' he whispered with a sloppy wink before promptly slipping off his chair and onto the floor.

Brian had just entered the ball when he saw some drunk teacher fall out of his chair and onto the floor. Brian quickly ran over to him to see if he was alright. "Are you alright?" he asked when he got up to him. "I think you've had a little to much to drink." he said attempting to help him up.

The Ball had caused an uproar of excitement at Hogwarts. Bodies of students rushed excitedly toward the Hall, dressrobes flowing elegantly behind them, while others dotted around the tables apprehensively.
The staircase was lined with candles, and Zachary nervously wiped his brow with his palm. He, himself, wore meticulous emerald robes with his family crest catching the light on his collar. Because he was a quadwizard champion, a silver Slytherin Shield lay neatly on one side of his chest, and his hair had been groomed until his dormitory mirror finally approved.
He wasn't looking forward to the public dance, and he only hoped he wouldn't embarrass his companion that evening. Or embarrass himself for that matter.
Grimacing, he finally reached the end of the staircase, his fingers leaving the banister, to the wide open doors of the Halls. A whisper of music reached his ears, until he stepped inside and had to wince at the blare of noise. Smoothing down his robes, he took a few more steps inside, before coming to a sudden stop.
Frowning, he tugged himself forward, not realising the tie of his robes had caught on the heavy doors. As he pulled himself away, the immediately shut with a startling bang, causing a brief silence.
Zachary wasn't one for dramatic entrances and immediately flushed, a scowl on his face, as he pulled his robes free. He didn't bother to open the doors again, his face still warm, as he moved slowly into the crowd, vaguely aware of the creak signaling the doors had been opened once more.
Finally, Zachary spotted a figure dressed in silver and ran a hand through his already slightly mussed hair. Not having much experience with girls at all, the Slytherin walked up behind her and jabbed her gently on the shoulder. "Erm..." Trailing off awkwardly, he stood at her side only slightly taller. "Mozess?"

For a moment Jonathan was content to lie on his side, watching the polished shoes of various students shuffle awkwardly past. He was, however, nearly sick with the motion of someone grabbing the front of his robes and hauling him back up and onto a chair. His vision doubled for a moment - a pleasant reminder of all the liquid he had consumed this far - and looked upon the tall Slytherin lad who had helped him up.
'Aaaah thanks, mate.' Jonathan gave him a friendly punch on the arm, a toothy grin on his face. 'I expect I'm just dehydrated is all! Another gin will put me back on track I reckon. Do us a favour and add a little mooncalf milk to it? Gives it a sweet kick...'
Jonathan tipped forward, his face landing on the table followed by a low groan. A loud bang roused him once more.

Loren clenched her teeth together as Dax turned on his heel and practically ran away, his 'date' seemingly Girty Hubbles. She rolled her eyes in a vexed manner as Ian inquired about the situation. 'He's so stupid sometimes.' Loren cast her eyes back toward the Hufflepuff, seeing that he was now sat with several other Hufflepuffs, that ghastly Gryffindor Sophie and a drunk Professor Starsmore slummed in the midsts.
Seeing that Ian had already got a drink, Loren poked him in the elbow to direct him toward the bar with her. After ordering a bright pink concoctation that was charmed to taste different every time she took a sip, she moved closer to Ian so that no one could eavesdrop on their conversation. 'I hope this music doesn't bother Felix. I expect it's booming all the way up to his room, the poor thing. Did you manage to get those atrice from Hogsmede? He really likes those now...'
'I DON'T LOVE HER!'
Loren was cut short as Dax's voice rang out loud and clear over the music. Her cheeks turned bright red, but she refused to turn around. He better be talking about someone else, she thought brutally. Clearing her throat loudly, Loren looked at Ian with an exasperated expression. 'I wish the champions woulds hurry up! I want to dance!' she snapped distractedly.

"Well it's about time you showed your fa-..." she turned to see Zachary, looking unusually... meek? No. Couldn't be! Not Zach--of all people, he wouldn't be one to be so nervous... but then again, who was she to talk? Having been barrading herself only minutes earlier about whether putting her hair in a bun or ponytail would look trashy or not. But still... this was just plain weird... "Okay, time for plan b." she thought decidedly. Time to make this as much like any other time they hung out as possible...
She put her hands on her hips, "Okay, so I have to get all gussied up for this, and you show up with messy robes and a cowlick?" she asked in mock-anger, trying to lighten the mood for them both. She rolled her eyes, then reached up to smooth down what hairs had freed themselves from their tidy order, pulled his tie straight and nodded, arms crossing. "Okay, now you look at least somewhat presentable," she smirked, then gave him a punch in the arm, "To keep your ego from getting too big when all the girls start staring at you," she explained as if it were a perfectly fine and appropriate precautionary measure.
She looked around the room with a nervous interest. In no time she would be stuck in the middle of that stupid dance floor with Zachary. Though, she had to admit, being able to give him a hard time was proving more amusing then her original plan for the evening had been--blowing up Moaning Myrtles toilet... again. As much fun as it was to heckle the poor ghost, her crying could just become too much after a while. She looked at Zach, "So. you ready to kick this party into gear?" she asked, nodding to the center of the grat hall/ballroom.

Post by Prof. Allion Vickers on Mar 21, 2007 7:35:42 GMT
Allion walked down the stairs, his midnight-blue robes trailing behind him. Dressed for the occasion, though he was always quite polished, the Professor almost knocked over a young Gryffindor girl who was making her way out of the Hall.
"Alright there, Miss..." He paused, squinting a bit in thought as he tried to recall her name. "Vangarett?" Pleased with himself, he nodded his head toward the Hall, beckoning her to follow him. "I do believe you're going the wrong way."
With a small wink, he led her through the doors and took in the site before him. Hogwarts balls were always quite magnificent, but the grand decor seemed to outdo itself. For the champions, he supposed.
Immediately spotting Starsmore, Allion chuckled and walked over, making sure Cassandra was still in tow.
"Look here," He said to an exceptionally tall Hufflepuff, and Miss. Hubbles' escort. "The champions haven't even danced yet, and this sod's already out of it." Snapping his fingers in front of the other professor's eyes, Allion smirked at the low groan in response.
"He'll need a pepperup potion, I suspect. You--" He pointed at a cheeky Gryffindor boy. "Pass me that glass of water will you?"
Allion pulled a small vial from his robe pocket and grinned slightly. "I saw this coming you know," he said with a wink in Girty's direction.

Girty found it hard to laugh at Will and what he had said, however she was soon interrupted by a rather drunk Professor Starsmore shouting at her across the table. With a small frown and her cheeks turning a slight red she tired to push aside his comment of her being a werewolf and then about her brother and then her having no dance partner. When he fell off his chair Girty gave a small satisfied smile. Once another teacher had joined them, Girty knew that the table was getting crowded.
Brushing the creases out of her dress Girty looked around the room trying to find Dax. After seeing him standing all alone Girty stormed off towards him, grasping him by the arm and dragged him towards the dance floor. She ignored his stuttering and groans until they stood face to face in the middle of the dance floor.
“The ball needs some life Dax, if they are waiting for the champions to dance then they can at least have one.” With a small smile she took hold of Dax’s hand and waited for him to start to lead them in the dance. Giving a quick glance over her shoulder she noticed that Zachary Daniels had also turned up, which would mean her and Dax would not be dancing alone for long.

Dax did not take his gaze off Loren. He watched every movement and longed to be part of the conversation she was having. He was about to muster up the courage to walk towards her when Girty began to drag him away. He was soon standing in the middle of the dance floor with Girty holding tightly onto him. “Girt I do not think we should do this without the other champions.”
As he looked down at her the look on her face explained it all. The glint in her eyes seemed like she would be willing to kick him in the shines if he did not move. No matter how much he did not want to do this she did have a point. The ball was meant to have dancing, and well there were two champions around. Rumour had it that Ravenclaw now had no champion as Helia Ollivander had pulled out and Jac had not been seen around school for a very long time. With a slight sigh he tightened his grip on Girty’s hand and began to solely lead her around the dance floor in time with the music. They would twirl one way then the other making their way around the dance floor.
A few people began to gather around the edges watching while others started to look for dance partners. Dax stumbled on a number of occasions trying hard not to step on Girty’s feet and keep in time to the music. Finally to his relief other people began to make there way onto the dance floor and twirl around with their partners.
(Sorry for not waiting for all the champions but a few people had said they wanted the dancing to start….sorry if this has anoyed anyone)

Post by Bailey Griffiths on Mar 21, 2007 21:27:59 GMT
Bailey had been running late for the ball, she was going to miss the first dance, she could hardly miss watching Girty dance, it was a rare oppurtunity and would be rather amusing.
Bailey ran down the stairs into the great hall, luckily she was not one to wear a dress otherwise she would have surely tripped. Instead she was wearing black dress robes, with yellow glitter running down all the seems of her trousers and along her jacket. She felt it had to be added to add some remote femininity at least, however she had also decided to wear a low cut yellow shirt to show off her hufflepuffness.
Bailey knew she was likely to be the only girl to not be wearing a dress. Though she decidely enjoyed the thought of being different, afterall she had sworn never to wear a dress again! However her mother chose to ignore this factor hence she had almost been without suitable clothing for the ball, earlier that morning her mother had sent her a sparkly blue dress by owl. The poor owl had been traumatised by the delivery at the time, obviously its route had been plagued by strong winds.
As Bailey entered the hall she noted that the dancing had just begun, and so headed to a bunch of her fellow hufflepuffs that lined the edge of the dancefloor. "Talk about being fashionably late, eh!" she said with a grin.

Zachary smoothed his robes down indignantly, before Mozess jerked him around, fixing their ties. Scowling, he sent murderous glances to anyone who was snickering as Mozess fixed his hair, before her next statement made him undoubtedly, sickeningly nervous again.
"...Started?" He grimaced, "As in dance?" He looked none to pleased at the idea as he peered over a silver-clad shoulder toward the floor. However, his eyes suddenly flashed and he glared furiously ahead of him.
"They've started dancing already? Before we could even get there?" Sneering, Zachary clasped Mozess' hand and led her determinedly toward the dancing couple. "So confident," He rolled his eyes, pausing just in the middle and still fuming. "She thinks Hufflepuff will actually win this thing?"
A tug on his hand reminded him that he was still dragging Mozess along the hall. Grimacing at the crowd of people gathering, Zachary looked over at Mozess in a resigned way.
"I suppose this thing's about to start whether I like it or not," he said, while awkwardly positioning his hands against her. He tried not to look at her eyes, afraid of seeing the purplish hue of amusement, a hint that she was likely to tease him. [OOC; No worries, I think. It needed a good push to get started ]

Post by Lidia Cullen on Mar 21, 2007 22:46:09 GMT
Getting ready for the ball wasn't a big deal for Lidia. She had bought a beautiful black and white gown. She ended up just letting her hair do its own thing, a little messy, but insanely perfect at the same time. She didn't have time to care about how she looked. As she walked in she just found a corner to sit in.
She knew very well that Trenton would be late he always was. It wouldn't surprise her if he didn't show up at all. Lidia would more than likely just have to sit there looking like an idiot. She found herself scanning the room for anyone she knew.
