The Quadwizard Tournament BALL
Attire: Formal
Location: The Great Hall - House tables removed. A stage has been put at the front of the hall where the staff table would normally be - a band is there playing with a big space before them for dancing. Circular tables are dotted around the room, that seat about 8 people. A bar with drinks (non alcoholic for the younger students! heh) is positioned towards the back of the hall. The hall is decorated with all the houses colours and shields.
So, yeah, have fun with this! It probably would be nice if the first dance is the quadwizard champions and their "dates"... though if people don't want to do that, don't worry. Enjoy!
Any questions, PM me.
NOTE: This is thread is in a separate sub-board, created entirely for the ball. This means you can create threads to do with the ball separate from this if you need to. Eg 1: You could RP before the ball where you and your date meet up. Eg 2: RP when you and your friends go out for some fresh air Eg 3: RP private/important conversation at the ball.

Andie walked into the Great Hall and gasped, the change was stunning! The Hall looked magnificent! Andie looked around and noticed that she was the first to arrive. Smoothing down her ankle length dress, she sat down at a table. Her dress was pure silk , strapless and a dark green to emphasize her emerald green eyes and compliment her flame red hair the dark green of the dress also contrasted with her flawless creamy complexion. Her hair was pulled back into a messy yet elegant bun with a few wispy curls framing her face. She had on her grandmothers diamond necklace and her mothers ruby ring. Shimmery powder was dusted across her cheeks and collarbone. She closed her eyes and hummed along with the music. She could hardly wait for the ball to get under way!

Girty’s heart was pounding. This was the first step leading to the tournament, the ball would mean everything, and already the stress was getting to her. Girty first of all panicked about getting the right coloured dress. It needed to be yellow. But not buttercup yellow or lemon it had to be the perfect yellow, the yellow that shouted out ‘HUFFLEPUFF!”
With all this panic Girty had forgotten all about finding herself a date, as she would have to have the first dance. She finally found her knight in shinning armour, well almost. Dax had agreed at the last minute, simply to give himself a reason to go. With a small smile Girty gave him a quick glance upwards and looked at his nervous face. He was showing the nervous more then her, but Girty’s heart was racing, her breaths were short and her hands began to sweat.
As they entered the hall Girty let out a small squeak. It was beautiful and the atmosphere was already building up, there were gaggles of first years in the corner, some 4th years were standing around the bar and Andie was sitting at one of the tables. With a small nod in her direction Girty continued to be lead by Dax up the centre of the hall.

Dax continued to lead Girty to the dance floor. His eyes darted around the room looking to see if a certain Ravenclaw had arrived. With a sigh of relief he noticed that she was not here, he dreaded to see her face at the sight of Dax leading another girl into the hall. Tightening his grip around Girty’s arm he pulled her along some more, he was determined to get to the centre and get it over and done with.
As he approached the middle he began to fidget with his free hand. It felt like his black bowtie was strangling him, his hair was flopping over his eyes and he was convinced the tail end of his black robes were catching on his heals. “Come along Girt.” He mumbled as they approached the middle. He could feel the gaze of the people in the hall falling on him and he managed to produce a very nervous looking smile.

Squeezing himself into a shirt that was too short for him had been no easy task, but then of course he'd remembered to simply use magic, cursing his apparent Muggleness, he rejigged his outfit in a flash, of smoke in fact, his dress robes unfortunately catching fire. Oh well he'd have to wear a snazzy but smart shirt and long flowing jacket, a deep red was his preference but being a devote Hufflepuff that just wouldn't do. To keep his fellows happy a brown jacket rested upon his broad shoulders, laced by all accounts with yellow throughout, he had a sneaking suspicion they hadn't been there the previous night, quite probably they were down to Girty's infamous knitting skills, or rather wand work he surmised. She'd been quite adament he wear something at least half-decent. Sporting sleek trousers of a natural green verging upon brown once more, he finished off the act with his favorite hat which he'd quite happily wear for any occasion; a black top hat sporting the Hufflepuff Badger upon it. Believing his rather ordinary features, didn't look quite so brutish now he held himself with his usual air of self-assurity, being cool calm and collected as ever, to some people quite insufferably. He needed such virtues as he swiftly negotiated his way past the gathering crowds. It seemed people didn't want to arrive too early and seem over eager mind, though the entire school's excitement and bubbling anticipation had been clear for days, weeks in fact, he believed Girty had been planning upon getting the dress for months, though he would of course exaggerate to her face. Clearing his throat to excuse his hasty pass of a number of giggling girls, whom he thought either loathed his clothes or rather admired them, either way he would quite probably never find out, nodding curteously to them he grinned as they giggled all the more, though he recieved a rather shaky curtsy back from one, smiling pleasantly he realised with a sinking feeling that she quite probably now expected a dance with him. Well that would teach him to beam so broadly. Though he would happily dance the night away, he didn't want to annoy the all important someone, his Head of House Prof Hubbles, who had suggested with a rather forceful manner that he not leave Girty alone all night. Thankfully Dax had performed the task too, though Boggleworth wouldn't mind sharing in the lovely duty.
Upon now entering he swiftly strode down the hall passing the assembling dances giving Girty and Dax a wink. He was very eager for their dance to be over, so he could begin too. Smiling broadly he bowed to those he knew being quite in his element...

Andie's face brightened as Girty walked into the hall. She stood and walked towards her friend. The silk of her dress rustling and the (short) train trailing slightly behind her. She reached Girty and another Hufflepuff. Girty's date presumably. "Girty! It's so good to see you here!" she greeted her friend with a hug and nodded and smiled at Girty's date.

Feeling Dax pull her along some more Girty speed up a little bit only to actually break free of the older Hufflepuff’s grip and running towards Andie and hugged her in return. With a smile Girty looked at Andie and her dress unable to suppress a small laugh. “Do you think I would miss this? A ball in my honour….well not quite but almost….you look amazing!”
She could not contain herself. Girty was just saying the first thing that came to her mind. A wide small filled her face once more as she looked around the room in a daze. Tucking a piece of lose hair behind her ear Girty looked back at Andie. “It is so beautiful”
With a quick glance she caught the sight of Boggleworth and his yellow jacket. With another small sequel Girty ran over and jumped into the air wrapping her arms around his neck. She planted a kiss on his cheek before letting go landing gently on her feet. “Hope you liked my handy work.”

With Girty hanging from his neck for a few moments Boggleworth screwed up his face in mock horror at Dax, winking too. Having been taken abake by the sudden move he neglected swinging her around, and thought that was rather beneficial as it would have probably made her sick. She would no doubt be swung about by many a lad throughout the night; Andie Riley too if she played her cards right he guessed. Bowing low to Girty he kissed her hand with her kiss still burning upon his cheeks and led her back to her most devoted partner, who seemed so thrilled to get her back to dance. Laughing good naturedly he declared "tis a most splendid jacket, suits me don't you think?" He asked twirling her round then handing her hand gently back to Dax, "your partner methinks, you should keep a better eye on her," he laughed bounding forward and giving Dax a bearhug hoping that would make him go beetroot.

Layla entered the ball with an obvious scowl. Despite the fact that she'd gotten to ditch this school for two weeks to get her new dress, she still didn't want to be here. It was a fabulous dress though; light blue, in honor of Beaxbatons, floor length and ruffled with an "A"-line slit on the right side. She supposed it was nice to have a good reason to show it off, and this did seem like a stylish event... but Beaxbatons balls were better.
None the less, she decided she ought to at least try to enjoy herself. So, as a bright cheery smile graced her coral pink lips, she made her entrance, walking gracefully towards the bar, making sure to keep her posture. No bad impressions! She took a butter beer from the bar tender, wishing it was fire whiskey or something strong, then made her way to one of the tables closest to the dance floor.
She grinned merrily as couples made their way in, smiling at everyone who passed by, keeping her ears open for any words of malice towards her father's place of business. She doubted any of these students had any idea what was going on, but then again, she never would've guessed Telbor had any idea either. This school was just full of surprises.
She tried to keep her outer demeanor calm, cheery, and welcoming, despite her inner arguments with herself over which half of her brain hated this school more. She saw a couple of Hufflepuffs chattering excitedly, and a Ravenclaw girl who seem to be covered in moondust. "Where do you even get something like that around here?" she thought curiously before letting her eyes continue wandering around the room, wondering what other oddities she might find.

Fin ran into the Hall. Yesterday he had been in a rather bad mood, mostly because of boredom. But fortunately his spirits had lifted, and he was feeling much better at the moment.
Tonight he was sporting a shiny silk blue button-up T-shirt, with a nice shiny silk black neck-tie as well as nice shiny silk black pants to go along with it. Pretty nice, pretty shiny, pretty silky, pretty simple. On his head were a pair of pitch black sunglasses. He had made a promise to himself to not take them off the whole night, even though he was blind as a bat with them on because they completely blocked out his vision.
Fin had also made another promise to himself earlier that night: to be the life of the party, no matter what. Tonight was his night to be noticed by everyone. He had had a few tricks up his sleeve (some of them literally), but other than his usual antics, he would just basically play it by ear. First however, he wanted to mingle. He set off to find his friends, and maybe to make some new ones.

Andie smiled at Girty and said, "Well I'm going to go see what kind of havok I can wreak! Hope you enjoy yourself!" she walked away and made her way to a Gryffindor girl that had just come in. "Hi, I'm Andrea Riley." she introduced herself with a smile. "You're the girl from Beuaxbatons aren't you?" she asked.

"Hm, so kind. 'That girl from Beaxbatons', that certainly defines me..." she thought distractedly as the Ravenclaw girl introduced herself. "Layla LeMoine. Pleasure to meet you," she said grinning broadly. "Have a seat, won't you?" she asked invitingly, gesturing to one of the seven other chairs at the table. She was still a bit confused about what all the hubbub was, so she decided to ask, "What's the party for? I'm not saying I object or anything; I mean, any reason to get dolled up is reason enough for me, but I'm just kind of curious as to what the whole shenanigans is about," she shrugged, taking a lady like sip of her butter beer.

Dax felt Girty tug on his arm and she final slipped away. He saw her hug a Ravenclaw and then run around and hug Bog after letting off a rather high pitched scream that left his ear ringing. Rather slowly Dax turned around and saw Girty and Bog laughing happily together. Trying to join in Dax put on a rather pathetic laugh that had no essence of joy in it, then to thinking he could not feel anymore uncomfortable Bog hugged him.
The force was so great in fact that his breath was taken from him. Patting Bog on the back gently, Dax pushed himself away from his friend and just about managed to stutter out a greeting “It…It is nice to see you as well Bog….erm…drink! Would anyone like a drink…I will go get some.”
Breaking away form the group Dax made his way toward the bar, desperately trying to loosen his tie. After waiting at the bar for a bit….pretending he was waiting to be served Da thought he best order the drinks. Signalling for three butter beers.

Andie smiled at Layla, "Well apparently the school is having an interhouse 'Quad Wizard Tournament' and well... this is the tournament ball!" she paused to take a sip of butterbeer, then continued, "I do agree with you though, any excuse to get dressed up is a good one! So, what was Beauxbatons like? Hogwarts must be really different, huh?"

Rakki wanted to hide. She wanted to turn around and run back to the safety of her room but she couldn't. Well, not with her date leading her to the ballroom. Rakki let out a nervous sigh and smoothed out the invisible wrinkles on her dress.
It was simple yet elegant emerald silk dress (seeing how Rakki didn't want anything too over the top and her date refuse to let her go in anything that wasn't silk) that exposed just a few inches of her chest. It hugged her torso but eased it's hold from waist down, allowing her to move with moderate strides. Over top of her dress was a black crushed velvet cape that was held together by a silver snake, looping itself into a figure eight.
Rakki's hair was done up in a high ponytail where a silk green ribbon encrusted with tiny obsidian flecks held it in its place. She wore very little jewelry, only a pair of obsidian earrings with random emerald swirls. Even her nails were painted! They were black with a green. . . something. Rakki had yet to figure out what they were but even she admitted it contributed to her look. Turning to her date, she looked up at him. "Amadeus," Rakki half whined. "Do I have to dance?"
